As I arrived. Erin met me at the site. Provided firewood if needed. Her husband came by to see if I needed assistance erecting my tent. Showed me the fossils that could be found on the site. The pricing was reasonable. We will be regular customers in the future.

Loved how inviting the host was. She came early to feed the animals just to accommodate our schedule and allowed our girls the opportunity to meet animals and feed them. They even got to give them a sweet treat before we pulled out and enjoyed every second of it.

We went tent camping on Kegans land and had a great time. We loved the bridge and the sky full of stars. Campsites right by the river with firepits, grills, picnic tables and a bathroom with a shower. We were very happy.

Weekend Trip to The Tailgate Ranch
First it is better looking in person. I loved the out building that we were able to use. There was indoor and outdoor shower which was nice. The cats stayed with us the entire time and escorted us around the property. I don’t really care for cats that much but those cats had me considering getting some. The camper had everything we needed. Thanks for the grill and checking to make sure we had clean towels. Beautiful place

The land is so beautiful. The variety of wildflowers was beautiful and refreshing. My son had tons of fun hanging out with hank (the dog) and the goats. We found tons of cool stuff "exploring" the cedar groves and the small creek. He even got to give his mom a big bouquet of wildflowers when we got home.
Dave was very welcoming, and a very chill host, lol. Let us have a little fire and camp wherever we wanted.
Definitely got a repeat visitor in my son, lol.
Plus, it's a hop and a skip from Mother Neff.

It was a nice quiet campground right next to the suspension bridge. You can easily access the bridge for pictures. Camp also had river access, but it was muddy the day we stayed.

It was exactly as advertised. The river was low. Rainfall is needed. But….we will stay there again. If you want a camping experience off the beaten path, this is it. Only cars heard were those coming to and from the campground. The bridge is super cool. Place was clean. Hosts were attentive. Thanks!

Two other campers in the park while I was there. One was most kind, helping to back in my trailer.
Although there is lots of road noise from the traffic, it was quiet overnight.
A huge rooster stopped by in the morning to make sure I was awake.

Our family came to the ranch for a quick getaway over the kids’ spring break and had the best time. The accommodations were terrific - super clean, all that we needed was provided, even some extra board games for the kids to play. The town of Hico was close and super charming. Kara, our host and her husband even met us one evening so that the kids could feed the animals and she was extremely helpful and responsive throughout our entire stay. Highly recommend!

Absolutely beautiful perfectly manicured landscaped resort campground. The swimming pool was also at a resort quality level. The campground was hilly making the views breathtaking. Everything was so well maintained and clean. Will definitely recommend FireFly campgrounds to family and friends as well as go back there myself.

We enjoyed tent/car camping at The Tailgate Ranch. Our host Julia greeted us on arrival and made sure we had everything we needed and made herself available if we had questions. This is a great place for camping and boondocking The ground is level and cleared with lots of space. The overall location is perfect. We used it as a home base to go explore nearby towns like Hico and Glen Rose and Dinosaur Valley State Park. The restroom was clean and comfortable with air and heating if needed. There are indoor and outdoor showers and also an outdoor kitchen sink with hot water. This is a pet friendly place with resident dogs and cats who will come say hello. If you're in the area definitely choose Julia's place to stay!

It was a nice cool night! While most state parks were booked on a Saturday night. Coyotes were howling at night.. made it perfect!!

We enjoyed camping on Kegan's remote, interesting land. It was a perfect place for a one night stop. The directions were easy. Wifi worked great. We woke up to about a dozen Turkey roaming around camp!
