The property has 3 cottages on it and is situated across the street from Cayuga Lake in a secret wild garden, but is a 6 minute drive to downtown Ithaca Commons. This cottage is not for everyone. It is a cheap option in a cute, very bare bones cottage. It is best suited for low maintenance, easy travelers who are looking for an inexpensive place to crash after a long day of exploring. Guests who stay in the Shack share the bathroom in the main house with me - the bathroom has a separate entrance from the one I use in the main house. The cabin consists of 2 rooms - the upstairs has a double sized futon and a single futon mattress that can be used for guests, and the downstairs is a lounge/studio area. Note that the bedroom is accesses via a ladder type staircase. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but for the right fit it is the perfect home base to explore Ithaca's many spenders, ideally located across the street from Stewart Park and the trailhead to the Cayuga Waterfront Trail. and a short walk to the Stewart Park/downtown bus line and the East Shore swimming beach. Note, there is a cat who lives on the property and he sometimes comes to visit this studio. I see guests inviting him in occasionally to visit. If you're allergic, this isn't a good option for you.

Learn more about this land: A step up from glamping, the "Shack" is a rustic, bohemian 2-story cabin/ art studio on a property that was formerly a train station. The property has 3 cottages on it and is situated across the street from Cayuga Lake in a secret wild garden, but is a 6 minute drive to downtown Ithaca Commons. This cottage is not for everyone. It is a cheap option in a cute, very bare bones cottage. It is best suited for low maintenance, easy travelers who are looking for an inexpensive place to crash after a long day of exploring. Guests who stay in the Shack share the bathroom in the main house with me - the bathroom has a separate entrance from the one I use in the main house. The cabin consists of 2 rooms - the upstairs has a double sized futon and a single futon mattress that can be used for guests, and the downstairs is a lounge/studio area. Note that the bedroom is accesses via a ladder type staircase. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but for the right fit it is the perfect home base to explore Ithaca's many spenders, ideally located across the street from Stewart Park and the trailhead to the Cayuga Waterfront Trail. and a short walk to the Stewart Park/downtown bus line and the East Shore swimming beach. Note, there is a cat who lives on the property and he sometimes comes to visit this studio. I see guests inviting him in occasionally to visit. If you're allergic, this isn't a good option for you.

Situated on a working farm just 15 min. southeast of Ithaca, NY, this is perfect for a family or romantic get-away. Unplug, relax, and visit the local trails, wineries, and waterfalls, or just hang out and enjoy the view! We only have the one cabin, so you will have the entire space to yourselves, including the hot water showers, flush toilets, and outdoor kitchen at the nearby bath house. Luxury camping has a greater level of comfort and convenience, but it is still camping. This means the camp area can be affected by extreme weather, insects, heat, and noises in the area (dogs barking, neighbors mowing lawns, etc.) We work hard to ensure the most pleasant stay possible. There are mosquito screens on all windows (and under the cabin decking!), but insects can still find ways to creep in. Rainstorms can be quite loud on the metal roof of the cabin. The bath house is a short walk away down a gravel path, which may feel longer in inclement weather. Upon arrival we were greeted by Mr ,Russ the GM. The cabin fire was prelit for us and it was really toasty. Thanks Russ! We recommend bringing lots of water and lanterns as there is no running water or electricity at the saw mill. This is a wonderful place to go and enjoy ,

We spent 2 nights and had a nice stay. It was cooler weather so not many people camping, nice and quiet. Rus who manages the campground was awesome. Friendly, helpful, fun guy. Some feedback for the Hipcamp listing, all we got was an address which lead us to a cabin a mile or so away from the actual site. We had to knock on someone’s door to get help figuring out where to go. I had messaged the host early in the day to let them know when we’d be arriving. No response.

I checked in at the main office, took the offer for their (permanent? sleeps 4-6) tent on the property, and the host even kindly helped jump start my car on my last morning as it had had some battery issues recently. Great place to stay! Russ is a kind and patient guy I got to the campsite really late and still he met me there and showed me where I was gonna be staying and I really appreciated that! Lots of hiking and scenery, great patio on the back of the cabin, comes with a fridge and microwave for any food you bring. There is no insulation so whatever the temperature it is outside it will also be inside, except in the summer there is a window unit, and it’s a tin roof so rain is extra loud on the roof. Other than these things I would recommend anyone stay here for a weekend of solitude or a family getaway!

Heather’s glamping Yurt was perfect! The privacy was beyond amazing and the property was absolutely beautiful!! Heather was very responsive and available for any questions or needs that came up, although the site was so thoughtfully set up, we didn’t even find a need to ask for anything!! We loved discovering the rock wall behind our site and the sunset from that space was really neat. We utilised the farm store on the property for our morning eggs, they were fantastic!! Nothing like farm fresh eggs to start the day off right. We didn't get any milk or meat that was also available there but it was nice to know if we had wanted some, we wouldn’t have to go far to get it! The private heated shower and the flushable toilet will persuade any non-camping enthusiast to come out and discover how wonderful this experience is!! Fire wood is readily available just a hop, skip down from Site 2, where we stayed. Only one lil hop from site 1! I would highly recommend this Yurt camping experience to anyone!!!!!!!

I really enjoyed this place. It is very peaceful and clean, perfect for resting and disconnecting. The surroundings are beautiful: watching the sunrise over the lake, the sunsets, and the bonfires at night made the experience unforgettable. The nature around brings peace and energy, ideal for relaxing and reconnecting. The hosts were very attentive and always available for anything I needed. You can feel the care and dedication they put into maintaining the place, which makes you feel welcome from the very first moment. Overall, it was an excellent experience and I definitely recommend it. It’s a place I would love to return to.

Weekend Trip to Bare Lake House

This was a last minute stop on our trip. Aric was very accommodating! I would love to come back in the summer, it seems like a really good time. The cabin was clean and cozy. There was a like a clubhouse with a kitchen, warm shower and toilets. It wasn’t a far walk.. The other campers were very courteous. We happen to come on the last weekend and they were having a potluck. I love being nude in nature. This was perfect!
