Main House Layout: First Floor: There are two bedrooms with king-sized beds. One of these rooms also has a sofa bed. There's also a TV room with another sofa bed. Additionally, two folding beds are available on this floor. Second Floor: There is one bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a pop-up trundle bed (equivalent to two full-size beds). In the living room, there's another sofa bed. The house is set up to comfortably accommodate three couples, each with two children. There’s a gas barbecue grill and outdoor dining tables — perfect for a small family celebration or a quiet evening meal. It adjoins a 950 acre wildlife park with 1200 exotic animals. Many can be seen from the road or you can pay to drive through and feed the animals. Your host is Randall Oliver. He has been organizing group campouts for years and enjoys hosting, bringing people together and inspiring a love of nature, camping and paddling. Everyone is welcome and campers are treated like family. He can teach your kids to kayak and build a camp fire. You can fish for largemouth bass, cat, crappy and bluegill in the two ponds and swim, paddle kayaks and paddle boards, hike the jungle trail and socialize around the campfires. There are no designated campsites. You can camp anywhere except between the green building and the front pond. No vehicles are allowed back on the property. Off road wagons are provided to help haul your gear. Front pond camping areas are 30-100 yards from parking area. The rear pond is more secluded but farther from the parking and outhouse. There are four fire pits around the front pond and one next to the rear pond. The tiny handcrafted Hummingbird Tree House is perched on an elevated deck overlooking the front pond. and features a queen bed, a bed in the loft for two small kids, electricity, lights, fan, hummingbird stained glass windows, screened operable windows and a screened, operable porthole window in the kids loft. The deck has lights, tables and chairs and outdoor table and chairs and a thatch covered umbrella. There is no heat or AC in the tree house. You must bring your own sleeping bags, blankets and pillows. No food, smoking or pets allowed in the tree house. There is a rustic outhouse with a modern composting toilet, sink, faucet, lights, soap, etc. and a nearby cold water outdoor shower (no privacy), sink, counter and faucet. Use of firepit and grill, kayaks and paddleboards, rod & reels, hammocks, swinging chair and tire swing is included. Firewood can be purchased $1 per stick

Cody and Ingrid were very friendly. The property was lovely. I camped on site #1 which is by the pond. You get serenaded by frogs in the night which is pleasant. I only stayed one night, but wish I would have stayed another night since it was very relaxing especially during long driving trip.

The campsites were private, beautiful, and spacious. Plus the hosts are amazing people! I would highly recommend to any camper looking for a safe place to land. We will be back!

1 night at Texas Safari Camp

The campsites were easy to get to. Lots of land to explore. Randall was very kind and accommodating. The kids had a blast. They made dances with a mimicking emu near the entrance. We had a blast. Nice to get outside not too far out of Dallas. Can’t wait to visit again when the weather is warmer and try paddling gear and visit the safari nearby.

1 night at Texas Safari Camp

We loved camping here. This may be the best place you can camp that is less than an hour from downtown Dallas. Randall is an excellent host. Trails for small hikes with dogs and kids and a couple of ponds. Lots of wildlife. There is a safari place right across the street which is closed in the winter but we could see some of the animals walking around by the road. It was very cold and Randall had plenty of firewood at the site. Look forward to coming back in the summer when we can play in the lake and explore more.

amazing place! Let me boom last minute, animals here are beautiful, happy and very quiet, cleanest ranch ever been to, Angela is so incredibly kind, very responsive, Cabin I stayed in was fenced in, safe, clean, beautiful, spacious. on a road trip to big bend park w 3 pups, was not expecting so much hospitality but privacy if needed. I cannot thank her enough, hope to come back through ❤️

Loved it! The place is very welcoming and I loved how secluded each camp spot was. I really had my own space to do my own thing. They also have firewood! Only $10! I car camped and would’ve definitely preferred to bring a tent but I’ll save that for next time! I will most likely be back.

melissa’s spot is super cute and comfy, and she and family were very gracious and accommodating hosts despite us arriving late on xmas eve. we (2 people and an elderly dog) had everything we needed for some good rest, a campfire, and grilling a delicious dinner. melissa also had plenty of useful local tips, and WOW the breakfast sandwich was so good! would stay again 🤗

Absolutely amazing!!! I can’t wait to come back. Melissa was the best house and the property was even better than I expected. I was so comfortable, secure and felt like I was totally isolated. At the same time, I knew help or something I needed was just a text away. The fire pit made cooking a breeze, and I spent so much time in the sauna. The bathtub was amazing and fully stocked!

We thoroughly enjoyed our tent camping experience on Site #1 on Cody and Ingrid's land. The site itself was incredibly spacious and felt private. We especially loved the nearby pond, which was the perfect starting point for a beautiful trail that loops right back to the campsite. The clean and stylishly decorated bathroom was an excellent bonus! Thank you for a truly memorable and refreshing stay.

This spot is such a gem. We loved meeting the goats and chickens and seeing how lovingly curated they have made this space. Jeffrey was so kind and a wealth of knowledge about farming and gardening. Our dog had a ball playing frisbee with enough space to really run, and the RV was so spacious! Beautiful night of bon firing under the stars. We will definitely be back <3

The camping area was clean, spacious and well-maintained, with fire pits and trash cans provided. With amenities such as flushing toilets and hot showers, we will definitely be returning, during Steampunk November (the event held near the camping grounds) and for other events nearby.

The camp grounds are very nice and fairly well thought out. A little difficult to know where to go but once you figure out the layout it's a little easier. I love that it was just a short walk from most of the campsites to the restrooms. A little more info about what to expect and also where the showers were located would help. Showers were fair except the wooden backsplash was kinda gross. Oh well. I'm just glad there were showers with hot water etc. Would def recommend and will def return

We were very close to the showers and the toilet. There was a large trashcan right at the campsite. Even though the hipcampers were relatively close to one another in proximity, the cedar grove of trees provided a lot of privacy, it was very peaceful and quiet the Sat night we stayed.
