The entire water lily plant is edible, did you know? Swim, hang out, cool down on the small swimming dock. Canoe and kayak included! The historic Murchison mansion is an iconic structure in the midst of the vines. Onsite tasting room and restaurant with share plates and full meals. In 2023, we have added a beautiful 50 ft pool with lovely water features, there is an activity fee to use the pool. Please plan to arrive before dark, so you can get settled in the daylight. If you would like a beautiful view of the winery property, ground camping throughout the vineyard is available and most popular ! There is quick access to our winery and food service if you prefer to relax under our covered patio, or pick up a rib eye or filet  from the chef and cook it yourself on your propane grill our our community grill. Thanksgiving weekend, our first Hipcamp stay. The site is as described and perfect for our visit. Not having sewer hookups is a non-issue if you manage water usage. There is a CEFCO gas station a few miles south on hwy 259 that has an rv dump station for a small fee. We did not meet the host but she was quick to respond to our emails. Thank you Adrienne for the stay.

Our trip on Christopher’s land was fantastic! The property was beautiful and a wonderful escape from the city. The pond was a really nice element, and we manage to catch a perch and a bass before a cold front came in. Christopher was very attentive and even brought us extra firewood when we requested it after arrival! His hospitality was extraordinary. The process was very simple and I would certainly return to this spot in the future.

Had an awesome tent camping experience here at Tara Vineyard and Winery! First of there are adorable animals 💜. Secondly the bathroom amenities were super clean! Note that the shower is an outdoor shower so be sure to bring a bathing suit to shower in. The shower water was lukewarm, but honestly didn’t bother me. Overall had a great time camping here. Sadly, we didn’t make time to try out the winery, but guess we’ll have to come back and try it out! The charcuterie boards looked amazing though 😍!

Such a beautiful spot! Very quiet, tons of trees, cutesy fire wood, chairs, sinks, trails. Loved my time there. Will definitely book again. 60 acres to roam and I was lucky to catch the leaves changing. They’re serious about allowing dogs off leash. Not an issue for me. I love dogs and enjoyed my several sweet dog visitors.

Jill and Anthony have a great place. Super clean campground. We loved that it's so dog friendly. The outdoor shower and close bathroom were super appreciated. The Nest felt very secluded and was exactly what we were looking for. The picnic table was used and enjoyed as well as the fire pit box.

Great quiet little spot. Will definitely be back. I would warn that it is a tight fit for larger RVs. Mine is 27’ and I arrived at night so it was a little tricky getting in. I recommend entering the north entrance. The spot its self was spacious and the host was very nice.

I very much enjoyed my stay here. Very private and the lake was so peaceful. It’s probably too small for motorboats (that’s a good thing in my book) but big enough for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. I loved hearing the chorus of frogs and the blips of light from the fireflies. It’s not the easiest to get to, but the directions provided by the host were excellent. They meet you at the gate and give you a tour of the facilities. You can text if you have any trouble or questions, but otherwise leave you alone to enjoy your stay. AT&T was one bar, but there is enough clearing for Starlink if you need that. I saw some of the comments saying you need 4wd to get there. You don’t unless it’s been raining. Just take it slow. I never once put it in 4wd. Higher clearance helps but not necessary. If you question this, just contact the host. I’m sure they will advise you on the best decision. Being August in East Texas, I thought I would be miserably hot, but it was about 10 degrees cooler there. The shade from the trees was quite adequate so no need for a canopy. I didn’t have a fire, but firewood is available for a fee. The picnic table is level which is good for cooking on a propane stove. The tent area has some pitch to it. I stay in my Jeep, so I just use rocks for leveling. I would definitely stay here again. I travel extensively staying mostly in primitive public lands. Texas has very few places like that, so I prefer to support local landowners over the commercial campgrounds.

What a peaceful and well-equipped site! Host provided detailed instructions, and we received a warm welcome upon arrival. We stayed at Site 1 and enjoyed the pond in the morning and the fireflies in the evening. The grounds included a bathhouse complete with sink, toilet and shower (with hot water). Location is convenient to the Canton Fairgrounds (which is the purpose of our visit), and we found the site provided the extra benefit and contrast being in nature without the hustle and bustle of the festivities and crowds.
