A gorgeous property at the foot of Elephant mountain with the Elk Run creek edging the back private area, provides hours of relaxation listen to the stream, fishing and wading in the creek.
Huge maple trees where a maple sugar shack was once on the property provides a wooded area by the stream where you can set up a tent or sleep in hammocks and listen to the stream.
We are renovating a barn into a large beautiful house will be available soon.
We provide a picnic table, and a fire ring. Fire wood available for additional fee. There could be two sites, one has electric and both have water. If you are camping together, contact me for additional information and fee for more than one RVs.
Bring a water filter, water is safe but has the sulfur smell. A charcoal filter is recommended.
The circular driveway provides easy access. Toy hauler or horse trailers welcome. ATV can get in the DCNR connector trail right from the driveway. Hunters are welcome to hunt the many acres of public land in the area. Not permitted on our property.
There is wildlife including bear, deer and Turkey we often see ducks, eagles, gross beaks, and cardinals just to name a few.
This is the place to come to park you RV and retreat to the creek in back of property if you want time to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.
There may be other people on the property if we are there or if the house is rented. There is plenty of space for all.

Had such a lovely stay with Jackie and Chris. Not only were they super accommodating of our last minute booking, they moved our campsite to one safer and dryer in the weather. We spent a beautiful cozy night despite the rain, we even got to have a little fire before it got too wet! Wood bundles for purchase are large and generous. Got to meet both Chris and Jackie and felt like we'd known them for years. Highly recommend this sweet little spot-- we'll be back!!

My group of 8 gals had an absolute blast camping over the Labor Day weekend on Chris & Jackie’s property. They had everything we needed - firewood, a grill, tiki torches, a portable bathroom, drinking water, and a great sink that made washing dishes so easy. Chris and Jackie were both so kind and helpful, and they answered any questions we had about the campsite and getting to the state park. Each campsite was spread out enough that we really felt like we had our own personal haven. We enjoyed campfire songs, stargazing, and of course, Chris’s cool car collection. It was a perfect way to end the summer. Thank you Chris & Jackie for everything! :)

Hubby, 7 year old rescue pup and I stayed at Kathy’s land in Gaines, PA. We thoroughly enjoyed our adventure exploring this beautiful area ~ biked the rail trail from Darling Run, hiked the Turkey and Rim trails from Colton Point State Park, hung out in Pine Creek to cool off. Perfect place to reset, relax, rest and embrace peace and quiet!
Was an easy pull through site with a fire pit, picnic table, 30 amp electricity and potable water. Would highly recommend! Thank you Kathy!!

We had a great time camping on Chris and Jackie's land. The campground area is wide open, with soft grass, perfect for the kids to run and play all the games we brought. The picnic tables, located right near the fire pit, were a convenient way to set up our meals, the other campsites were not too close, and the Wi-Fi was surprisingly strong. Chris and Jackie are wonderful hosts, willing to help in any way they can. I would recommend this camping spot for groups; it feels like you have your own private campground.

Lovely property to take a little break from reality. It was clean and had a good area mowed to be able to walk around as well as play with our dog. The path along the creek to get to the bench was nice as well. We tried to do a little fishing a couple times but we only caught a couple little natives. It was still fun, it's just not a big stocked creek. The only downfall of this hipcamp in our opinion was that the house can also be rented out. If the house is being rented by people then you lose your privacy due to the way the house is overlooking the back yard where you set up your tent and relax by the fire pit. So you kind of feel like all eyes are on you from all the windows and deck. As well as the concern that someone may walk down on you while going to the bathroom outdoors. So if you're looking for something private and personal like we were, you may want to inquire about the house being rented or not. As for the host Kathy, she was great. Very responsive, helpful, and kind.

Nice mowed walking paths in backyard at the creek. Very pretty near the water. Pulling an RV it was convenient having a loop driveway and nice that there is electric and water at the site. We brought our own Solo fire pit, but they did provide one near the RV site and one in backyard, as well as wood. Hosts were friendly and responsive to questions. Directions were very clear and accurate. We didn’t have any issues. Thank you for providing information about Pine Creek Outfitters for our kayaking! The weather was unseasonably cold the first two nights and we were thankful for the camp fire and our RV heater! The cold didn’t last long … the day we kayaked it was sunny and hot! We traveled with a dog and he remained in the trailer with air conditioning that day. Be aware that there is no shade at the site. It’s conveniently located to enjoy the area attractions. Very nice place! We would stay again.

The property was well maintained and comfortable and Chris and Jackie were so hospitable, always stopping by to make sure we had all we needed. Our site had plenty of space and the property does not hold a lot of campers so we never felt like we were “apartment camping.” We were traveling with young kids and the nice open space was great for them to play baseball, soccer, lacrosse, etc. we also had two dogs with us and they were so happy to be on cozy grass with a wooded area close by. My family thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we were close to all the activities we wanted to participate in.

Despite being part of an older, large campground, what Robin has prepared for Hipcampers is delightful! The separate tenting area we stayed in appeared to be newer, with well-spaced sites in the trees. It was nothing short of a tent officianado's paradise! Robin checked in with us a couple of times to make sure we were comfortable. The firewood was reasonably priced and burned very well in the clean fire pit. The stream added a nice touch of ambiance with it's babbling from the spring rains. I would say in the summer, bring bug spray, as anything with this proximity to a creek will have mosquitoes. The location was top-notch for visiting the park, and likely much nicer than the state park campground, in terms of privacy and space. Plan accordingly as the bath house was smallish for the number of people staying on a holiday weekend. We didn't have any kids or pets with us, but the space and pace felt welcoming for both. This place is a true gem and we enjoyed our one night stay immensely.
