Kids can enjoy swings and slides. We used it for a small gathering where about a dozen guests gathered during the day and six spent the night. Could not have been happier with property or hosts. Also, a greenhouse is being erected next, that will teach people about aquaponics and hydroponics! Many things are on the immediate horizon for this special property. While we are under heavy construction at the moment in some areas of the park, many amenities are currently available. Why not unplug from the daily grind and spend time with those that matter most? You will definitely want to spend time exploring or just relaxing on the beautiful beaches teaming with seashells. If you have a boat, feel free to bring it with you when you come, we are very close to the Live Oak Landing boat ramp where I took the picture of the sunset. As the day winds down to an end you can relax by a campfire or just head inside and kick back and watch a movie from the library of dvd's that are available. Our stay here was wonderful! The land is absolutely gorgeous, the cabin is well stocked with almost everything you need, and Katie and her husband are just so pleasant and kind! My boys loved meeting the animals, kayaking on the pond, and telling stories around the fire! We would love to come out again sometime for a longer period of time! Highly recommend!!

Weekend Trip to River Island Venture Resort

1st time camping here and it was wonderful. Staff is extremely attentive and nice. Very laid back and unstressful which is really what your looking for on a weekend getaway to recharge from the day to day. The glamping tent we booked was extremely clean and comfortable overlooking the river making it very tranquil. If you bring children, the site has a myriad of events and activities to keep them busy and having fun. The whole facility is extremely well kept and a lot of thought and effort was put in to create the appropriate holiday theme of the season (we were there late Oct and it looked fabulous). We are definitely going to book another stay there especially with all the warm weather activities they have like kayaking and tubing. We might consider one of thier more excluded camping sites that they offer. Very much recommend checking it out whether old or young.

Absolutely FABULOUS getaway. The facilities are beautiful- clean, warm, and welcoming. Leaves you feeling like a home away from home. We were only there for one night- but we didn’t want to leave. We had our own campfire right outside the tent. If you forgot anything - no worries! The camp store had everything you could possibly need. We will most definitely be back.

This was a delightful glamping experience. The tents are clean and the beds while firm were comfortable. Everything is well maintained. We spent some time in the sauna, w much was nice. There is a little shop adjacent to the common area which has additional supplies and foodstuffs if needed. Great getaway for a weekend or a trip to the woods.

Second time visiting with my Dalmation. Katie and hubby super hosts. Cabin is very well done for a small space. The live edge cabinetry is superb. BRIAN (DALMATION) LOVES BEING OFF LEASH! If you need your modern accouterments, we'll, there is none. Truly a place of tranquility. Horses at a section of pasture are cute "bring carrots " will be back when it is time to unwind again!

The property was really a great location for our group that were overall new to camping with amenities nearby to pickup groceries or go to a diner when needed! We really enjoyed taking turns on the row boat, and playing card games and monopoly in the cabin area at night. The campsite felt really private, but there was some barking from dogs nearby at night, and sometimes gunshots. Alex, the owner, was very responsive and helpful in finding local activities and resolving any issues we had during the stay!

Ron is a thoughtful and kind host...the property is well maintained, beautifully decorated,and is stocked with everything you need to have an excellent experience! Ron has added a new covered swing, which we loved and replaced several items to ensure proper working order (new grill and outdoor table/chairs). I chose this site the first year because it's pet friendly...we have returned each subsequent year because we absolutely love this place and feel so comfortable here with our Siberian Huskies!
