Weekend Trip to Llama Land Ranch

We absolutely loved our stay at llama land Ranch. The hosts were unbelievably kind and generous. The llamas were very friendly and the kids enjoyed them as well. The campsites were spaced nicely and well maintained we will be back very very soon. We definitely recommend staying here!

Nice experience with Lamas. Judy and other gentlemen were patient answering questions about the stay. Could have looked at the weather before going, had multiple times thunderstorms over the night. But that is not related to the camping experience. And also recommendations around places to see around the camping will also be helpful.

We LOVED llama land ranch! It was the perfect getaway from Fort Worth for the weekend. Our campsite was tucked away from the other sites on either side of us so we didn’t feel like we were near others. Judy was so welcoming and responsive. The bathrooms are “NICE NICE NICE” as advertised and pretty cool as they are in a silo. The llamas, pups, and cats around the place were so much fun to be around. It was such a peaceful retreat for the weekend. We will definitely be back! Very family friendly or if you want to keep to yourselves that’s easy too :)

2 nights at Seven Acres Campground

Joey and Cindy recently set up a gazebo! It has a mini table fire, cushioned seats, and a large speaker. It was very comforting to use for warmth, especially since we went during a really windy time. Cindy and Joey were very sweet and informative and gave us tips for our 3 day trip. The claw tub is also massive and perfect for showering and bathing. This was a very peaceful and cozy getaway!

The Victorian room is furnished from the turn of the century with a few modern conveniences thrown in.

2 nights at Seven Acres Campground

We had a super cozy and relaxing stay! The bathhouse was actually really nice and the heater in it could get it toasty in there (it got pretty cold at night when we went). The cabin was warm too of course, I just didn't expect to spend so much time in a bathroom while camping (there is a huge claw foot tub in there that was too tempting for us). There was a surprise in the middle of the campsite when we got there, a gazebo just got added which was a really cool bonus since we got to be the first to take it for a spin. It was super windy so unfortunately a campfire was out of the question (this was a problem for anyone out camping so what can you do). Luckily the gazebo that Joey & Cindy added had a pretty wind proof gas powered fire to sit around in it so that saved the day. There is also a grill so we were able to still cook no problem too of course. We definitely recommend staying!

Super cute place. Lots of space and not crowded. Outhouse restroom was clean. Campsite was nice with fire pit chairs, a picnic table & a jr size picnic table. Staff were very friendly & accommodating, though we didn’t need much. My only wish was that there was somewhere to deposit the trash at the exit, so we didn’t have to drive around with it searching for a place to dump it.

Beautiful nature and native wildlife. Tom gave us a tour of his animals, explain what they do, and let us hold a baby lamb! Definitely one of favorite camping trips ever and can't wait to come back.

The outhouse was kept clean and the new bathrooms were really nice. The llamas soo friendly. It was so nice we were checked in on. The various picnic tables and set ups are super nice! This is somewhere I want to keep coming again and make a tradition of. It was nice to see other families and kids having such a good time and still feel privacy at our spot Pond in the Pasture. Absolutely wonderful! Some of the best memories roasting rice crispies! Reading. Enjoying all the cool birds I have never seen. All the sounds. The woodpecker in the morning and owls at night!

Property has been in family since 1987. The land has a rich history of wild boars and other wildlife. There is a live creek that runs along one of the property lines and is 50 ft deep. Pastures are mowed three times a year and always look beautiful. There is some terrain that is rough and the land has not been traveled. Bring machetes and a compass (We are not a rescue team). The land is ready to be loved by our visitors. The llamas will come to greet you and so will many more things in this wonderful place. M-Rockin-C Ranch, owned and operated by retired US veteran, is raising egg laying chickens, pastured boiler chickens, goats (Nigerian Dwarfs, Pygmy and a Nigerian-Pygmy cross), rabbits (California - meat/pets) and also have grass-fed beef (Brangus, Angus and F1 Hybrids). We have expanded our rabbitry soon to include Rex and Harlequin breeds as well. The drought of 2022 and 2023 caused us to have to cut fencing which we are still working to repair in order to bring back our heritage hogs. Turkeys are raised only when pre-paid by customers. We are currently working to get bees again for local harvested honey in Houston County, Texas. All my poultry and livestock are free ranged and live on pasture supplemented with non-GMO feeds using no antibiotics or hormones. My goal is growing all the livestock in an environment outside where they can live normal lives eating bugs and grass, enjoying the sun and rain and through holistic management creating more sustainable pastureland for the future. Our main rule is please enjoy observing the ranch life but do not harass the animals. We live in the country please do not be too loud or cross outside of our ranch boundaries. My neighbors have lived here or moved here for their own peace and solitude as well... be respectful of that and enjoy your stay in the country. The ranch is located in the Piney Woods of eastern Texas and consists of 95.26 acres mostly in open grazing land with dispersed pine and oak trees in small groupings and along the fence lines. The ranch has a nearly a 1/4-acre upper pond and an elongated narrower lake that is close to 1 and a 1/2-acre below the upper pond to the west. There is a fenced in just over 1/2 acre area just north of the upper pond. The ponds gain water from natural spring flow and rainwater. Cook Creek runs through the entrance area off of FM 2022 on the northwest side of the property. The creek is year-round but normally is only a few inches deep but does have a few deeper pools of water. The ranch has about 65+ acres of gentle rolling hills of open pasture. The pastures consist of bahia, maxio and angusta ryegrasses, with mostly coastal grasses with some red and white clover mixed with natives. The ranch also has a diverse group of wildlife including but not limited to coyotes, white tail deer, roadrunners, racoons, possums, wild pigs and hawks of different species. We have spotted a golden eagle on the ranch within the last few months. We have a couple juvenile bald eagles on the north-northwest side of the property. Our large great blue heron is back from his migration south. Several kingfishers are nesting near the large lake. Several other migratory birds and waterfowl also traverse the ranch during their travels north and south through the area. The night sky is amazing! If nothing else brings you here. You must come enjoy the view of the milky way and thousands of stars visible in our south-east Texas night sky. Photos of the night sky have been added to the listing... do not miss them! I really enjoy just leaning back in a zero-gravity chair and getting to view the sky when not looking through my 8in Meade Coma-Free Smith-Cassegrain telescope. I often have the scope setup and visitors are more than welcome to come view the wonders that our night sky has to offer on most clear nights. Bring apples and carrots to get close to our draft mules and horses. They will love you for the treats and offer great photo opportunities for those treats. They might follow you back to your campsite though if they get too be too much trouble just shoo or scare them away. Bring a fishing pole to see if you have any luck catching a bream, sunfish, small mouth or largemouth bass. We do have turtles as well. The biggest and meanest is the alligator snapping turtles best to just cut the line than try to take your hook or lure back from these guys.
