Heavily forested mountain property way off the grid in the Elkhorn Mts and borders National Forest. Enjoy hiking, biking, climbing, hammocking, watching wild animals, star gazing, etc. Sorry, no sounds of the city. Host will send you driving directions that need to be printed. There is a short hike (4 to 5 minutes) to each camp site from the Common Parking area, so I suggest packing as lightly as possible. Feel free to use the supplied cart to carry your gear.
Campers have also enjoyed kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, hiking, and the mountain biking trails at Phillips Lake, which is a little over eight miles from TT.
For trails, visit Trailforks.com and search Phillips Lake. Trails range from Easy to Black Diamond.
This area used to have train tracks nearby, thus the road name Old Trestle Lane. Legend has it that "there's gold in them there hills".

Nathan’s hunting cabin is absolutely perfect if you’re looking for a super secluded, extremely private, unplugged getaway. Nestled in the trees, on the most beautiful land, it’s just you and nature and all the stars you could ever hope for. The views are spectacular and the vibes are tranquil and serene. Nathan was easy to communicate with when our gps took us on a wrong turn and extremely helpful with getting us back on the right track. The cabin has propane lanterns for lighting but I suggest bringing some safe-burning candles and enjoying a romantic night in nature. We will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Northside Base Camp
We had an absolutely phenomenal stay at this property! The cabin was cozy, the views were phenomenal, and we absolutely loved getting to do some stargazing! The fresh eggs were a nice add-on as well.
There were several knives and utensils which made cooking especially convenient. The gravel driveway is especially steep at a couple points - while we made it up and down a couple times in a Prius, I definitely would recommend 4WD to save you some anxiety haha

This was a great spot! My husband and I stayed here as a pit stop on our way to Washington and we're so happy we did! The weather was perfect for us and nobody else was camping around, so it was so nice and quiet and peaceful. The directions that Matt recommended we print out made it easy to find, as well. From the communal space, the hike to TT4 only took us 2 mins, but we're avid hikers from Colorado so it was easy peasy. The drive up was also not bad; less than a handful of spots with some dips/bumps/gravel patches that should be easy to navigate even if you don't have high clearance (but if you've ever driven trails in the Rocky Mountains, then this should be a breeze for ya lol). There were even gallons of water and a shovel waiting for us at the campsite, though there were fire restrictions while we were there. All around great spot to spend some time at while passing through!

Beautiful place to get away. We actually were visiting home state, decided to try their farm.
Hosts were very polite and helped us with any needs. Baked bread was a plus, we ate it with our travels on motorcycles. Recommend A+ folks!!

Weekend Trip to Northside Base Camp
This spot was idyllic. Vast views, from the comfort of an extremely well-built and well-maintained tiny cabin (1 room with everything you need- bed, stove, basic cooking supplies, water, & adorable decor). External shower was also lovely, with basic soap & towel provided. *NOTE: be comfortable driving up *very* steep gravel roads!! I think of myself as a good driver on rough terrain, but this road after a rainstorm was outside my capacity. 10/10 would stay again

Our 3 generation family really enjoyed ourselves at this cozy cabin in Eastern Oregon. Our passenger van made it through no problem on the dirt road in along with our travel trailer. The cabin was so homey, had everything we needed and the views were amazing. One night there was an amazing sunset followed by a thunderstorm which our young grandchildren loved dancing in the rain!

I picked this place on a recent trip because the location was convenient and it was cheap. The people here were nice and gave me a better spot with shade because it was a warm day when I stayed there. It was good enough for what I needed that day. Would probably stay here again if I was passing through.

Weekend Trip to Northside Base Camp
So quiet with a beautiful view. The two cabins share a fire pit, picnic table and then across the hill an outhouse and interesting shower. Be aware the dirt driveway is super steep. I would highly recommend this glamping location!

I bookmarked this camp last year, but did not have time to visit it until now. (Yes, I will plan trips around a nice Hipcamp!) This exceeded my expectations and there were so many charming touches. Comfy bed, quiet secluded cabin, propane cook stove worked great, beautiful campfire set up we used both nights (only when fire danger is low-I would not expect to be able to have a fire later in summer) The views of the Strawberry Mtns are incredible. We loved watching the weather roll in. Nice outhouse and gorgeous bathhouse. Was a treat to meet Bruno, the doggo! Would stay again if in the area! A couple notes: the gravel drive is very steep in some spots and personally, would not attempt this without AWD or 4WD. The other note is that this region can be COLD and bring extra warm clothes and blanket just in case.

One of the most beautiful places I’ve stayed in eastern Oregon. The panoramic view of the Strawberry Mountains is hard to beat and unforgettable. Elisha and Josh are fantastic hosts who go above and beyond to make your stay worthwhile. Definitely will be coming back if in the area. One thing to note, be sure you have a vehicle with good traction. The dirt road up the hills is steep. Once you reach your destination it’s a dream!

This was a really great place for us to retreat after a long day of outdoor activities. The amenities and decor were thoughtfully arranged. BUT THE VIEW…WOW. You can have your morning coffee in bed, on the deck, or in an Adirondack chair and look out on Strawberry Mountain. This is a really special place.

It was wonderful staying in such a cozy cabin deep in the forest surrounded by 160 acres of private forest land! I saw plenty of wildlife including a herd of elk, and deer and even a black bear during my 5 night stay! The view of Fox valley was incredible to wake up to and fall asleep to each day! I am thankful for the opportunity to spend time in such a place and only wish I could have stayed longer!
