This 140-acre property is an old farmstead last farmed in the 1950's. It lies in the Allegheny Plateau region of NW Pennsylvania and is mostly hardwood forest today. It is surrounded by thousands of acres of private forestland and is very secluded. Our goal is to provide a private and secluded yet accessible camping experience where you will see more deer than people. AANR/TNS friendly. There is excellent Verizon and T-Mobile service. The skies are dark at night and the sounds of nature will surround you. Campsite 1 is near where the farmhouse and barn once stood. The site is shaded by large, old maples that once shaded the farmhouse. Old fields surround the farmstead, but the woods are a short walk away.  It is the most popular campsite with an outhouse, fire ring and picnic table available. Campsite 2 is on the other side of the property. There is a fire ring but no picnic table.  Both sites easily accommodate anything from tents to RV's. Each site has a separate, gated, gravel road access. These are the only 2 campsites on the property and they are far enough apart (1/4 mile) to avoid any contact should both sites be occupied. There is a 2-mile loop hiking trail on the property that traverses a variety of habitats which are home to many animals and birds. The trail is well maintained and mowed. The terrain is flat to gentle slopes. The 1/2-mile Narnia Loop trail weaves through a young spruce forest like a maze. It is so cool, literally, even on the hottest days. The Allegheny River is about 10 miles away, near Tidioute, PA, and has excellent paddling and fishing. Titusville, PA is about 15 miles away and is home to Oil Creek State Park which has great trout fishing, an excellent paved bike/hike trail, and Drake Well Museum site of the first oil well ever drilled. Finally, you will be on the doorstep to the Allegheny National Forest with all the outdoor recreation it has to offer. We hope you enjoy the peace and quiet of nature on our property as much as we have. We are a community in Northwestern Pennsylvania located outside the town of Springboro. Many people come through the area to visit Lake Erie. Others come in to hunt in the nearby state game lands. Fishermen especially seek places to stay, but they can be hard to find. We look forward to welcoming them to our community. One of our residents has a greenhouse with beautiful plants and another sells honey. In town, our neighbor has a hunting store that includes an indoor simulated archery experience. This 140-acre property is an old farmstead last farmed in the 1950's. It lies in the Allegheny Plateau region of NW Pennsylvania and is mostly hardwood forest today. It is surrounded by thousands of acres of private forestland and is very secluded. Our goal is to provide a private and secluded yet accessible camping experience where you will see more deer than people. AANR/TNS friendly. There is excellent Verizon and T-Mobile service. The skies are dark at night and the sounds of nature will surround you. Campsite 1 is near where the farmhouse and barn once stood. The site is shaded by large, old maples that once shaded the farmhouse. Old fields surround the farmstead, but the woods are a short walk away.  It is the most popular campsite with an outhouse, fire ring and picnic table available. Campsite 2 is on the other side of the property. There is a fire ring but no picnic table.  Both sites easily accommodate anything from tents to RV's. Each site has a separate, gated, gravel road access. These are the only 2 campsites on the property and they are far enough apart (1/4 mile) to avoid any contact should both sites be occupied. There is a 2-mile loop hiking trail on the property that traverses a variety of habitats which are home to many animals and birds. The trail is well maintained and mowed. The terrain is flat to gentle slopes. The 1/2-mile Narnia Loop trail weaves through a young spruce forest like a maze. It is so cool, literally, even on the hottest days. The Allegheny River is about 10 miles away, near Tidioute, PA, and has excellent paddling and fishing. Titusville, PA is about 15 miles away and is home to Oil Creek State Park which has great trout fishing, an excellent paved bike/hike trail, and Drake Well Museum site of the first oil well ever drilled. Finally, you will be on the doorstep to the Allegheny National Forest with all the outdoor recreation it has to offer. My partner and I loved this cute cabin , right next to Lake Erie! It’s a great size, very clean, and had all the amenities we needed for the start of our cross country trip back home , including a buddy heater for the cold night. Thank you so much for the extra blankets too! We were perfectly snug. We wish we could have spent another night. We got gluten free pizza at Villaggio Italiano, which is right down the road — it was delicious! Couldn’t recommend this spot more!

Second time staying here. Was even more beautiful than the first time go to all of the colors of the trees. Brian is a great host and whatever around checking the car hall I was pulling to make sure everything was secure since my husband was not with me this time. Awesome nights sleep.

We cant express how stunning this property is. The pictures simply don't do it any justice. Barry and his son were wonderful hosts during our stay. They provided plenty of fire wood and water. The bed was comfortable and the tent was cozy. They did offer a heater in case we were too cold at night but we were just fine. Waking up to the sounds of nature and the creek were incredible. Saw my first bald eagle in real life! We couldn't be happier. This site has now become a tradition for us. Cant wait to visit again

Clean air and a clean campground❣️Definitely had a hippy vibe to it, and was not far from the highway. The staff was in contact with me right after my same day reservation, and the owner I met was welcoming. There are port a potties and showers available, but they are in the process of building an actual bathhouse. There is also a pet fee to be aware of. I would describe this as rustic camping, so do not expect something like a formal campground with paved parking spots, fire rings, and picnic tables at the sites. Think open farm field, walk in woods camping. I would stay again❣️

Brian's land was truly an oasis on this trip. A beautiful spot by a quiet pond, this pristine campsite gave me the rest and beauty I needed. Absolutely amazing! Above and beyond! Brian our host was wonderful! Always available. The details inside and outside of the cabin were spectacular. The mowed path was an extra bonus, the beautiful art work on the path, the super comfortable bed, the sweet arrival goodies bag and cleanliness. I cannot wait to return!!

We had such a wonderful time staying at Dave’s campsite! From the moment we arrived, everything was clean, well-kept, and exactly as described. The site had plenty of space for our family, and it was peaceful and private. Dave was friendly, responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Nestled in Pennsylvania Dutch country, between a large dairy farm and the Erie National Wildlife Refuge, Too Far Out Farm is favored for its natural beauty and tranquility. Residents of TFO Farm include horses, sheep, and various other friendlies of the canine and feline varieties. You could set your watch by the evening visits of our neighbors: A herd of very social dairy cows, who always seem to mosey on down right around supper time every evening. The primitive campsite will accommodate tents or a small RV. Don't worry about nosey or annoying camp neighbors, because we only book one group at a time - YOURS! The campsite includes a large fire ring, a limited amount of cut and stacked wood, a composting toilet and a small camp table. There is room for a smaller rig if you want to bring your RV or ATV. ATV or horse trail riding delights many a visitor all four seasons of the year around here. Our herd may be available for horseback riding on the back roads of Penn's woods, but please let us know ahead of time if you want to trail ride. I'm sorry, but we cannot accommodate your personal horses at this time. The farm is within walking distance of hiking and cross-country ski trails that meander through the Erie National Wildlife Refuge. Also, Crawford County's best kept secret for Perch, Walleye and Blue Gill fishing (including ice fishing) is a mile away at Sugar Lake. If you come for the hunting, (in season) let us know in advance and we will help you secure the proper permits and learn the rules of the refuge. Speaking of the wildlife, come armed with your binoculars and a good camera. Common sightings include high and low-flying Bald Eagles and other birds of prey, as well as many varieties of colorful, native song birds. You may also encounter other woodland creatures, such as, White-Tail Deer, Black Bears, Coyotes, and of course, smaller furry critters, like raccoons, fox, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, beavers, ground hogs and opossum. Be sure to steer clear of the skunks and the porcupines, though! We can't wait to share this little slice of heaven on earth with you at Too Far Out Farm!
