RV space has 50 amp power, well water and RV sewer. Your own toilet is a must. Be prepared to “Pac-in, pack-out.”  This is a protected wilderness area. There’s a mix of sun and shade. At approximately 2600 ft elevation, a fresh gentle breeze significantly cools the late afternoon and evening summer temperatures. Most cell service carriers do get reception at this location, however, there is no WIFI. This can be a pull-through-and-around area. A long RV/trailer may need to make a y turn.  Short distance nature trails in the adjacent woodlands can be enjoyed in the immediate area. Elk Haven Ranch consists of 40 acres at the base of a mountain range that is BLM federal land. There is an elk herd and of course deer on the property. This property is a haven for them, no hunting is allowed. If you are looking to throw a Frisbee with your dog in a forested and meadow setting, without tons of campers right next to you, then this is your place. Room to roam, fresh water April through September and easy access to a common electricity plug-in where you can charge your cell phones and air mattresses on the electric pole by the entry gate. If you are looking to play games, just ask us for the corn hole or horse shoes, or help yourself to the games already out and available. The Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest is made up of 1.8 million acres and spans from the Western Cascades to the Siskiyou Mountains. With somewhere between 60 to 100 inches of rain per year this escape is filled with a diversity of green and a lone Rogue River. Relax into the end-of-the-road privacy while still being 10 min to Grants Pass and 5 min to the nearest convenience store. We have 5 acres of grass and conifers, with madrone and oak and big leaf maple throughout. There are alders and cottonwood by the water. The main house is at the top of the property. We have several fire pits and places to camp in tents, hammocks, or RVs. We have delicious well water and fire wood stocked. We are a large family of colorful people and animals living a little up river from the merge with the Rogue River. We are open to animal guests, but there are free range chickens and cats, as well as small children on the property.

An architectural dream, you enter this lodge style home through a pivoting hobbit style front door with hardware from the 1800's. Highlights of this original home include a gourmet kitchen with labradorite granite counters, 800 year old juniper tree spiral stair case, huge beams and exposed rafters, a sauna, and a romantic wood stove. Also each upstairs bedroom has a hanging bed with three 8 foot skylights above for indoor star gazing. Original artworks from local artists are throughout the home. Many pleasantries await the curious such as embedded fossils in the cracked mud walls.Nestled amongst towering fir and cedar trees, with windows everywhere, you'll feel and see nature's presence. This home site has a remarkably peaceful way about it. Recently featured in Southern Oregon Magazine and KCBY 11 TV's ~In Focus~ 'Goin' Green' and Oregon's Solar Home Tour, this is a unique 'green' home. This home was built with environmentally friendly materials. Building with little impact on the surroundings was very important to us during construction. The myrtle hardwood floor in the kitchen and living room was milled on site which came from trees that stood where the house is now. Same story for the beautiful maple flooring in the ½ bath. All of the large beams and fir flooring came from two 4' thick 104 year old douglas fir trees which also stood and were milled where the house is now. The fir trees sprouted after the last forest fire that came through the canyon. One of our neighbors fell a sixty five year old redwood that was over six feet thick! We used some of it as a wonderful wainscot paneling throughout the house. All of the finishes used are no or low VOC. Surrounding the house is native vegetation, huge trees and a few herbs and spices for cooking. You'll enjoy the fully equipped kitchen with labradorite granite counters. The kitchen island has a new five burner gas stove with a convection oven and warming oven. The island has plenty of granite and wood counter space. Hanging from the exhaust hood are stainless, non-stick, and cast iron cookware. We also provide shade grown fair trade coffee and a grinder, espresso machine, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, utensils, chef knives, glasses and frosty cocktail glasses in the freezer. The dining room table has a river view and can seat six comfortably. There is also seating for three at the island bar. From the kitchen you can visit with the folks in the living room thanks to the open floor plan. Beside the wood stove are two chairs and the futon couch with reading lamp. A CD changer, TV with a DVD player and VHS machine are in the downstairs bedroom. Bring your favorite videos or browse our selection of movies. The property has 150 feet of creek frontage with great views of Glenn creek, the forest and distant cliffs. Enjoy wildlife viewing with River Dippers, Chipmunks, Kingfishers, Great Blue Herons, Screech Owls, Pileated Wood Peckers, Elk, an occasional Bald Eagle or River Otter and other wildlife from the house and back deck. Build a fire and have lunch on the nearby picnic table and benches.

This was our first stop on a tour testing a camper van. It was a perfect start to our adventure. Spacious lots (and a wide variety of stay outings), loved the dish wash station and the showers (with heated clean bathrooms) were AMAZING! Great proximity to many different waterfalls. Staff were also incredibly responsive and helpful. Highly recommend!

Joy’s residence was such a pleasure to stay at! We booked both Pine Camp sites and stayed with friends. The 3rd site (Dave’s Camp) wasn’t booked but even if it was, the sites are fairly separated and the Pine Camp sites would have still felt completely private. There is a nice little trail behind the camp sites that the dogs enjoyed, and plenty of shade for hanging out and relaxing! Joy was so friendly, communicative, and was flexible with us when we requested leaving slightly later than normal checkout time (since no one coming in after us). The sites were well set up, clean, and had a cute, cozy vibes to them! As others have stated, the sewer hookup is on the front side of the site and the electric and water is on the back. We chose to wait to hook up sewer and just dumped the tanks right before leaving. The water spigot is set back aways from the site, we had extra hoses so it was no trouble but you will need some hose length (50’) to reach! A wonderful experience and our next trip to the Crater Lake area we will no doubt request to stay with Joy again!

We camped at site 17 with a tent and really enjoyed our stay. The site was spacious, shaded, and private, with a picnic table and fire ring in great condition. Bathrooms and water were a short walk away and kept clean. The river and tall trees made the setting peaceful and quiet at night. A great spot for tent camping—we’d definitely return.

He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area—sharing tips on local hikes, waterfalls, and hidden gems that we never would have found on our own. Highly recommend this campground if you want a welcoming place to stay. It is centrally located to explore many of waterfalls Crater Lake.

This is an awesome place. Quiet, clean, serene and safe. Close to Crater Lake and many many Rogue River hikes. Our host, Joy was responsive, welcoming and informative. Sites are clean, level, full hook up tucked under pine trees. Cell service is adequate but we have starlink too. I just cannot say enough nice things.

Such a great place to stay! I appreciated the nice & clean bathroom facilities. I felt very safe solo camping there. The pond area that’s walking distance from the campsites was so peaceful and nice to take a little dip in. Will definitely be coming back next year to explore the other waterfalls in that area.

There were three families in our group, each with our own trailer, and we were very happy to find that all of the sites had full hookups, which made things easy and comfortable for everyone. The camp host, Joy, was fantastic—friendly, welcoming, and always helpful. She really made our stay even better. The camps themselves are perfect for families, with plenty of space for kids to play and explore. Behind Pine Camp #1 and #2, there’s a trail that leads down to a small creek. The location is also ideal. It’s close to Crater Lake, Mill Creek Falls, and several other attractions and amenities in the area, making it a great basecamp for adventures. We truly enjoyed our time here and would love to come back. It’s a place we’d highly recommend to anyone looking for a family-friendly campground in a beautiful area, with an amazing host like Joy to make you feel right at home. Very very quiet and secluded! The camps themselves are perfect for families, with plenty of space for kids to play and explore. Behind Pine Camp #1 and #2, there’s a trail that leads down to a small creek, which quickly became a favorite spot for the kids. The location is also ideal. It’s close to Crater Lake, Mill Creek Falls, and several other attractions and amenities in the area, making it a great basecamp for adventures. We truly enjoyed our time here and would love to come back. It’s a place we’d highly recommend to anyone looking for a family-friendly campground in a beautiful area, with an amazing host like Joy to make you feel right at home

1 night at Umpqua's Last Resort

The campsite was quaint and host was very welcoming! Pretty buggy but to be expected in a forest. I will say: do NOT use Google maps right from the Hipcamp map/location listing. Put the address in the description manually into your GPS. Google maps literally brought us 35 min in the wrong direction up a forest road on the side of the mountain as we were losing daylight! The road it brought us to was incredibly narrow and we could barely turnaround without feeling like we were about to fall off the side of the mountain. We were STRESSED. The campsite says it’s remote, it is right off the main highway through Umpqua National Forest. There is no service but there is wifi at the site you can pay for-not really what I would consider remote! There is also a small camp store next to the campsite. Free hot showers! Only downside was it’s not lockable (just a curtain in front of the toilets and showers) so that was a little unnerving but everyone seems very respectful. We left a bunch of stuff at our campsite out and no one messed with it! Wish we had an extra day to do the waterfall tour!
