This was a fantastic campsite for the two of us and our teardrop trailer. The hillside provided great shade, and we spotted plenty of birds — even a couple of foxes. The site includes two restrooms and an outdoor shower, all clean and convenient. We had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend Kambrah’s spot to anyone.

Very nice park. Site 29 had a water view of the lake. Beautiful grotto-like pool area with hot tub. Excellent infrastructure, appropriate RV voltage at post, good water pressure, good WiFi. Lounge area next to office with TV, games, coffee service, and microwave. Office staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. They also have a rally hall with kitchen available for RV rallies. Cabin rentals also available. Boat ramp and kayak rentals are also available. Located literally next to Buchanan Dam on the north end. This was formerly Big Chief RV Park for years, now under new ownership. Highly recommended.

Great spot to camp and super friendly host! We were supposed to have a tent site but needed to car camp, and the host was super flexible and understanding. She went above and beyond to help us when we arrived. We had great communication with the resort making our stay very simple and easy. Would definitely recommend to anyone planning on stopping in this area.

I loved tent camping here. We had a very quiet site next to the entrance. The clubhouse was wonderful and also had popcorn available for us to have. The bathrooms were immaculate and just spotless. There was coffee in the morning and water for all of us. The caretaker also was very inviting and helpful. She was just a very understanding lady. It was just a wonderful experience and I would stay here again.

We loved ringing in the new year at Marlena’s space. Every single detail was accounted for, from the hammocks to the fire circle to the cozy outdoor kitchen, right down to the complimentary eggs from their chickens. We brought our 7 year olds along, who rated their experience a 10/10. Our pups would have rated it the same! We cannot wait to plan our return.

Wonderful place. Lots of little touches that make it comfortable. It was rainy: two giant umbrellas. We tracked some dirt in: little brooms to clean up. We wanted some hot tea to warm up: a collection of every HEB flavor. The bed was super comfortable and we stayed cozy at 44F using the gas heater and leaving the windows open. Oh and the showers were hot. 100% great spot.

We had the most phenomenal stay at this camping spot. It’s the perfect balance of “roughing it” while still enjoying comforts like hot water and minimal electricity. The Airstream was fully stocked with everything we could possibly need, and the hosts’ attention to detail and communication were incredible. The location was wonderfully secluded, providing a peaceful sanctuary to disconnect from life and reconnect with ourselves. We were lucky to visit during a full moon, which made our nighttime walks magical—no flashlights needed! The weather was perfect for nightly fires, and we absolutely loved lounging in the hammocks, reading, napping, and soaking in the sounds of nature. It’s clear the couple who created this space poured so much love and care into curating a little piece of healing heaven. We left feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and deeply grateful for our time there. We can’t wait to return and share this special place with friends.
