We have 21 acres in the sand hills of Calhoun county just outside Columbia S C. Apply named Too Many Oaks Plantation, a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy time in your hammock reading by day and a roaring bonfire by night, We are planting a small mixed fruit orchard and building a chicken coop and garden to enjoy fresh eggs and whatever is in season.
Close to Columbia ( 30 minutes ) for a nice trip to the zoo or a float down the Saluda River with Adventure Carolina. A perfect mix of nice and quite but still close to town. Also just in Synchronous fireflies, which are fireflies that gather and flash their lights at the same time as part of a mating ritual, are expected to light up the Congaree National Park in May. Hanscombe Point Plantation is a 300 acre working farm that has been in the Legare family for 9 generations. We raise beef cows, heritage breeds of pigs, laying hens, and water buffalo. Additionally, we raise vegetables and do a lot of agri-tourism including: summer camps, school field trips, and a large pumpkin patch maze each year.Our accommodations include a vintage camper, primitive campsites along a salt water creek, and an RV area on our farm.We are located just 30 minutes from nearby beaches and downtown Charleston. Use our property as your base of operation as you have fun at the beach or tour the historic city, or just stay for a quiet get away in the woods.There is also a lot of wildlife such as: wild turkeys, woodstorks, raccoons, and alligators. I absolutely had a wonderful time camping at Debra’s place. She was so kind and welcoming. You really don’t meet people that nice anymore. I am bikepacking the Palmetto Trail and her place was the perfect stop along my route. It’s also a short walk to a bar and grill, bonus! Would recommend to anyone looking to primitive camp. Very private too! She also runs a shuttle service for anyone interested!

Black’s Fish Camp is a true treasure. James has thought of everything. The bathroom was clean and homey. There are picnic tables under the shelter with bistro lights along the river as well as a grill for cooking and water for cleanup. Fire pit at the river. James was very responsive with our questions. Quiet and peaceful.

I had such a great time camping here. We were welcomed by cows and donkeys and ducks as soon as we went through the gate! The campsites were beautiful and we found it easy to get in and out of our site. Such a refreshing getaway! Highly recommend. We will be back :)

Very comfortable site with water, 30A and a bath house. Loved the farm animals. Nick greeted us on arrival and Nicole brought a 4 day old baby goat by for us to meet. Great stopover on the way to Florida.

Which state at the same site last year, which is why we booked again for this year. Very clean bath house, washing machine and dryer that had detergent provided. Very peaceful, even though it’s right off the interstate.

What a lovely spot! Convenient, quiet and all that you need. We stayed for 3 nights and will go again I am sure. Enjoyed all the animals especially Rupert the cat, we miss him already! The hosts were fantastic, checked in a couple times and close enough if you need them but you also have privacy.

With several RV sites, and more to come, a Yurt and soon to be 3 insulated geodesic dome cabins, you'll think you're in a high end camping resort at Black Pearl Farms. While really you're in the middle of a working berry farm.
I stayed for a week in the winter so I didn't get to experience the farm in working order. But I can imagine looking out my window at rows and rows of blueberries and lavender. And just a mile or so down the country road is the upper Edisto River, ripe for kayaking and exploring.
I can't say enough about the hosts here. They welcomed me on the road coming in, they checked on me during my stay. And they're building the place on their own. I appreciate hard work especially when it creates a place that's going to be a gem to visit, not that it isn't already!
So, if your heading north or south, or even east or west, look for Black Pearl Farms in South Carolina. You'll be glad you did.

We really enjoyed staying at Debra's. They let us put our tent up back in the thick stand of trees. It was nice and private and we even were able to park our RAV4 back there. They were super hospitable. We will definitely stay there again next time we go through!

We're Charleston locals and wanted to do something fun and spontaneous and be out in nature.
We took our SUV out there, spent the evening grilling steaks over the fire, enjoying the hot tub, and watched a movie in the gazebo before sleeping in the back of our SUV.
This place has everything:
- firewood on site to purchase
- water and electrical hook ups
- high speed internet
- Smart TV under a bug-screened gazebo, so you can eat and chill while watching a movie
- fully furnished bathroom with a washer/dryer if you need to run laundry or just dry off your towels after the hot tub
- outdoor shower with hot water
It was a really cool date night and gave us a chance to get away from work and the city for a quiet night by the fire
