Hi! We are excited that you are thinking of camping with us. You'll be staying on our farm, which is a working horseback riding and equine therapy facility as well as a sanctuary for many other animals (including mini cows, turkeys, chickens, a pig, alpacas, goats, and a llama!) But don't worry, your campsite is surrounded by beauty and privacy. Enjoy walking through the woods, sharing a picnic while visiting with the animals, or just having relaxing in nature! We also sell farm fresh eggs by the half-dozen for $2, so you can cook your own egg breakfast if you would like! Our campsites are rustic. We do provide a port-a-potty on site as well as 7 gallons of drinking-safe water. There is a King Camp portable shower on-site, and we live on site at the front of the property in case of emergency. Each campsite has a fire pit, and a bucket of water is provided for safety. There is a convenience store and gas station 1/2 mile away, so snacks and fuel can be easily accessed. If you're looking for extremely quiet, we may not be the right fit, as our animals don't keep quiet hours so you may hear a moo or a crow at any time, but we think it's fantastic here! Tents and RVs are welcome! RV folks, we do NOT have hookups at this time, so you will be boon docking. If you're looking for nearby attractions, here are some to check out: Lake Lure- 45 min. My wife and I moved to the area, from Boone, in the spring of 2014. Our dream was to own a house, preferably a cabin, on top of a mountain with long range views and a gradual winding road to the top. Living in Boone, this dream was definitely out of reach. When we began our search for a new home in the Asheville area, we discovered that the more affordable homes were in fact on the mountains. Perfect! In general I always have a pretty positive outlook on what’s possible, however, I was skeptical that we would ever find our dream home. As Jeannie began her Zillow browsing adventures, one particular cabin with acreage, that was outside of our budget continued to pop up. Jeannie would delete it and then it would come back. At some point the price began to drop, and drop, and drop. On our way back into town one weekend after attending a wedding, I convinced Jeannie to drive by the cabin just because we had the time. Immediately we fell in love and reached out to our realtor buddy. It was more of a shot in the dark but it couldn’t hurt, right? We held our breath for the next month totally expecting someone to get it under contract before us or the sellers not accepting our offer. It had already been reduced significantly so we knew our chances of a lowball offer were slim. We offered the most that we could get a loan for. They accepted! I still get anxious thinking back to that month, October 2014. Many years and two children later, here we are, just as excited everyday to make the long trek up our mountain as we were that August of 2014, and now we are happy to offer a similar experience to you, without having to buy the place. What you will not find is light pollution, traffic, and a desire to leave the mountain. Fall asleep to the calls of the hoot owl and wake up to the knocking of the wood pecker. Turgua brewery just down on Cane Creek road is only 6.2 miles from camp. Cane Creek Valley Farm as well as the Cane Creek Community swimming pool is also at the base of camp just in case the kids need a dip of ice cream or a dip in the pool. Justus Apple Orchard is only 10 miles down the mountain towards Hendersonville. We love taking our kids there. We are only 15 miles from downtown Asheville & Hendersonville, and 22 miles from Lake Lure. You can find hiking, biking, and horseback-riding trails within a short bike or car ride in Pisgah National Forest. Chimney Rock State Park is 25 miles east and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountain scenery. Or perhaps go for a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. So bring your tents, campers or your small RV and come and setup down by the babbling creek. If you don't have or own a tent, we have a large 6-8 person tent available for a small rental fee too. View the stars at night, play in the creek during the day or if you are into biking or hiking, go to the Overmountain Victory trail located about 15 minutes away and enjoy the 6.7 mile loop around Lake Whelchel right off I-85. Campsites are adjacent to the French Broad River. Excellent fishing and boating. It is heavily populated by deer and other wildlife. For this reason, dogs must be kept on a leash. Please note that due to the campground being in low-lying land, the drive in is subject to being slick and muddy, 4WD is always recommended. Message us with any questions. Due to the property proximity to the river and situated in floodway, the sites are subject to flooding during heavy rain events. Voluntary and/or mandatory evacuation may be necessary during any reservation due to high waters or forecast for high water events. If evacuation is necessary, unused portions of reservation will be refunded. Campers are advised to be self-sufficient with water and shower facilities. Wildcat Outpost

Our homestead is home to our family, chickens, and a livestock guardian dog. We also have a small orchard and a garden. Most of our 12+ acres are wooded and our property backs up to thousands of acres of public forest land owned by Clemson University. A trail connects our backyard to the main network of hiking/mountain biking trails in Clemson Forest. For those familiar with the forest, our property is in the vicinity of Wildcat Technical, Wounded Road, and Chainbreaker trails. As private and wooded as our property is, we are only 10-15 minutes from downtown Clemson and less than 10 minutes from the small towns of Central and Six Mile. Lakes Hartwell and Keowee are also short drives. We currently offer a single campsite, which can accommodate several tents or a camper van. Our campsite features a composting toilet outhouse, and water is available from spigots at our house. Though fairly close to our house, the campsite has a very private feel due to being completely surrounded by a hardwood forest.

This is a pull through site, with no backing up required! It is semi-private. It shares the same driveway as the main house. This property has electric and water. There is not septic or dumping. You will have access to entire yard that is on right side of the driveway. Please do not use yard on the left side of the driveway where the main house is. We love the outdoors so you may see us outside. Two dogs maximum. They must be kept on leash. Fenced dog area can be used as long as you clean up after your dog. Please do not leave your dog(s) unattended in the fenced yard, we want to keep them safe at all times! Quiet time after 9pm. This is a family friendly/low-key listing. Please be mindful that this is our home. No parties. Two horses are on the property! They are very friendly, however please DO NOT feed them. The front side of the fence is not electric, however all the other sides of the fence are so please be aware. There is a picnic table, fire pit and outdoor lights to enjoy! Bring the bikes for the kids to ride on the very large driveway!! The back woods are in the process of being cleared. From the site you will see 2 piles of trees that are in the process of drying out to be burned. If you are looking for picture perfect, please keep this in mind.
