In 1948 a wildfire came thru what then was a mixed forest of spars old growth conifers, evergreen and deciduous broadleaf trees burning intensely enough to render the entire area to primarily grassland. Today it is quickly returning to primarily mixed forest, recovering the ability to hold water at cooler temperatures as it once did.
Nestled on the south slope of Dickinson Mountain it offers plenty of sunshine yet some of the best cool freshwater to be found anywhere. Although much of this paradise is considerably steep there are ample cow and goat trails to make exploring extremely enjoyable.
Bachelor Creek which runs thru approximately 1/2 mile of the Southeast portion is home to beaver, cutthroat, western pond turtles, great blue heron, and many other wildlife.
There is a pair of resident Redtail hawks, wild turkeys, deer, bobcat, coyote, cougar, mink, flying, silver grey, and pine squirrels, owls (sawhete, screach, Pigmy, barred, and great horned), and many others.
There are also many swimming holes on Bachelor Creek and a tributary we call Dancing creek, although they are all somewhat small the water is nice and refreshing for a quick dip on a warm day.
This is a working farm raising cattle, and chickens. On that note please don't feed any of the animals as they could become a real nuisance. If you are going to be leaving your camp for a hike or swim etc. please secure any food items to avoid a potential disaster.
The farm is 170 acres (a half mile by a half mile) and there is a fence all the way around it. Feel free to hike wherever, as long as you don't cross any fences you are still here.
You can take a dip in the creek where it comes out of the culvert below the road and there is a picnic table at each site as well as at the dipping hole.

We enjoyed our stay on Jamie's land. The property is beautiful. Totally surrounded by mature forest and a large lawn with grazing deer. The RV pads were very well constructed and required no leveling. Jamie came to meet us right away to explain the hookups, give directions to forest and creek, wifi password, and even brought treats for our pup. We weren't able to take advantage of the sitting area because of the rain, but it was a nice space. We would recommend this property to other travelers in the area.

What an amazing place to stay! James and Linda go above and beyond to make you feel safe and attend to your needs, while giving you your privacy and space. Their land is absolutely stunning, the creek has it's own waterfall (and feels more like a river), and the camp spots are easy to back a trailer into and are nice and level. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend it!

What a beautiful spot! The stark contrast between a hi-tech unit set in a remote nature space is awesome. 🤩 The deer in the yard & sunrise behind the trees was beautiful! Stars are super visible & there are multiple waterfall hikes nearby & it’s only 30 min outside Eugene. We appreciated the local info the host provided & the Nespresso & top tier toiletries & snacks. The shower & Biobedet & everything LED was just so cool! We will definitely be back again!

We had a great time at the RV site for 5 nights. We camped in tents outside the RV and it was wonderful having a ton of shade nestled up next to the forest with the summer heat!
There is so much to do on the property and we didn’t need to leave to keep our nearly 4-year-old busy and entertained. We went to the creek every day (on tubes and wandering in the creek), biked around, stumbled upon a stream in the nearby forest, played in the field and around the fruit trees, hiked to top of the property and so much more!
James and Linda are very accommodating and kind hosts. We missed them after we left and hope to return soon! This place is special and they are continually working to improve it. Definitely go here, it’s a GEM!

Ron was wonderful host! We loved camping at dancing creek and would consider staying again. We stayed here on our way from Portland to Crater lake. We requested camp 1 but since both sites were avalible for our duration ron recommended we check out site 2 and see if we would like it, which we did. The property is massive, we saw(and dipped in) the creek, ron's garden, and a meadow up the hill. The view from the medow was spectacular. One of the best parts was just chatting with ron he made us feel welcome and was just a really cool guy. Also we got to see the cows just before we left.

James and Linda were the most gracious hosts! When we arrived James gave us a tour and showed us the different swimming holes (which were absolutely breathtaking and easily accessible). Our kids built forts and overall has the best time. It was an amazing stay for our family and very kid friendly. It is quiet and my two kids had a great time hearing the sounds of nature, picking plums off of the trees, swimming and having space to be kids. James was very responsive to our needs and quick to solve any issue we had. We are already thinking through all of the people we want to bring back to this amazing place! Thank you James and Linda!

3 nights at Winberry Walden
Staying ath Winberry Walden was a dream come true. The remote location hearing on nature, the river in the backyard, and the wild life around was so wonderful. The hosts, James and Linda provide every comfort one would need inside their glamping studio, which is really a VERY cozy stay with a mini split, a kitchenette, and stylish bathroom that is wonderful to warm up in! The near by river with private swimming holes, hikes around the property were so much fun too. We will be retunring and cannot recommend this stunning get away for anyone looking for a nature retreat. Not to mention how close they are too from a really cool lake that was nearly empty in the middle of summer. This is such a hidden gem of a place! We cannot wait to see what James and Linda keep doing with this property and opening up more spaces to people to enjoy this beatiful location. My only complaint is that I had to go home. ;) Thank you, James and Lind!

Beautiful property right on Paradise Creek! Easy to navigate with my 17’ travel trailer. Would highly recommend. We saw a black bear walk up the creek-wonderful wildlife, birds and minnows fluttering in the creek. Just follow the directions and it is easy to find!
