The Peace Park is designed for bikers, hikers, dog walkers, and anyone traveling through to book a campsite even if anyone isn't available to meet and greet. Campers, once booked may go to an available campsite and set up camp.
Dog-friendly, handicapped-accessible Porta-Jon with hand sanitizer, shared electricity for charging phones, pristine aquifer water, picnic tables, fire pits, fire-side benches, birds, butterflies, lightning bugs, wild turkeys, deer, and other wildlife are often seen.
Please note: We're located on a section of the Ohio-Erie Canal Scenic Byway, the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad, and a 90-degree corner with a slight slope that causes trucks to downshift brakes. If you're a light sleeper, we recommend bringing earplugs! We now offer disposable individual packaged earplugs in our Porta-Jon.

You can get into all sorts of shenanigans in Shenango River Lake Park. River shenanigans are the best here, from fishing on a lazy day to kayaking on a more adventurous one, and just about every water-related thing you can imagine in between. You can also get into lots of shenanigans in the forested hills throughout the park all year-round. Whomever named Mosquito Lake Park obviously didn't understand good PR, but don't let the name discourage you. Nearly 2,500 acres of marshes and woodlands create a beautiful ambiance for your next getaway in Mother Nature. Stroll along one of two trails in the park, where robins and warblers tucked behind purple cresses and beech-maple trees may just move you to tears, or at least to write a haiku. Floating devices of just about every variety are invited to channel the 7,850 lake, and areas like a dog park means Fido is more than welcome on the scene. We doubt the mosquitos will be much of a problem, but if worse comes to worse, you can just light some of those good-smelling candles or load up on the catnip (look it up!) to fend off potential itchy bites.

This campsite is easy to find. We parked close to pond with electric hookup. She had a canoe for us but we never used it. Fishing was good. Nice quiet place. Lots of paved trails to walk on. Would definitely recommend going here.

Clean campsite, the grass is mowed nicely. The fire pits are clean and the tow path is within view of the campsites. Joe was super friendly and told us the history of the property and surrounding town. The portable bathroom needs some work and in my opinion needs to be cleaned more often. Great site with a lot of history. It’s not every night you get to camp inside the Erie canal. Joe met me as I was setting up and gave me a history lesson on the area. I wish I’d had more time to spend learning about the region. The site is well situated and easy to find. Nighttime trucks on the County Road and a couple of trains might disrupt your sleep. But it’s worth it to stay in this unique location.

For those that can't get by without a shower this is great. The basement level of the cabin has all the house essentials, but you still get to stay in a tent or rv for everything else associated with camping. Our dog enjoyed being off leash at the property and we loves being the only ones there.
