With over 230 acres, a lake, trails, the Grand River, plenty of wildlife, and FREE firewood. Bass and Buck Adventures is the perfect place to get away. Once known as Parkman Gorge the valley was a hub for water powered industry in the early 1800's. The river and valley is home to a wide array of wildlife. Deer, turkey, eagles, hawks, owls, mink, river otters to name a few. The area also attracts many song birds including a wide variety of warblers. There is also an abundance of wild flowers. The valley is rich in Native American history. Many artifacts have been found on the property. My great grandfather talked about the last Native American to live in Parkman. He had a cabin on one of the bluffs along the river. In the 1820's there was a water powered sawmill, flaxseed mill, and forge on the river. The boy scouts used the valley for a camp in the 1920,s. My grandpa purchased the property in the 50's from Ohio Edison. Ohio Edison's plan to dam up the river for hydro power never materialized. The valley has been a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts. Camping, hiking, fishing, hunting. Many of the items used for the camp sites have been reclaimed. The fire rings are old tractor rims and scrap steel. The tent platform is from reclaimed deck lumber. We have just under 20 acres. You can drive right to the camp sites located about 700 foot behind the house. It is a peaceful setting over looking a pond, fishing is welcome. There is a pavilion and a playground. Kids and dogs are welcome. We are close to several local wineries and about 20 minutes from Lake Erie. Pymatuning Lake is 30 minutes away. Geneva on the Lake is about 30 minutes from us. We have a catch and release fishing pond. There are 8 sites, all pretty spaced out to give privacy and a relaxing experience. 2 of which are pretty secluded site 6 and site 8. Campsites 1, 2,4,5 and 7have a view of the pond. Site 3 is near a meadow and sits behind all the other sites. Sites 1,2,3,7 can be RV or tent sites. The pavilion adds a sense of comfort especially during rain days. We have corn hole , bocce ball and a few other relaxing games as well as a few card and board games for playing while enjoying the pavilion.

Great place to relax, star gaze , enjoy a nice fire in fire pit. Very quiet and peaceful. You get greated by a black lab and chocolate lab , Tucker and Cooper very good Dogs luv to play Fetch , will bring you stick ...lol Both great dogs don't jump on you .. Just want to play fetch . Owners are Great people to.. Had good conversation with both . Highly recommend Old Smoky , lots of winerys, places to eat , and only short drive to lake Erie.

Forge hill was perfect. It was easily accessible had a good fire ring and table. Rick provides firewood, which is very convenient. We caught many bass, bluegill, and catfish in the stocked lake. There are also kayaks, a canoe, and a paddle boat to get out on the water.

Cheri’s property is beautiful and well maintained. Most of the tent sites have a view of their pond. The location is very quiet and the stars are bright at night. They keep the firewood very well stocked and are readily available to be contacted should you need anything like more wood, a shower, etc. I spent two nights here and can’t wait to come back. The camp is located very conveniently in Jefferson near stores if you need any supplies or to access trails/other activities.

The hosts, Cheri and Mike, have done a wonderful job with their property. It’s a park like setting complete with a playground for kids. All campsites are well spaced each with their own unique space. Mike was very good about keeping us stocked with firewood. They both keep the property well groomed. The pavilion was used by us a lot as it rained a few times. Kids would have a blast fishing as the Bluegill bite is great. We will definitely return.

I would not have previously considered the Cleveland area to be a camping destination, but this site is worth the trip in and of itself. The property is so peaceful and beautiful, with massive old growth trees and a lovely creek. I’ve never heard such a chorus of insects, birds, and frogs anywhere I’ve camped before. Rick is a great host and kindly set us up with firewood when we told him we’d be getting in late, which we really appreciated. While this site was just a quick one night stop for us I hope to come back and have a chance to explore more of the property.

Great site, Clip Clip was a bit further then expected from area we could drop off supplies from. Amazing listening to river run next to the site. Firewood that was provided was seasoned nicely and available too get to the site easily with provided carts. Parking area was not very well marked on site, but plenty of room so it didn't seem to matter.

This is a spacious and quiet property. The hosts have done a nice job making it welcoming with a stocked fire pit, and a table and chairs. We arrived late and left early, but it was a perfect stop!
