This spot is best for a van camp location but plenty of space for tents and hammocks. You'll find a drive-up deck if you wish to park there. Firewood is available providing you use downfalls as kindling in the stone fire pit. A 8x20' deck and picnic table are 20 feet from the fire for stargazing. When the ferns are full grown they are 3 feet tall and everywhere. A 10 minute walk takes you through a dense pine forest with large rock formations and a nice creek with many gurgling fall areas. If there looks like a cave amongst the large rocks, then it probably is a bear den.
There is a lot to do near by. Some note worthy locations :
Cranberry Glade Lake (good for kayaking or fishing), Ohiopyle, 7 Springs, Fallingwater, Living Treasures, Caddie Shak, and Hidden Valley are all about 25 minutes away. This property also borders Laurel Ridge State Park.

The world class Wisp resort and Deep Creek Lake are only minutes away. “Yough” is short for Youghiogheny River a state designated wild and scenic river which runs through the heart of the property. Wild Yough Glamping huts are part of more than 350 acres of private land, most of which is crisscrossed with hiking and biking trails. Youghiogheny is an Algonquin word meaning “a stream flowing in a contrary direction”, or in the case of the Yough, North toward Ohio Pyle and Pittsburgh. This section of the river is designated as a protected scenic corridor and you will feel the quiet isolation when sitting on the Crooked Butt Bench overlooking the big horseshoe bend in the river at the far back corner of our property. And if the river is low during your visit, feel free to wade across to the other side – Wild Yough owns the entire peninsula of land on the other side of the river and this is also bordered by State land.The river banks are steep on the property, but the fishing for small mouth bass is exceptional. There is a small turn around on the path just beyond Crooked Butt Bench where you can take out your canoe, kayak, or inner tubes after floating the 2+ miles from the Oakland bridge. Just be prepared to walk your water craft back up to the house or Glamping site as there is no motorized access to the river.If you like to lay on the rocks in the sun or take the kids for some wading in the river, the best place is the farthest to walk to. The area is an all season resort where you can enjoy the lake and beach as well as various outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, fishing, sail boarding, hiking, and horseback riding most of the year.
In winter with up to 100 inches of snow, you can ski, snow board, and tube at the near by Wisp Ski Resort or cross country ski at several State parks managed for it during winter.

Nice and quiet and secluded. Firewood was there. It was a cold night and was able to setup my tent no problem and park onsite. Directions to site were accurate. Note there is no phone service there, which was not an issue. Had the best night of sleep Ive had in years.

This is a great spot to tent camp under the trees, enjoy a campfire (with firewood supplied!), and stargaze at a relatively secluded spot. The hike down to the creek is beautiful! I would definitely return to this spot.

The campsite was a little tricky to drive back to. Definitely a job for an SUV. That being said, once we pulled up it was nothing but fall leaves, green ferns and dense trees all the way around. Fire wood and a fire pit as promised. Perfect spot for our tent, camp chairs and the all important camp potty. We took our pup and had no issues whatsoever. It is a beautiful site. On Saturday we made our way to Ohiopyle for some hiking. We had a great time. I would definitely recommend this HipCamp.

Wonderful Space removed from the road. Public Winery right across the street. Wildlife from wild turkey to Red tailed hawks were all around us. Hammock camping worked out well, but 4-6 Person tents also fit the deck quite well. I will be back!

Beautiful land with lots of ferns and hemlock. It was the perfect base camp for us to hike the Laurel highland trail and visit the nearby winery. We enjoyed the short hike down to the creek.

This was our second time staying here, and it was just as wonderful as the first. The privacy is something you just can’t get at a state park, and our dog loved having the space to run around. We cooked a camp meal, relaxed by the fire, and enjoyed the peaceful setting. Part of us wants to keep this place a secret, but it’s too good not to share!

What a great site ! Jim was fantastic it was our first time using Hipcamp and everything was a positive experience. Any questions I had Jim would answer right away. Site has a deck a fire pit and lots of spots to pitch a tent. And a great spot for truck or van camping as well. Nice and quiet and peaceful. Lots of trails and places to hike and explore. Also it’s really nice to find a place that is dog friendly. And the site was clean. Very clean and well kept. Lots of wildlife around. And nice and quiet and dark at night.
Spot has really nice tree coverage and lots of shade and protection from wind and rain. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. We didn’t want to leave lol.
This site is close to just about everything in the area.
We’re not the type that likes to camp in campgrounds with people next to you. We like our privacy and peace. We were offered firewood but it was so nice out we didn’t need one. But has a great fire pit.
Jim was fantastic couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Just a lovely spot we will definitely be back. And we highly recommend this site.

If you’re looking for privacy and rustic camping, this is the spot for you. This campsite is tucked back deep in the woods, surrounded by trails and ferns. The fire pit is amazing and the deck and picnic table were perfectly situated for our campervan setup. Plenty of great spots for tent campers too!
We were only there a single night while we made our way to MI but would love to come back!

Had a wonderful time at Jim’s place. 4 nights spent and would certainly come back for more. Feels very private for the most part and has a wonderful stream close by for the dogs to have fun. Also not to jinx it for the future but, we didn’t find a single tick on ourselves or the dogs… however we did find a black bear!

It was a decent spot for a quick camping trip out of town. Relatively close to neighbors, so definitely a decent amount of noise from kids and dogs and revving engines, but it was quiet at night so not too much of an issue. The raised deck was nice and we used the fire pit the first night for making s'mores.
Relatively secluded, because of some pretty thick tree cover, and no one came around or bothered us and directions and communication through messages was good.

Samantha was a great host with a great little piece of paradise ! We camped on the non river side, but the River was just across the road. The dogs ran free and we used the pavilion since it was a HOT weekend. The road is close, so if your dogs don't listen, then tie them up ! Thanks for sharing your land with us. We will definitely be back.

This was our second stay at this spot and we really like it. The fireplace and deck + picnic table are a great addition to the pretty nature. The only issue we had was some other campers setting off fireworks which really freaked out our dogs. Otherwise it's a very friendly place for dogs and we would come back at any time that isn't a holiday weekend.
