Mike's country home and land

11 sites · Lodging50 acres · Rock Hill, SC
Welcome to Creekside FarmCreekside Farm is a place where you can slow down and enjoy things you might not normally notice. We are glad you are Here.We invite you to sit back, take your shoes off, and breathe deeply as you read this – slowly.Creekside is very special place where you, and those important to you can unplug and gently "be" with eachother. My wife Beth and I fell in love with this property because it has a unique way of calling us out of our busy livesand into a meaningful space of connection with our senses, each other and those we care about. We hope youhave the chance to experience this on your visit. In my work as a leadership consultant and executive coach I've had the opportunity to find a few "bestpractices" for a meaningful experience of life. I offer them to you below should you want to try them out duringyour visit. I promise they will impact your time here - and your time when you leave here - tremendously:Being and DoingSometimes it’s just fine to sit down and not do anything.Experience and CaptureSometimes you don’t need to capture an experience, just experience it.Quality and QuantitySometimes quality of life is more satisfying than quantity of life. Maybe less is more.Sensing and ThinkingSometimes thinking is overrated. Sitting still and sensing what is right in front of us can be eye-opening.Silence and NoiseSometimes saying nothing says everything. Turning off the phones and devices and listening to the nature’ssounds can further awaken and resensitize us.Below you will find information about this special place. It includes invitations, requests and details about howthings work here at the farm.We invite you...1. To use your time here to nourish your Self, Spirit and Body. Walk, breathe, smell, touch, see, and taste whatyou desire.2. To put away your phones and devices and be with the people you are here with.3. To remove your shoes when in the home and feel the floor under your feet.4. To be outside whenever you can. There is goodness out there. Go anywhere you want on property, it isbordered by the creek.5. To eat slowly, talk slowly, walk slowly and just hang.

Rosewood Farm and Agripark

100 sites · Lodging200 acres · Winnsboro, SC
Rosewood Farm and Agripark is my home. I honestly had about the most amazing childhood one could have on this very land! We hunted, fished, made mud pies and played outside for hours, as long as we were in shouting distance for supper time! I am so fortunate to be the daughter of two amazing parents, who had a dream to build a working farm from nothing more than a logging trail in the woods. They built a 3 story, 10,000 square foot house by themselves- while raising a family! We have 200 acres of farmland that features rolling hills, multiple ponds, creeks, farm animals, show horses and countless wildlife viewing opportunities. Wild turkey and deer roam free all over the farm, coveys of dove fly out from the pastures and trails, and coyotes howl in the night. Listen to the frogs croaking, crickets chirping and whipporwhills calling every evening under a magical blanket of stars. Take a guided horseback ride or nature hike through the trails that meander through the woods around the park. Our newest venture is to offer primitive camping and some cabin rentals around our 60 acre Agripark! For those wanting to step it up a notch, we have erected a large concrete floor, covered event barn (for parties, family reunions, weddings, cowboy church, etc..,) and also a huge petting zoo barn with an area behind it for pony rides and 4-h/FFA functions. Also, a special historic Iron Horse miniature train and one mile of track has been purchased to go around the park! A greenhouse is being erected next, that will teach people about aquaponics and hydroponics! We have a rock wall, jumping pillow and many inflatables for the littles to enjoy too! Many things are on the immediate horizon for this special property. While we are under heavy construction at the moment in some areas of the park, many amenities are currently available. Why not unplug from the daily grind and spend time with those that matter most? My goal is to make this land as magical for your family as it has been for mine!

The property entrance opens to a gravel drive in, it is the only way in and out! There is a small spot on the left side as you drive in - that is the power line right of way that opens to gorgeous Mountain View’s in fall, winter and spring. In the summer the leaves fill in and there is still a beautiful view just not as detailed, if you will. That area has a few Crape Myrtles and shrubs before the mature pines begin again. As you drive in it opens up. The cabin sits to the right of the property. The side yard and back yard is where all the fun stuff is located table, chairs, hammock, fire place, horseshoes and more seating, with seasonal flowers, tree art, bird houses and shrubs throughout. The front is where you will find humming birds and many other birds that raise there young in the spring so a lot of bird watching and songs goes on throughout the property. When you walk up to the porch you are welcomed by the welcome bear and flowers, “he’s not real” although we do have plenty of deer, Turkey, you could see them crossing the property at anytime! And you may hear a rooster in the mornings because sound travels. As you make your way past the garden flowers to the front door entrance, you will see a nice seating area and grill. When you walk in the front door it opens up to the living room with high ceilings. You will see the sectional sofa and a table with a lovely flower arrangement, to the left an antique unit that has all the movies, games, remote controls, DVD player, TV and the door to the master bedroom. On the living room walls are framed photographs of the South Mountain State park. And there are a few motivational outdoor adventure type art, wildlife and bike decor throughout the home. As you continue to move through the living room you find a semi open floor plan that opens up to the dining, kitchen and laundry area and to the right hallway leading to a bathroom and two more bedrooms. The master bedroom and bath is just off to the left of the living room it has a queen size bed with a cabin charm decor, a double closet for storage of your things and the master bath that has a garden tub with towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner, towels, wash rags and a few extra amenities for the ladies like individual packs of make-up remover and bath bombs please limit to use of stay so everyone gets to share the love and there is no need to pack those. There is a back door leading to a small porch that over looks the big yard side and back in the fall, winter, and spring months it has amazing mountains views. There is also a galvanized trash can to put your trash in when you leave, thank you in advance! The hall bathroom has a stand up shower, and bathing essentials. The towels, wash rags and extra toilet paper can be found in the bathroom closet. And down the hall you will find two more bedrooms one has a twin bed and bunk beds with view of the back yard, pines, Carolina Jasmine and some new trees that just popped up that will add some visual interest so I’m letting that grow, Yeah! The last bedroom has a double bed and an extra TV that plays VHS, find wholesome VHS tapes for the kiddos in the drawers, but parents you must be responsible for the use of this TV and when you book you are agreeing to those terms. There are a few oldies but goodies for older teens as well. The view is of the large open front yard, pine trees and bird house, Crape Myrtle trees, Holly and flowering shrubs. The rooms are comfortable in size, the kitchen has plenty of room and a spacious living room. Just 7 miles away sink into tranquility and reset at the South Mountain State Park where you and your friends, family and pooch can enjoy the largest waterfall in North Carolina, hiking trails, mountain biking, swimming, fishing, picnic area along side of a beautiful-river, visitors center with museum and small theater that features the history of the park.
