Weekend Trip to Cabins directly on the Lake

This place was an absolute dream location not far from Houston. If you need a weekend away to disconnect from city life this is an absolute gem! So quiet and relaxing and the owners are very attentive to your every need! I would 100 percent recommend this to anyone who wants a quiet retreat to decompress and relax!

The Victorian room is furnished from the turn of the century with a few modern conveniences thrown in.

Weekend Trip to Seven Acres Campground

This stay was as described plus some! Most importantly for me is always having my coffee and there's a cute little cabin "tea house" with a kitchen for long stay use plus coffee, tea, and snacks. It was adorable and quite a surprise because the listing said a coffee maker was in the laundry room. Untrue and should be updated to reflect how cute the standalone "tea house" really is! The bathhouse should really be called luxury bath cabin. It is really nice, very clean, and just steps from the cabin I stayed in. It's shared among all cabins so that could turn some off, but it was so nice that I absolutely didn't mind. The area is really pretty, filled with trees and flowers, and sweet outside cats. Right across the street from the lake. The road noise might be busy during prime season but overall, this stay was quiet and relaxing, more than a simple overnight campsite, which was just what I was looking for.

My kids had a blast. There's a little playground. Getting to see new baby goats was the best thing ever. Lots of area to explore. We got to see many different kinds of mushrooms in the woods.(just looked, didn't pick any). The cabin was nice. Had spots for everyone. We will be back in the spring for berry season!

If you’re looking for a relaxing adventure with all the comforts of home, this is the perfect stay. The host was amazing—friendly, helpful, and incredibly quick to respond to any questions we had. We brought our RV and were able to camp right alongside my sister, who rented the Airstream for Thanksgiving, which made the experience even more special. The property itself was beautiful. We spent our days exploring the trails and enjoying the local wildlife, and our evenings were filled with cozy campfire vibes and plenty of s’mores. It was the ideal blend of comfort and outdoor fun. We can’t recommend this stay enough and can’t wait to come back!

We had a wonderful stay at Stewart’s Cove in Cabin 3! Gene was incredibly kind and welcoming, and the cabin itself was clean and comfortable with great water pressure and a beautiful view. We loved being able to catch fish right from the pier and truly enjoyed every moment. We’re already planning to return — this time bringing our whole family!

This place is a great quite family get away with lots to do. Very beautiful land and scenery. The kids had a blast fishing out of all the ponds while the cows were hanging out all around us! Cabin is nice, clean, and peaceful. Will definitely be staying again and highly recommend visiting!

Had an awesome tent camping experience here at Tara Vineyard and Winery! First of there are adorable animals 💜. Secondly the bathroom amenities were super clean! Note that the shower is an outdoor shower so be sure to bring a bathing suit to shower in. The shower water was lukewarm, but honestly didn’t bother me. Overall had a great time camping here. Sadly, we didn’t make time to try out the winery, but guess we’ll have to come back and try it out! The charcuterie boards looked amazing though 😍!

It was hard to leave this place. They have a way of just making you feel at home. She gave us some jam she made and honey from her bees. Then a dozen eggs. Just the sweetest person. When we left she texted us places we should visit. But the truth is we just wanted to stay there lol the land is peaceful. Our kids 1&3 enjoyed trampoline and swimming! We stayed over Labor Day weekend from Friday to Monday and as someone who has had 4 days off in two months I was looking forward to nothing but relaxing. This was the medicine I needed! We got to the spot and in the gate with zero problems. It is exactly as advertised and the pictures tell you exactly what you are getting. It was so quiet, beautiful, and serene that I immediately relaxed. The camper is great and equipped with everything you would need. We over packed because we've had other experiences that weren't as equipped with what we needed but this was perfection. We put bird seed I the feeder the first night and by the next day we had all sorts of birds, we had a sweet armadillo who visited us everyday, and two barred owls who decided to have a conversation each evening. Humming birds all over the place, fireflies, and just so calming. When it rained we were able to not only stay inside and stream our shows but also WiFi was on point so I was able to sit outside and watch on my iPad. The covers deck was also perfect for that while it rained. The pool was clean and a great dip to cool off. The only thing with that is that it was a little hard to get in and out for a shorty like me. We had a blast and will absolutely rent this again!! When we needed more firewood the owners came ASAP and brought more. Very kind and hey, we did hit up Buc-ee's that is only miles away for fun and great snacks. Highly recommend for quiet, silent weekend!

Weekend Trip to Riveted Retreat

Had a wonderful time this weekend soaking in the pool, chilling with the dogs, and chilling inside and out with the amazing WiFi while it rained down. The owners were quick to respond with new firewood and had a nice bag of candied pecans waiting for us. This was the weekend we were looking for and so private. Totally as advertised and the deck with the roof over was perfect for the times it did rain so we could still be outside. Would totally recommend this place again and will be back for sure. Oh and there is a Buc-ee's only a few miles away so that was great for amazing snacks and a quick breakfast when we didn't want to cook.
