There are a few kayak rental companies we can connect you to if you'd like and we know all the local spots for adventure, food and shopping. Pick a hammock and relax listening to the birds, we also have an outdoor kitchen to prepare food and community firepits to gather around. We want this to be a relaxing getaway, to connect with yourself, others and nature.

The entire property is surrounded by a farm drainage ditch on all sides, with random farm drainage ditches to insure the land is dry and a 60’ x 60’ old farm irrigation pond (see satellite photo to know where the ditches are located). There is plenty of seasoned raw wood (from when the property was cleared 4 years ago) laying randomly throughout the property to cut and collect for a camp fire. The land is located off a dirt access road that is well maintained by the county. The county dirt road can provide for hours of peaceful riding via mountain bikes. Campers are more then welcome to cut their own path on the land for their campsite. There is a fire pit by the large tree when first entering the property at Entrance 2 (please see photos for the locations of Entrance 1 and 2). Note: This raw land is unmaintained and was last cleared 4 years ago, photos are from April 2022. The campsite has a large paver stone patio and picnic table. We have a fire pit and when able we would be happy to host a night around the fire. We are pet friendly but request that dogs be on a leash or tie-out. We expect guests to pickup pet "litter". Campers are encouraged to use the swing and chairs set back under the pines. Also campers will find a guest book in the little library under the pine tree with a concrete bench nearby (you drive around in as you pull into the campsite). The book contains our WiFi password (service not guaranteed). Please leave us a note about your stay.

I came here in early November and wound up extending my stay twice because we enjoyed it so much. Connie and Jeff have a beautiful well maintained piece of property with plenty of level ground for the camper. There were several trails I explored with my pets and plenty of wood for fires at night. Plus only a 15 minute drive to the beach. It felt very private and safe the whole time I was there. I hope to be back someday!

Scott was great! The farm was easy to find and the tent area was cozy. It was a beautiful spot right on the river with multiple options for making a fire (fire ring and old fireplace). Scott came to check on me as I was packing up after my stay to make sure everything went well.

Fern Getaway was the perfect spot for us! We are beginner campers and it was really nice to have amenities available to make the experience a little more comfortable. The shower, compost toilet, and grilling station were a gamechanger. Definitely would recommend staying here! Bring food to cook and s'mores for campfire. The shower is cool / lukewarm but it felt great after spending the day in the sun! It's only a 30-35 min drive to Cherry Grove Beach

Camp is great and well kept. Lots of space and very private but still close to anything and everything you could want. It's close to the beach so of course it's going to be hot and humid with mosquitos so be prepared if you have a tent in the hot months!

This was a great experience! The yurt was awesome and the hosts had everything you would need to enjoy yourself. It rained for the 2 days we were there, but the yurt stood strong with no leaks. I loved listening to the rain on the tent at night. The short walk to separate cottage had a fully equipped kitchenette, washer/dryer, and the bathroom was huge with a fantastic waterfall shower head. We had a small issue with the washer that just a phone call to the hosts was made, and they were there in minutes to fix it. It is located within 5 miles to the beach and was just a short drive to great waterfront restaurants! We will definitely be back! I highly recommend The Boho Hideaway!

Weekend Trip to Laurel Oaks Estate

We stayed at little bear and had a fantastic time! The bed was very comfortable and the tent had everything you could need to cook, eat, and even had an AC unit! Very helpful in the July heat. We paddled around on the pond and enjoyed making s'mores on the campfire. Krystl met with us and allowed us to pet and feed the horses which were beautiful. Overall an amazing glamping experience. Would definitely recommend!

Very nice people who were generous enough to let us stay in the space. The outhouse and outdoor shower were awesome. You can really see how much work was put into creating this little piece of paradise in the woods. Close enough to the beach and other activities. It felt very private.
