We loved our night here. We went swimming in the river, it was the perfect temperature. Bjorn the dog hung out with us all night and got along great with our dog, he was fantastic we were so sad leaving him in the morning. Nice and shady area, felt very private!

Been here twice, loved it both times. Hosts are great and very accomodating. We stayed at the hilltop & the water was very nice. Friendly dog hung out and swam with us the whole trip, will be back soon!

We loved our campsite at Low Gear Farmstead, it was very easy to find given the instruction and we were very pleased when we rolled up and saw our campsite! It’s spacious and right next to a river / stream that we spent most of our weekend swimming and tubing in. The host sold generous amounts of affordable firewood and yes we did go see the goats, it was very worth it. The best part was our surprise guest, Bjorn the dog who was very friendly and kept us company throughout our stay, and was a joy to have along with us. The worst part was leaving and seeing him chase behind after us 🥺 Highly recommend camping here, we got to do everything we wanted to and more! Logan the host is very responsive and attentive too, and fun to talk with. I want to go back already!

It’s a great location. I had a great time. It’s very peaceful. The stream is an added bonus to cool off. Logan and Gear were very helpful. Got to see wildlife and take a tour of their goats. Bjorn was a bonus. This was their dog. I enjoyed his company but they offered to keep him in their home. This was my first solo trip so it was nice to have Bjorn’s company. He kept critters away from the campsite. He accompanied me to the stream, for a short walk and just hung out at the campsite. I had rain one night and Bjorn stayed close by. This is my second trip there and I always feel safe. Will definitely be back.

Enjoyed my one night stay here, wish I had more time! This is a no-frills, straight forward camping area. I loved the landscape and the super dark night skies. The goats were very entertaining, not to mention photogenic! No amenities, just a great place to spend the night!

Such a great space! It was an overcast and stormy weekend so I couldn’t enjoy the stars, will definitely be back though. Hosts were so nice and the other campers were very friendly. You still had privacy even with other campers which I really enjoyed.

We were lucky enough to get the skyview spot. It sits at the top of a gorgeous cactus covered hill where a perfectly beaten path leads you down to the river. There you will find the magic of a largely untouched natural paradise. A flat bottom boat with paddles was available that fit our family of four (mom, dad, and kids (8 & 5)). We took two different trips down river and back and we all agreed it was one of the best highlights(of many) from the weekend. We saw turtles and fish, lizards and even a heron. Which brings me to the farm itself. So much entertainment for the kids (adults too, if we’re being honest). They have silly, cactus-eating goats, clucking chickens, white-feathered turkeys, ducks, a young stallion and the sweetest eeyore of a Shetland pony named Charlie Brown. The two dogs that live on the property narrowly avoided being rehomed to Austin with us. They are the most gentle, friendly farm dogs and our children couldn’t get enough of them.
Exploring the land was an adventure for the kids. We found animal bones, picked wildflowers, found a ton of interesting insects, chased lizards and especially enjoyed the hidden labyrinth that is almost complete. The stars were beautiful at night and we slept like babies to the sound of the river. This particular location doesn’t have much shade unless you are down by the water, so make sure to bring a shade tent if possible. Lastly, the owners are a such a welcoming and warm family. We cannot wait to return!

Absolutely stunning campsite right next to the river! Exactly the vibes I was looking for...river sounds - check! wildlife sightings - check! private - check! Did some fishing and simply hung out in the river during the hot parts of the day. One of the best sites I've camped at, incredibly clean with flat surfaces and plenty of nature all around. Logan was incredibly helpful explaining how to get to the site and answering questions I had. Look forward to revisiting and staying here again! As others have mentioned, if you're on the fence on booking this...just do it! You won't be dissapointed!

Absolutely loved our stay at this stargazer! The location is stunning—right on the river with peaceful views and plenty of nature to soak in. What really set it apart were the extras they offered: they offer massages, and we booked one with Logan, the host. Hands down one of the best massages we’ve ever had—so relaxing and grounding after a long day outdoors.
The vibe of the whole place is just serene. Friendly goats, sweet dogs who greeted us like old friends, and Logan was such a warm, thoughtful host. If you’re looking for a camping experience that blends nature, comfort, and a bit of wellness, this is the place. Can’t wait to come back!

Low Gear Farmstead is a great place. It's quiet and campsites are spread far apart. The chair massage was wonderful - highly recommend that! I really enjoyed chatting with Logan and her mom, Lois. The whole place felt very peaceful and I would go back for sure.

1 night at Low Gear Farmstead
The most beautiful properly I have ever spent time on. We camped at the stargazing site but took a little walk around with one of the dogs Bjorn as it seemed no one else was around and we wouldn’t be bothering anyone. The river running through the property is incredible. The toilet at the site is just what you need & nothing more (bring your own TP).
The best part of the trip was getting to spend time with Bjorn. My dog recently died and Bjorn’s companionship was so welcome. When it rained a bit during the night we let him into the tent and he slept on the floor. He knows a few tricks if you’ve got a treat or two. Bjorn was a great camp host.

I recently stayed at this secluded campsite, and it was an absolute dream. Great place !! Wife and i got the Skyview spot and the stars at night were amazing ! Sadly it was super windy that day so there were loads of dust blowing from the spot. Super primitive spots , with outhouse and besr part it was right next to the river ! Cold and enjoyable! They have aome farm animals along with doggies that passed by to say hi .
