Weekend Trip to Wild and Boujee Ranch

A beautiful private property on the Colorado River, with everything we needed. There is no sewer hook up, but otherwise, it was an easy set up. It is a true hill country feel, with rolling pastures and sounds of nature. We loved it.

Plenty of space to camp and most of the ground is flat which made picking a spot pretty easy. There is only one accessible part to the river but it was a short walk and has a picnic table.

Super great place!! I was by myself and felt safe and enjoyed the tranquil scenery with tons of birds and wild life. The creek was perfect! Host were available if I needed anything. I will definitely be going back!!

I love camping here, it is very peaceful, everything is clean and organized. Hollie and Davey are very nice and always checking on you. Favorite part their Director of guest services (their lovely dog Shasta) is beautiful and very friendly. I will keep coming here, totally worth it for a getaway camping.

Camping at Geronimo's land reminded me of camping as a Boy Scout in my early teens. It was awesome to share the nostalgia with my daughter as we roasted marshmallows over the campfire. We were able to enjoy all that the place had to offer, like the rope swing into the frigid Colorado river, fishing poles available at the riverside, the strategically placed hammock providing a peaceful, relaxing view of the water and even the little old play park. Our stay was uninterrupted, except for the welcomed firewood delivery on the first night. This facilitated the great Daddy-Daughter Camping tradition we have come to enjoy annually. PS. This is not glamping, this place is for REAL CAMPERS (you know yourselves).

Weekend Trip to Morrison Farm and Stables

Stayed here for 1 night, it’s just what I needed while I was in town. Parked my truck on the flattest part I could find by the pond and set up camp and enjoyed the view of the night sky. Some horses were roaming at night but never approached, along with a pretty good amount of sheep in the morning. Expected, and it never smelled bad, so I didn’t mind. Cool spot, I’d come back again.

6 of us camped out right by the river. The host crew was extremely accommodating making sure we had enough wood, and offering us the fish they caught! It felt secluded and like our own little slice of paradise. We will definitely be returning as soon as we can!!

We camped here on a cross country bike trip. Nice to be able to set up a tent and be so close to town. We didn’t have the chance to meet Sonya but David was very kind and welcoming to us.

The place is private, quiet, and the sounds of animals at night is very peaceful. Hosts are very respectful. I would definitely recommend if you need a place to rest for the night without hitting the wallet too hard.

Amazing hosts and beautiful property! Lots of horses and soft grass. Went fishing at the lake nearby a caught some lovely blue gills, perches and a bass! Went horseback riding as well and BA was sweet and well mannered! The hosts stopped by to greet us upon arrival and checked in with us throughout our stay. Great trip, will be going again!

Our family loved the privacy, creek, pizza oven area and large stones around the firepit. The cows were so cute and the family was helpful in bringing some extra firewood for us. We definitely look forward to coming back again! There is a bit of a slope down to the creek but the rope to climb back up was especially helpful for our son.

This was a nice spot with lots of open spaces, both up by the RV site and down by the river. We were close to Bastrop State Park and downtown Bastrop for shopping and restaurants. The new pad sites overlooked the river below. Please note that there are electrical hookups at the pads but water and sewer are by the front entrance of the property.

Amazing camping grounds. It’s very close to the water where you can picnic, fish, and enjoy the waters. I’d definitely come back on a cooler day!

1 night at Morrison Farm and Stables

Gerard’s farm was so perfect for viewing the lunar eclipse! He was very attentive and made sure I had all the info I needed, and even with an after-dark late arrival he helped me to find my spot. The land itself was absolutely gorgeous, and it was so special to wake up with the horses and sheep.

The large oak and pecan trees amid the rolling green hills of this gorgeous ranch land are nestled on the banks of the lazy Colorado River. Swim, kayak, or canoe...but there’s no better way to beat the legendary Texas heat than by grabbing an inner tube and enjoying a calm, steady float along a river known for an abundance of fossils and its wildlife. Bring your own tubes, kayaks and canoes, we are currently replenishing our inventory. Or perhaps you prefer to fish the shady tree-lined banks. Either way, you'll see a variety of birds while you relax on or beside the cool waters of the Colorado River. We're kid and dog friendly (leashes mandatory) and we love musicians. Bring an instrument and join us for an impromptu jam session in our special events room or around the campfire. Cook dinner on our BBQ pit. Firewood is available onsite A few rules... 1. Check in is before sunset. We ask that all Hipcampers wait at gate for staff to guide you to your location for safety reasons. Contact us if you arrive ahead of schedule. 2. No wondering by the upper level cabins (these are private property). Showers are behind these cabins. Please respect staff spaces. 3. If you have an extra vehicle, please park it with your other vehicle. 4. If you have a 3rd extra vehicle, let us know and we will direct you where to park it. 5. There are plenty of nooks and crannies to explore and gorgeous views of the Texas horizons....time your stay just right and you can stand directly between the sunset and the moonrise! We also have a hike-and-bike, nature trail that offers a 360 loop around the property. We have a new construction Bath House on site for restroom needs w/ hot showers and composting potties plus a cold-water sink w/ non-potable water suited for washing produce, hands, dishes or camping gear.

Beautiful views from every vantage with a high field on one half of the property and a low bottom land near the creek where there are many options for a relaxing, private stay. Chose big sky or a more secluded spot. Incredible wildflowers on display in the spring. The property is not bordered by close neighbors or dense housing, just more land so sunsets and rises are wonderful and open. Low ambient light pollution at night means the stars are very bright (and so are the fireflies)! Guests are required to communicate estimated time of arrival well in advance. When arriving, make sure to meet Aaron or a designate at the red gate before entering further into the property. If tent camping, please do not bring glass containers, also you must pack out all garbage and waste. Inquire ahead of time to see if firewood is available to be gathered on site, or if you will need to bring your own. No uninvited guests without 24 hour prior approval, and additional guest fees paid. Also please no more than one dog per site.
