With the original home built in 1785, Milk Thistle farm is on the historic register and is comprised of the main house and 5 acres of land. It is run as a small non-profit animal sanctuary and is home to rescued chickens, goats, and pigs, as well as two humans and their dog and cat companions. The main property is fenced in, with a large back field great for tent camping, and an orchard to explore that can also double as hammock camping. There is parking for cars and bikes. We try to minimize our impact on the environment as much as possible, and encourage our guests to compost, recycle, and dispose of waste accordingly. Please note we have dogs, including a Livestock Guardian Dog that does bark to alert us of new people and warn off would be predators. We had such a wonderful stay at this campsite! The host was incredibly accommodating and always quick to respond! She was amazing! It made the whole experience feel easy and welcoming from start to finish. We brought our two kids and our German Shepherd!
The campsite was peaceful, clean, and thoughtfully set up. It was also great because it was super close to stores and restaurants as well. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we would happily come back again. Highly highly recommend for families and dog owners! 🏕️🐾✨

KSJoy’s property was as described and a nice spot to hang out for a couple of days before the busy holiday season kicks in. Full electric hookup. No water this time of year (was just shut off last week). Nice area. Drove around. Followed the host’s recommendations for local food. Great advice! Had our four dogs with us. The property is close to a fairly busy road so having good recall (or we brought a fencing system) is essential. The road noise Fri-Sun in mid Nov. was not an issue. The host was very communicative and answered all questions but was hands off which we liked. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed staying at KSJoy's land. It was exactly as described. You can hear some road noise due to the closeness of the road but because of the home on the property, it's still very private. Our dogs enjoyed being off leash and there was a good amount of room for them to roam around. If in the area we would not hesitate to stay again.

We had such a great summer at this spot. We started out booking a short trip and were going to bounce around to different spots, but ended up reaching back out and staying all summer. It is a perfect quiet spot, close to so many great things to do, and even though we had to pack up every so often to pump out at a close RV park, we were happier at this spot than we would have been at the area RV parks. It was more shaded and quiet than we would have at a park and better proximity to enjoy beaches from Westport to Newport. We'll be back!

We loved tent camping at the stonewall site!! Our hosts were incredibly understanding about a late arrival, and were quick to get back to us regarding any questions we had. The land was absolutely beautiful and we spent hours on the pond paddling around in the canoe, and fishing. The camping site itself was spacious, and yes you can hear some road noise but it absolutely fades away into the background after a short while. 100% will be back, and would reccomend.

We had a great camping trip here! It was our toddler's first trip, and he can't stop talking about how fun it was. He loved visiting the animals and running up and down the trail. Our spot was private and easy to get to. I think if we did it again with him (and our absurdly giant tent) we would go with the Orchard site because it looked a little bigger, but we were very comfortable. Like any piece of woods in New England, it's not a bad thing to have poison ivy wipes with you, especially if you're with a tiny human who loves to disregard the paths. We loved having farm fresh eggs in the morning! We already recommended it to friends.
