4 nights at The River

This campsite is Heaven! We booked for four nights but extended our stay because this place is so amazing. It’s very private, there are only two sites but we were the only guests. The owners and a couple of their relatives live here and they’re all super nice, helpful and very respectful of guests and their privacy. Our dog could run free and play with the other lovely fur babies who live here. It’s so peaceful! We never wanted to leave! There’s a beautiful silence, you just hear the river’s flowing as it’s a stone's throw away. There’s a fire pit and all the wood you might need. You can go tubing or canoeing and Michael gave us everything we needed to do that. I can't say enough good things about this place. It’s a gem and we want to come back for sure! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great experience in a quiet, beautiful property. A whole immersion in nature, with all the comforts of full hookup.

Great little secluded spot right in Charlotte's backyard, easy to get to. Great for a little retreat as a couple. We didn't swim, but the dog did and she loved it. Will definitely keep this spot in mind for future trips!

We had an awesome stay! Fern Gully was a beautiful place to spend the night and it was only a minute or two walk from our car. The river was gorgeous and even better than I expected, and it was nice to be so close to downtown.

This spot was exactly what I've been looking for on Hipcamp - a beautiful secluded location that is easy to access. Parking was close enough to be convenient but far enough to forget the car was there. I strive to pass my love of the outdoors to my 4 year old and sites like this go a long way. Firefly light show before bed then falling asleep to the sound of the water can't be beat.

Despite the fact that this campsite was devastated by hurricane Helene and they lost everything, they bounced back with vigor and determination. They have truly made a beautiful space both welcoming to travelers and puppies alike. The property is gorgeous, easily found and easy to access. It's also secured by a gate for peace of mind. Both Michael and Jenny were very present and active at the campground for anything and everything you could possibly need. They're both wonderful hosts and people. They are great to talk with, but also they respect privacy too. I highly recommend anyone with a desire to get away, maybe do some kayaking, tubing, fishing, relaxing or just getting away for a little bit, this is your place. I will definitely be coming back with my dogs! Thanks Michael and Jenny for making our father/son camping trip a lot of fun.

Weekend Trip to Adin`s river cabin

It’s not the Ritz, but it’s not the Spitz”—Adin’s words when he welcomed us to this peaceful, private, camping the easy way, river escape. Total privacy the whole stay—we floated, relaxed, and never saw another soul, even with a campground down the road. We drove a front-wheel-drive truck with no issues, though after rain, the private entry turned to Carolina mus, so we used Adin’s driveway instead with no problem. Becky’s store to the right has snacks and firewood (no alcohol); Polkville to the left has groceries and drinks.

Weekend Trip to Tellurian Family Campground

Great RV park for a peaceful and quiet weekend in the middle of the mountains. Owners were around making sure we had everything we needed. They took us to the peak of the property for an amazing view of the sunset. Easy walk down to the river for some swimming, dog and kids had a blast. Highly recommended and we’ll be back soon!

Fern Gully is a great little campsite, with really cool creek and river access. It’s also a great place to put in for tubing, I recommend also booking The Bend for take-out, if it’s available.

We had an awesome time tubing the Saluda from Camp Moondog. We booked both Fern Gully and The Bend, and it makes a real nice 30-min float with a couple rapids, and a quick walk back up to put-in. We also tubed across the river to Dolly Cooper park.

2 nights at Waterfall camping close to CLT

We stayed here for the 3rd year this year. Still didn't disappoint had a wonderful view of the waterfall. The kids loved swimming all around and exploring. Swinging by the fire at night is my favorite. I would recommend this spot to anyone(and I have) it's close to our home but far enough to unplug and unwind. Scott is an amazing host, can't wait till next year!

Weekend Trip to Camp Moondog

We really enjoyed this spot! We arrived late and it was nice that there were solar powered string lights there to assist us with setting up our camp. From looking at the turtles to fishing and swimming- we had an amazing time. The site itself was on a hill/ cliff so we hd a great view of the river and were able to keep our mermaid dog from disappearing into the river unattended. There is also a little swimming hole right below the site that you can acess with a steep little climb down. This site is very sandy just FYI so do prepare to plan for that during your trip. There was also plenty of privacy. We would definitely visit again.

After many sleepless nights worrying if we could succeed or not (it was much larger than properties we had been looking for), we bought it! Our favorite spot on the river was virtually inaccessible by any way other than floating. But after hundreds of hours of hard work, we think we have developed a place where others too can enjoy the things we do about the property. We dream big and Tellurian remains a work in progress, but we feel we have created a place where folks can enjoy the peacefulness of nature, the river and incredible views. Waterfall camping close to CLT

My Neighbor has started his own Campsite, "The Swimming Hole". If mine is booked up and you still want to camp, look him up. His is better suited for small groups but has much more privacy. We have a new road to the campsite; you can now drive down with two-wheel drive vehicle or RV down and park near your tent! There is plenty of soft sand to set up one tent or ten tents; large groups are welcome for an extra fee. A Porta-Potty is available at the campsite. Swimming is usually possible at the base of the falls; however, large amounts of rain can change conditions and make it unusable. I should also add, this is not a completely private campsite deep in the woods. The camp is visible from a shared driveway, and my residence is up a hill that overlooks the area. Also, I do not own the land on the other side of the stream. Occasionally, the owners of that land will spend a weekend afternoon enjoying the waterfall view also. Still much quieter and more private than a regular campground. Glamping tents and additional camping tents are available through a local company. Look in the pictures for the tent with red, white, and blue balloons. Message me for details. Close to US National Whitewater Center (mountain biking, whitewater rafting, kayaking), Kings Mountain National Military Park (Horseback riding and history), Crowders Mountain (Hiking), 3 miles off of I-85 and US-321 for people passing through.

Adin`s river cabin

My property consists of a ridge running east to west with the access road running along the south border. the land slopes up to the ridge for about 300 feet, and then down to the river for about 800 feet. The south side of the ridge has a small pond close to the road. The rest is pasture, and an orchard and small vineyard. The north side of the ridge is old growth timber, and shady and cool. The two cabins are along the river. One is perched on a ridge over looking the river and the other is right on the river. The swimming hole is 30 feet from the lower cabin. There is room for a couple campsites along the river also. The south side of the ridge was a cotton farm decades ago, but was covered in timber when I bought it 12 years ago. The north side has been in timber for the known history of the property.

If you are looking for peace and tranquility in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this privately owned, primitive campground is a great place for your tent! Nestled in Medford Mountain at about 1200 ft., each creek-side slip has a magnificent view of the 1532 ft. mountaintop. Whether surrounded by spring blossoms or fall foliage, animal and leaf lovers often see turkeys at dawn and deer at dusk. Foxes and bobcats have also been spotted on occasion. It is important to note that bear and coyote roam freely on the adjacent mountaintop, although are rarely seen or heard. Proper wilderness precautions must always be taken while camping. Aside from the flora and fauna, one of the biggest attractions is the star-filled sky. On a clear night, it is imperative to take a break from your private campfire to appreciate the Milky Way. You may also enjoy the meteor showers in August and other celestial events. Not to be outdone, the day sky does not disappoint. If a pop-up shower passes through, a double rainbow is often left in its wake. In the surrounding area, there are many outdoor activities to enjoy during the day. In a half hour or less, you may go horseback riding, ziplining, kayaking, tubing, fishing, hiking, and climbing. Public access to Lake Lure is less than 15 mi. away, but access to a lakeside road with amazing views is only a couple of minutes away. In addition, there is a little-known waterfall about 8 minutes up the street. If spending the day on site, be sure to walk the trail on the opposite side of the creek and hike up the hill for a different view. In addition, badminton, volleyball, ladder ball, cornhole, Yardzee, croquet, bocce, frisbees, footballs, board games and books are available for free rental. Plus, children may enjoy gem mining in the creek (for an additional fee). Of course, everyone can play Slapsquatch on the grounds for free. *Last minute decision? No worries!
