This was the BEST place we have stayed in a long time! Bear Den Cabins and Camp was the friendliest, cleanest, comfortable rental. Tammy greats you upon arrival and gives a tour of the grounds, which includes the cleanest bathrooms and showers. A washer and dryer are available, and ice is available for campers to use. The cabins and tents are extremely comfortable. The beds are great! Two pavilions are available to grill in, or sit and talk to other campers if you choose. The only thing that I would change is that they move the camp to New York. But we will drive 1700 miles again to stay there. It’s so convenient to Custer State Park, Needles Highway, Iron Mountain Highway, Sylvan Lake. If you’re lucky, you might come up on some kids selling iced tea during your travels. We can’t say enough about Bear Den Cabins and Camp. You definitely would enjoy your stay.

What a gem of a hip camp spot (so is Tammy). 10/10 for communication with Tammy! Glamping for the win. Great rate, roomy camp tent, queen size bed was very comfy, stylish furniture; grilled our steaks in a full size covered area with light, tables, and chairs! The bathrooms are better than any camp ground we have EVER stayed at. We will stay here again when in the area and bring more people and spend more time in the area!

We just can't say enough positive things about Tammy and her Bears Den camping site. Shes a genuine caring person who has created a beautiful property. We stayed in the Nutty Bear site, that literally had everything we needed. From clean soft towels to spotless bathrooms and showers, everything is provided. Since there was a burn ban, she provided a propane fire bowl. You can tell she really cares and this stay is on par with the best B&B's. In addition, the location is fantastic- near all the major parks, yet its far enough away to keep it peaceful and relaxing. We just loved our stay.

I can't recommend this place enough. It's one of those places that is so great, you want to keep it to yourself. And at the same time you want to shout it from the mt tops! Tammy and Tim are fabulous hosts that know the area really well. They have created a beautiful little spot with many amenities. It's cozy, inviting and so clean! We are already making plans to go back.

BADLANDS BUNKHOUSE Prairie Retreat, a cozy 12’ x 14’ insulated cabin with a tiny kitchen, stovetop, fridge, sink, basic kitchen supplies, TV, AC and heat. The BADLANDS BATHHOUSE in the background is also part of your private site, and has a compost toilet and hot/cold shower.

Weekend Trip to Black Hills & Badlands Sunrise &Set

If everyone in South Dakota is as kind as Susi and Dan, then SD is the nicest state in the country. We loved our stay in the Bunkhouse, it had everything we needed and their land is beyond beautiful. Would definitely recommend.

I LOVED the night sky here, and also the birdwatching in the morning! There were so many stars here. So beautiful

Weekend Trip to Bear Den Cabins & Camp

I LOVED camping at Bear Den and I wish I had a longer trip! Tammy has a very clean and well-stocked campsite which completely exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend staying here and I hope I can come back! We saw the northern lights here on our first night. I loved it so much that I did end up staying an extra night, and knowing I had a comfy bed with a hot shower to come back to was just the best. That last day of my trip made all the difference in turning a good trip into a great one. Thank you so much Tammy!

1 night at Fort Welikit Campground

Me and my boyfriend were planning on tent camping, saw the wagon listing and couldn't resist! It was pretty spacious with storage. We easily fit a full air mattress, probably could fit a queen. There was a cute little park and dog park. There were many bathrooms and they were all clean from what I saw. It was busy being 4th of July weekend, but it was still pretty private. They had ice and firewood for sale which was super convenient. Definitely would recommend in the future!

WOW, WOW, WOW what can I say. This place totally met and far exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for a comfy and cozy stay look no further. Yes its off the beaten path and yes its secluded but man oh man does that make it perfect. Pair that with amazing bathrooms and showers and laundry services its 10/10 for me. I have stayed at MANY Hipcamp locations and this quickly became my favorite. Amazing hosts as well that go above and beyond. Please do not change anything !
