At the Confluence of the Mighty Llano River and the Majestic James River lies something completely unexpected - an undiscovered gem in the Texas hill country. The Dos Rios.

We have over 19.3 acres of hill country beauty to explore. Take a casual dip in the mighty Llano River, or take the plunge off of 20-foot red rock cliffs into deep cool water. Kayak, canoe, swim, visit the Eckart Bat Cave, or take a scenic drive down the gorgeous James River Road (a winding gravel road that goes over several low water crossings on the crystal clear James River). Enjoy the island in front of the property, with its beaches and multiple access points to swimming holes.

We also have camping, a tiny home and a fully renovated vintage airstream available (see other Hipcamp listings). We also rent kayaks and canoes!

World Famous Bend General Store

We are an old Texas General Store near Colorado Bend State Park.
 We have a funky laid-back vibe.
 Folks out here are nice.
 We have amazing food and many famous music artists play here.
 After they play it is quiet and peaceful out here.
We also have a store with basic groceries.  
Our food has been featured in many media outlets.

Phrog and Munkey Camping

We are in the progress of turning the property into a retreat for artists and outdoor enthusiasts.  We acquired the property in August 2018 and we began the improvements with the house.  When we get the house complete we will begin building cabins, campsites and workshops.  Come enjoy the quiet space.Learn more about this land:Our land is at the edge of the Texas Hill Country with wide open space for tents.  The camping is primitive and quiet.  We have the pretty skies and beautiful views.

Comanche Oaks Ranch

Learn more about this land:Hipcampers can expect to see one of the darkest skies in Central Texas, located far enough away from Austin and Dallas light pollution to clearly see the Milky Way on a cloudless night. Drive carefully on the dirt roads leading to the ranch; as deer are plentiful all around the property.  Wildlife viewing is exceptional, with a wide range of animals typical of the rolling hills of Central Texas Hillcountry. The property has patches of open meadows speckled with hundreds of large, beautiful heritage trees including Live Oaks, Red Oaks, Cedar Elms, and Pecans. There are two small ponds on the property, with plenty of frogs and typical aquatic species providing a natural soundscape at night.  Feel free to explore the site on foot or vehicles, but please keep vehicles only on existing dirt roads (no off-roading allowed). Feel free to use the RV hookup at the green metal building, and enjoy the stunning sunset views of the Texas Hillcountry from the elevated wooden deck connected to the building. The large propane grill (propane provided) on the wooden deck is also available for camper use. Campers can make a campfire in the designated fire pit only,  and you must bring your own firewood.  Campers may use the outdoor shower station, but you must bring your own water and mobile shower bag to hang from the hook at the top of the shower station.

CLOSEST PROPERTY TO ENCHANTED ROCK - 18 mins away, 38 mins from Fredericksburg,  25 mins from Kingsland, and 5 mins from Llano, Texas. 

Flat, tree surrounded sites with campfire rings. Or stay up top on the granite outcropping with a a hillside fire ring and city views (appropriate vehicle required). Rustic natural landscape with granite outcroppings, seasonal wildflowers and year round wildlife siting's - deer, wild pigs, raccoons, dove, scorpions, ants and various varieties of snakes. (YES RATTLERS and COPPERHEADS - April - November). 

With 10 potential sites to choose from, campers select preferred camping spot desire based on availability.  Each campsite is unique. Hilltop location requires 4x4 transportation. For all campsites, there are rocks and brush located thru out the property, caution required driving low clearance vehicles. We are not responsible for car or tire damage - so proceed with caution and stay on designated paths. 

GREAT FOR A VARIETY OF LARGE PARTIES - inquire with the host. 

Absolutely NO HUNTING ALLOWED. We feed the deer. And the Longhorns! If you'd like to feed them too we can leave a bag of deer corn or cow cubes and you can feed them as well. Hand feeding the Longhorns is a true experience. 

The property is been completely fenced. Please close and secure gate after entering and exiting with the lock provided.  Code provided before arrival. There is a manual gate and a automatic gate you will be given the code for both.
