Hang out in our land for your whole visit checking out the holler we live in, dunk in the creek by the road, or drive over the hill to Center Hill Marine, or across the dam to Edgar Evins State park, or canoe the Caney Fork River! Sorry - No dogs please. Kayaking and fishing is also so close you can almost hear it - but you can't. Which is good.  Our property has a composting outhouse and the outdoor shower attached to the house has hot and cold water. We also have a nice, outdoor kitchen area to share that has a big sink and blackstone griddle. There is Wifi in the kitchen area and a plug for recharging devices. The camp site is a two-minute walk from the driveway and outhouse so be prepared to carry items in and take your morning constitutional walk.  We sometimes have homestead-produced items for sale. This is a functioning homestead, so we may be hosting an open house event, processing animals, or some other fun homestead happening activity during your stay.

We discovered this small homestead 18 years ago. It was built by a man preparing to go off grid, but he never did. In the intervening time, we became enthralled with growing vegetables, raising ducks, grazing sheep and hiking the hills behind us. Then Nicole discovered permaculture and began the process of changing the land using these practices. With our three dogs, cats, goats, sheep, rabbits, ducks and chicken (there is only one chicken), things can be pretty merry around her. There are aquaponics and hydroponics to check out for fun. Plus, Nicole is one of the region's only craft coffee roasters, so you are in for a treat if you come visit and like coffee because she tends to make coffee most mornings. Learn more about this land: Hang your hammock or pitch your tent in the back acres of a small homestead integrating permaculture practices. Hang out in our land for your whole visit checking out the holler we live in, dunk in the creek by the road, or drive over the hill to Center Hill Marine, or across the dam to Edgar Evins State park, or canoe the Caney Fork River! Sorry - No dogs please. Kayaking and fishing is also so close you can almost hear it - but you can't. Which is good.  Our property has a composting outhouse and the outdoor shower attached to the house has hot and cold water. We also have a nice, outdoor kitchen area to share that has a big sink and blackstone griddle. There is Wifi in the kitchen area and a plug for recharging devices. The camp site is a two-minute walk from the driveway and outhouse so be prepared to carry items in and take your morning constitutional walk.  We sometimes have homestead-produced items for sale. This is a functioning homestead, so we may be hosting an open house event, processing animals, or some other fun homestead happening activity during your stay.

We loved it! The cabin is cozy and cute! Plenty of hiking onsite and friendly dogs/cats to keep you company! Helga was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. She gave great local recommendations and even had fire wood ready for us on arrival! This was great because it had rained the day prior and we had dry wood! The hiking on her property is beautiful. Plenty of rock formations and views. Thank you for a great stay!

Great area to explore and thankful for a safe location to park the rv with hookups. Jenny and Tim made everything feel like home. They were closeby and helpful when needed however allowed for privacy . The dogs were able to explore the field and be a little feral in nature.

this place was perfect for our 25ft rv and our dogs! they enjoyed the wide open space and were very interested in the goats and chickens. the space was a little less private than i would prefer but it wasn’t an issue at all. robert was very nice and attentive, we loved this site and will definitely be back!

A charming little cabin on a beautiful property! I stayed here with my three dogs, and they loved having the space to roam freely. The cabin was cozy and comfortable, and the modern bathroom was a nice touch. Both the main room and the bathroom have their own window unit. We had a GREAT stay!! Jon-Roy was very responsive and helpful. It was cool to see the cows!! And the tent was exactly as described and even had a heater which we never used because the tent held enough heat (even though it was a little chilly outside). The amenities were great and he really thought of everything. We got a great night sleep and will definitely be back. The little walk to the site wasn’t bad at all. Definitely glad we got there in the daytime otherwise it would have been tough to get to it. We loved our quiet little escape and will be back!

I've been using Hip Camp for two years, and this was by far the most beautiful place I've stayed. I was met by the hosts who helped me back in and make sure everything was ready for me. Perfect level pad with full hook-ups. Only 2 sites, and I was the only one there. Very peaceful with a really pretty forest with trails behind my site. I highly recommend this location. I hope to come back someday!

This is a tranquil, very private alternative to crowded, noisy park campgrounds. We stayed just one night in a tent on a cross country trip. The chickens and goats made us feel right at home and would be fun if you are traveling with young children. Communication with Robert was always prompt and accurate and we felt welcome and safe in this space.
