Weekend Trip to Indian Lake Adventures

We had a great time glamping in our adorable Indian Lake tiny house! The grounds are well maintained and lovely, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. On the edge of the property is a brew pub with games, cozy seating indoors and out, fire pits, and sometimes even live music and food trucks, which was a pleasant surprise. House was well equipped with many essentials, too. Would definitely stay again!!

Perfect stop between two travel days. As described: spacious, private, quiet. Wes was communicative and directions were clear for an after dark arrival. Would stop through again!

The site was awesome, quiet and peaceful. You could hear the river flowing over the rocks from the tent. The area was clean and well taken care of. The hosts were very friendly and attentive. The history of the area is amazing! We woke up to wild turkeys and dear hanging out across the river every morning!

Our very first night as life time mobile living. It was completely random and I'm not sure how our night would have ended without HipCamp or Joshua's home for us to stay in that night. Living city life all the time, and waking up in their backyard was actually quite beautiful and welcome. We needed to leave a little later, and much unlike city life...they were very ok with us leaving late. I only needed to see them to hook up some electric. It took a few minutes for them to notice we had pulled in, but again...this is their backyard they are letting us stay in for a very nominal fee. It was as advertised and worth anyone's boondocking or traveling needs

Grins & Pickin's CampFarm was created to share the outdoors with others. Growing food & flowers, camping & hiking is what we like to do. And we like sharing these activities. Our family oriented outdoor recreation facility is open on weekends only and offers primitive camping, PYO produce during the growing season, homesteading activities & nature-based programs. The peaceful 20-acre country farm has food gardens, a frog habitat pool, a barnyard for the chickens & ducks, a bluegill fishin' pond, a pollinator maze, a prairie garden, and an outdoor stage. After crossing a winding creek into 10 acres of woods, you may see deer, turkey, fox, coyote, mink, eagles & barred owls. In early spring, the peepers are peeping, wildflowers are abundant & the vernal pools welcome the wood frogs, salamanders and fairy shrimp. Summer brings on the bullfrogs, butterflies, dragonflies and fireflys. Fall is a great time to pull grapevine to make wreaths & to build stick forts in the woods. We cater to the tent camper so that we can hear frogs & owls instead of generators. But, there is an RV section up front for those with quiet generators with several feet of gravel under the grass to hold the weight of your camper. We charge by the carload & there are different rates for driving back toward the woods for camping depending on the number of wheels & the weight of your vehicle (a factor on the wear & tear on the land). We believe in going outside to play, growing & eating fresh food, strengthening family bonds and promoting the awareness of our natural resources. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: 1) The speed limit is 5 mph as soon as you enter the property (kids & dogs are quick to dart in front of you). 2) As a state registered campground, it is mandatory that you check in at the house to fill out a Registration Form before heading to your campsite. 3) No glass allowed anywhere on the property (we don't want our feet or paws cut open and can do without flat tires). 4) Children under 18 must be attended to at all times for their safety (the frog pool is 10' deep, the pond is 8-10' deep depending on rains, and the creek can turn into a churning river). We bought this 125+ year old farm in 2010 with the hope of bringing it back to life. Overgrown and neglected, we have worked hard to make it a nice place for hiking, kayaking, fishing or any number of other activities. Peaceful and remote, the property has a beautiful brook that leads you to the South branch of the Portage river. Deer, turkey, geese, herons, mink and fox are just a few of our natural animal friends. Rusty the steer and his pony friends Buckeye and Lexi can be visited while they graze in the pasture. There's also Turk the turkey and his flock of chickens. We have the perfect place for dogs as well. We have four dogs that get along great with others and our fenced pond keeps them safe.

Good Knights Reserve

Good Knights Reserve is located in Union County, Ohio just on the outskirts of Marysville. With a total of 60 acres, you'll have nothing but peace and privacy on the back 15 acres of the property. A 1/2 mile drivable path will take you to the one site currently offered. Here you can pitch your tent, build a campfire, catch and release a few fish from the pond, or choose to sit on the floating dock with your feet in the water. A shooting range for target practice is available or take a short walk through the wooded trail. The camp site sits next to a wooded wetland so you'll fall asleep to the sound of croaking frogs and various other creatures communicating back and forth. A clean porta-john is close by and a small charcoal grill and picnic table with seating for 8 is available. The Marysville Upground Reservoir is just 2.4 miles down the road for more outside activities. There's also a dog friendly winery and brewery 2 miles away. Marysville boasts 5 golf courses and has several quaint bakeries and boutiques in the uptown area. Come visit Union County and discover the unique history behind its 7 covered bridges then return to Good Knights Reserve for smores around the campfire and a peaceful night's sleep. Mi off of i-75 a mile from route 66 an 5 miles from route 30. the old miami Erie canal runs through many towns close by, within walking distance, biking or hiking. Ohio caverns are within 45 minutes of this location. A local tavern within a mile and the best ice cream in the area within five miles, " the creamery" of Delphos. Could just stay enjoy a game of cornhole or 9-hole golf on site.
