This is a place to get away and enjoy nature but you aren't too far from a local grocery store, a few restaurants and a local park. If you are here for the beach, the closest beach and also our favorite is Cherry Grove Beach, only a 30 minute drive. There are a few kayak rental companies we can connect you to if you'd like and we know all the local spots for adventure, food and shopping. Pick a hammock and relax listening to the birds, we also have an outdoor kitchen to prepare food and community firepits to gather around. 3.5 acre property, last remaining part of old inlet horse farm, with plenty of natural buffers from the few neighbors in our vicinity and between our camp sites, as well as the road. So close to everything the inlet area has to offer. Beaches, tidal inlet with boat ramps, Waccamaw River with boat ramps, restaurants, shops, bars, State Parks, nature preserves, fun attractions and much, much more, all just moments away. We are set up as a “primitive” camping experience, the property is kept very natural, unmanicured for the most part, little to no herbicides or insecticides used here. It’s a work in progress, is difficult for me to tackle chores due to physical disabilities, so some private areas are disorganized at this time. I live here full time, with two cats & 5 chickens whom are all free range.
I live here in a double wide by myself, two outdoor cats. Deer, fox, rabbits, hawks and the like are common visitors. This is brand new to me, lots of improvements to be made in the future to make a guests stay even better, so for right now it’s bare bones. Can accommodate tents or certain campers. No pump out, no electricity or running water for “sites” yet, if ever, but running water is here and available for free.
Additions to come soon: outdoor shower, available compost toilet available for rent while here, fresh herbs, vegetables, fresh local eggs, firewood, and covered gathering/ cooking area (not built yet) and much more, I’m really excited. Open to idea’s and options. No fireworks/ gunfire allowed at anytime, no “parties”, but gatherings, campfires, games and fun always welcome.
I prefer meeting guests apon arrival to answer any questions and help all feel comfortable. I do have medical conditions that may prohibit it at times though.

This was the best boondock camping spots I’ve stayed at thus far. The campsite sat right along the river, giving it a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere from the moment we arrived. Waking up to the sound of the water and being able to sit outside with the river just a few steps away made the experience feel private and scenic.
The area was quiet, open, and perfect for relaxing, cooking outside, fishing, or just enjoying nature without the crowds of a regular campground. Since it was boondocking, there were no major hookups or extra amenities, but that added to the peaceful off-grid feel. It was a great place to disconnect, enjoy the outdoors, and take in the view especially with the deer roaming around. The host was very nice, responsive and very catering to my questions. I really liked that.
Overall, this riverfront boondock camping spot was simple, beautiful, and exactly what camping should feel like. It’s on the top of my list and I’ll definitely be booking it soon AGAIN!

We really enjoyed chatting with him, getting some history about his property, the community and recommendations on where to eat. The Marshwalk and Drunken Jacks were great! Dennis and Melissa were great hosts. They made sure we were welcomed and went above and beyond to give extra information about the area and history of the farm property. It was SUPER QUIET- which we were really looking for. Star views through the longleaf pines with whip-poor-wills calling in the distance was idyllic. The bathroom and shower (did not get a chance to use) were bonus amenities to our usual primitive camping. A great getaway! Thank you for offering these sites on hipcamp!

We stayed 3 nights with our 2 dogs and 2 cats. No problems at all. There are a few spots by the river but stayed in an open field for more space because of our animals. The toilets are kept clean and there is a dumpster for trash. I recommend this place and would visit again. Thank you to Scott and his family for accommodating us!
