Fairview Farms Airfield

15 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents66 acres · Pine Grove, PA
The 66-acre property has been licensed as an airport (PS20) since the 1980s. It is currently an active, private airport. We don't sell fuel or offer services beyond camping so we primarily have only air traffic with few to no landings each year. In other words, it is very quiet here except during the occasional low pass. We are very eager for pilots to fly in and camp out! The beautiful sunsets and stargazing night skies are a real treat for anyone that comes to visit. Lots of deer, birds, and other wildlife can be seen out and about. Bring your telescope and binoculars to view all the property has to offer! Note that we are always working to improve our slice of heaven, thus we do have tools, vehicles, and equipment stored around the farm that if not used now will be one day. We appreciate your understanding that some areas are used for our personal / farm storage. If you're not into looking at our farmware, there are a few nearby campgrounds. The hot tub is located next to the owner's home. Guests are welcome to use this at any time but must reserve and pay for a time slot. * Book this through the Extras * We are within walking distance of Swatara State Park and close to the Appalachian Trail. Short drive to the local winery, bowling alley, pub/diner, and movie theater. Grocery stores and gas are also nearby. Miles of hiking, rail trail, single-track mountain biking, and kayaking are all right here! See our kayak and bike rentals under extras! Hershey Park is approximately a 30-minute drive from our location. Rausch Creek, Anthracite, and Reading off-road areas are also nearby. Note: Monthly rental discounts are available. Work-stay exchange programs are available. We are always looking for good reliable part-time help on the farm! Please ask! Fall leaves colors are looking awesome! Come enjoy the leaves by day and stars by night beside your campfire! Follow us on Instagram: @fairview_farms_airfield

We cater to couples in this setting. The Hut consists of one room with a Queen bed. We provide all bedding and towels. Enjoy sleeping in our enchanted forest designed shepherds hut. You will have access to electricity to charge your devices, make coffee and turn on lights! There is no wifi out here, but you can use your own cellular data for internet needs. If you have a child, we can provide a futon, bedding and set of towels for an additional cost of $25. (Keep in mind that the Hut and surrounding area is not child proofed inside/out and open waterway is very close to the hut.) Please let us know as soon as possible so we can have the futon available for your stay. Glamping here is fantastic! You will have a private outdoor shower to use right next to the Hut. Hot water available seasonally. Please confirm with host as to hot water availability. Biodegradable body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap/dish soap is provided and we ask that you use the provided products to help us protect our natural surroundings - especially the creek. Please keep in mind that water provided to the shower and outdoor sink is not drinkable (not potable), however, we do provide water for drinking/cooking/brushing teeth that is from a 5 gallon bottle with pump dispenser. A separate toilet room is available right next to the hut as well. It is equipped with a bucket toilet which requires eco- bags and kitty litter (both provided). The full bags are then tied and disposed of in a larger outdoor trash can just outside. Use the fire pit just outside the hut for grilling or use the gas grill with burner that faces the creek. Basic kitchen supplies are provided (please refer to pictures for details). There is also a picnic bench facing the creek. Walk the trail through the property and enjoy the cool shade. Pack a picnic and enjoy eating on the moss covered boulders next to the water, play games in the yard, snooze in a hammock, meditate by the creek or take a swim in the swimming hole. Enjoy privacy while in the hut, or join us on our morning chores (we live in a house on the property), by feeding the animals and gathering fresh eggs. During the day, cross the bridge over the creek to get to the beautifully maintained Conewago Recreation Trail where you can walk or ride bikes. Our rural setting is a relaxing spot to stay after a day of seeing the sites or visiting Hershey Park just 15 minutes away. We are 10 minutes to the train station which will take you to all the surrounding major cities - DC, NY, Philly and others for a day trip too! Experience a bit of history while staying in the Shepherd's Hut. The houses, grist mill and bank barn were built with sandstone brought to the property by wagonloads in the 1770's. Just think! This homestead was built before the Declaration of Independence was signed and the Revolutionary War began! Stay in or explore the 40 acres of property consisting of woodlands, creek and farmland. The grist mill and other buildings require host to accompany guests in order to enter and we are happy to give you a tour!

Beautiful Tiny House on Horse Farm

1 site · Lodging20 acres · Pipersville, PA
The area where the tiny house is parked is private and beautiful with fresh green sod just planted last fall. This truly is a scenic and idyllic place to unwind after a long day at work. Complete with fire pit, hammock swing and a tree wrapped in lights for a cozy glow. Hi all, my listing is for a very specific group of people. This is my personal home and I am away in Germany for the time being and I don’t know when I’ll return. I have someone managing the property while I’m away. Who this listing will suit: - Someone looking to stay 2-4 months - Someone that is ok using a compost toilet or is willing to walk 300 ft to the barn to use the flush toilets - Someone ok with farm animals and farm smells - Someone that will take care of my house like it’s their own without the expectations of what an airbnb should be. It’s just my home I’m renting out, not a business I’m running. Whenever maintenance is needed I have someone I can send out to you. I’m very communicative (putting into consideration the 6 hour time difference) and love to problem solve is ever an issue arises. I love honesty and direct communication. That’s most helpful. - Someone who does not party or do drugs - Someone single (no overnight partners) Please don’t send me a booking request, instead send me an inquiry so I don’t have to deal with bnb system. If that’s you, keep reading! :D I’d love to have you stay in my tiny house. She’s located on a patch of green grass (fresh sod planted last summer) behind some trees on an active horse farm. The scenery is idyllic, it was truly my little piece of heaven when I lived there. In the evenings when everything was quiet and still and the sun was setting, I’d just sit there in my hammock chair or on my steps and take in the beauty. In the day time, there are visitors on the farm sometimes, riding horses (this is a horse boarding farm) you may see some people here and there but the area is pretty private and the people aren’t generally loud. I've been here a few years and have felt totally safe. There are cameras in the parking lot on the property where people come and go. We also have goats, chickens, donkeys, etc. The house is parked far enough away that you feel like you have you own space. Details about the house: It’s a lived in home, the butcher block countertop isn’t in perfect shape, the front door is a little weathered and some of the doors inside have some scuffs. But this is just me and my perfectionist mentality ;) Otherwise the home is absolutely lovely. I loved coming home after work every day. It was my place to unwind from the hectic world. - The home is under 250 square ft including the loft. It feels very spacious, has tall ceilings and dons 12 windows for an open feel. - My home is furnished, complete with everything you need in the kitchen to live and cook. - The bed is upstairs in the loft and access to the loft is via a metal rung ladder. Not easily accessible for small children or the elderly. - I have a powerful mini split unit that can quickly heat and cool the home. - The bathroom has a spacious shower, large sink and a compost toilet. There are 2 bathrooms in the main barn that have flush toilets that you are free to use for #2 if you don't like the ideal of composting. #1 is totally doable in the compost toilet as it goes straight outside. The bathroom also has heated floors. - The property has a large dumpster that gets picked up on Fridays, you are free to put your trash in there. - The lawn is mowed by the landowners - I have filtered water (carbon) that comes from the smaller tap next to the kitchen sink - WIFI included Message me with any questions!
