Alternatively, simply relax and enjoy the picturesque views of the river and the wildlife in the coastal rainforest. Watch the salmon jump during spawning season in November, or cast a rod from our private fishing spot. We are also a birdwatcher's and rockhounding paradise! Just a few minutes away from town amenities, this location allows you to immerse yourself in the tranquility of the forested river canyon, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We are family and fur baby friendly! If you are an animal lover, take the time to enjoy a visit with our cats and chickens too.
*Please note, while we have no direct neighbors, we are in a narrow river canyon. There is an active farm and wedding venue across the river. You may hear distant noise of their operations or events, depending on the season. There is also a quarry across the road that operates M-F, from 8a-3p that sometimes can be heard sporadically throughout the day.

Niagara Creek/Pheasant Creek falls is a nearby hiking trail and there are roads as well as deer and elk trails to explore all over the ranch. If you feel like venturing further, the beach is 23 miles away in Pacific City. Tillamook is 25 miles.
We also offer pasture raised pork for sale. A variety of sausages (breakfast, chorizo, Italian, Bratwurst and French Garlic links) and pork chops.

Camping at Hidden Pillar is a primitive, off-grid experience:

Just down the road about a half mile north there is public access to the Elochoman river which offers swimming, fishing. 2 miles south there is another public access which offers the same. There are also many Canadian geese that land in the field which we encourage you to hunt because they compete with our cattle for grass. If you hunt you will have exclusive access. We also have a gate in our field where you can gain access to a gravel road surrounded by forest where you can horse back, hike, rec vehicle ride hunt or just explore. There is a designated atv dirt bike riding trail at the top of beaver creek road which is approximately 8 miles away.
If you are into bigger water the Columbia river is just 5 miles away. There is a marina with boat ramp, a local brewery and groceries all within walking distance from the Cathlamet Marina. Kayak Rentals also at the Marina. If you are into a beachy feel, head west on SR4 about 10 minutes and visit Vista Park in the town of Skamokawa. It’s a great spot on the Kilches. Yeah there is an active quarry but they don’t operate all day. Not a big deal. Dog friendly and great river access. We travel with our own power banks so electricity wasn’t an issue for us. I’d go again especially in the summer for the great swimming.

What a cute little spot! Was a little more exposed and industrial than we had expected, just off the driveway path of the main property/home and with houses and a well-traveled gravel road nearby. Site was clean and stocked with everything we could need upon arrival. Cowboy hot tub under the stars was magical, the little cabin was stocked with a heater, detailed instructions, snacks, and the lights and paths were intentional and helpful in keeping the vibes cozy and safe with plenty of room for tents. If you're sensitive to noise, this may not be the spot for you. There was a quarry some 25 yards or so away that was very very noisy from 7:30am to about 4:30pm on weekdays with machinery noise and beeping non-stop. Only an 8-minute drive into town if needed, spotty cell service but if you absolutely needed something could drive about 3 minutes out to have reliable data, and a great river for fishing. Sarah and Michael were helpful and present upon arrival and when we needed things and then let us be for the remainder of our stay. But the BEST part by FAR were Butters and Anubis, the camping cats. These two brought so much joy and love and relaxation to the experience! If you're looking for a chill getaway in the area as opposed to an airbnb or hotel, this is the spot for you.

The campground is incredible, there are so many amenities and the space is serene yet close enough to walk to the busy downtown. The cabin we stayed in had everything we needed, from cooking amenities, full bathroom, towels, bedding (having sheets is not always the case!), and heating. They have a station to rinse off all your sandy gear. They also have showers and sinks for washing if you decide to camp. I can't wait to visit again!

it was clean, very cozy, the shower was hot with great water pressure. the kitchen sink is tiny and challenging to wash dishes in. all and all was pretty good. but the sleeping quarters were tight--not much clearance for those sleeping on the bottom bunk (full size bed), since the top bunk was so low. weird design i guess, especially since there's tons of room/vaulted ceiling above the top bunk. was a little hard for my partner and i to sleep in. we did love the elk who came through and the wetlands/creek right in the campground. we didn't use the sauna or other facilities so can't speak to that.

Bev and Brenda were so amazingly accommodating! I stayed in the cabin and loved the comfortable bed and the covered deck to sit on. There was also a propane stove to heat up my water. Needless to say, I will be back for sure to do this again. The campground is very secluded from the main home and the road, the running creek was such a beautiful noise and only about 15 paces away from my front step. My dog was with me and he was loving the space to run and play with the ball.

Comfortably and cozy for two ppl. Short drive to beach and downtown. Very thoughtful staff, they called me to update about the room access during off hours. Basic Kitchen space and equipment is available. Bathroom was comfortable for us, but if anyone is above 6’2” might have to hunch during shower. We are two ppl with one dog.

The cabin at Sarah’s place is awesome. It’s warm and cozy with thoughtful touches and the rushing river is blissful. Seeing the salmon spawning and jumping was an extra treat.
