The campground is an easy distance to Downtown Knoxville and an even easier access to all that South Knox's Urban Wilderness has to offer. It uniquely offers a hint of backcountry camping without the 25-mile hike in. It is a great way to test the waters for primitive camping or an easy stop close to the city for a seasoned traveler. It is best suited for car camping, RVs, tent, and hammock camping. There are fire pits and picnic tables at each site with enough room for tents and RVs. Most sites have trees suitable for hammock camping all along the creek. There is potable water, firewood for sale, solar showers, and a bike wash stand all next to the covered communal area. Each standard site can accommodate 2 people to keep space between groups and lessen the impact on the land. Sites 10 and 13 can each accommodate 6 guests. If you have more in your group, we recommend reserving an adjoining campsite. Sites 1, 2 and 3 are off the main path to the left of the property, and still by the creek. Sites 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are all along the creek and gravel drive Site 10 is very private with creek access on three sides. Site 11 is private with creek access all along the front. Weekend Trip to Eads Bluff Farm

Loved the stay here, the view was awesome and it was quiet. My dog loved running around. Firewood was enough to last two full days and there’s were three spots, one closeksh to the house, one midway, and one at the top of the hill near the outhouse. The drive in was easy and stores are within a 10-15 minute drive and no traffic!

Weekend Trip to Lil Snowbird Farm Primitive Camping

Andrew was an amazing host he checked in on us and also brought our wood up since he happened to be there during our stay. The camps are well spaced and the toilets were very clean as well as the shelter over them. The ground was well maintained and not over grown. It’s a beautiful drive going up to the campground and into the small town. We will definitely stay again.

This is our second Thanksgiving spent at the caboose. It was a great experience both last time and this time. Having firewood at our disposal is great; our dog loved to run up and down the hill; the house is on a busy road, but it never bothered us at all. Can't wait to stay next Thanksgiving. Thanks, Mark!

Tim was simply over-the-top friendly and helpful. He was very responsive and has a great stream flowing by the campsites. We had a great time and would certainly camp there again.

You are definitely in the mountains now! shelter is hand crafted from all rough sawn locally sourced wood from the site or from Fannin County forests.

Another great trip to the Cove! For anyone who comes right after us, we set up your first fire logs in the firepit. We brought our own firewood but you’ll find enough logs in the wood crib to do about two fires, plus the giant stumps that are great to prolong the fire if you can get one going. George also has a bale of pine straw in there which is super helpful to get a fire started. My whole review is about fires, can you tell it was cold while we were there haha! Saw several deer and hawks. Lots of stars and quiet.

Brian has created something so incredibly special here! We stayed at Diamondstone and he has added many special touches- the electric candles, little propane stove, wooden benches and handrails.... He is also INCREDIBLY responsive! We could not figure out how to work the padlock to get into the cabin (note: the numbers must be lined up in the GREEN section of the lock) but he answered right away even though it was 10pm (second note: there is no cell service there so you have to go a ways to find it). The cabin is not insulated and the stove does not put out much heat, so if you're coming in winter make sure you have good cold weather gear. My son set up his tent outside and as we both brought winter gear we had an wonderful, peaceful time reconnecting with nature and each other. Thank you Brian for being a wonderful host and creating such a special place.

This was our third time camping here, and it was another amazing experience! It's peaceful but close enough to restaurants and stores. The site is fairly level, the internet is fast, and everything works as expected. We plan to be back! Our dogs love it too!

Loved tent camping on Big Ian! The views were incredible. We also walked down to enjoy the river. Andy was a great host. Very welcoming and always made sure we had everything we needed. Highly reccommed!

Weekend Trip to Mountain Creek Rest

I cannot recommend this campsite enough. The sound of the creek flowing right beside the site was beautiful and made the entire stay feel calm and peaceful. The campsite itself was spacious, giving my dogs plenty of room to roam off leash while still letting me keep a close eye on them. I also loved having the island trail just a few steps away for easy exploring. It was everything I needed for a simple, stress-free camping trip that still felt secluded and quiet. Perfect in every way. I hope to visit again soon!

The Islandsite is probably one of, if not the most unique and beautiful campsites I’ve stayed at. Brian communicated everything we needed to know ahead of our arrival. We will definitely be returning. Highly recommend bringing everything you plan on needing before arriving as the road into town is quite lengthy.
