We bought this 125+ year old farm in 2010 with the hope of bringing it back to life. Overgrown and neglected, we have worked hard to make it a nice place for hiking, kayaking, fishing or any number of other activities. Peaceful and remote, the property has a beautiful brook that leads you to the South branch of the Portage river. Deer, turkey, geese, herons, mink and fox are just a few of our natural animal friends. Rusty the steer and his pony friends Lexi and Little Bits can be visited while they graze in the pasture or as they rest at the barn. There are chickens and Brindle the barn kitty. We have the perfect place for dogs as well. We have five dogs of our own that get along great with others and our fenced pond keeps them safe. We allow kayaking on the pond when our dogs are inside. But fishing has been restricted due to unfortunate incidents. Hiking trails, crisscross the properties on both sides of the road. We’ve added 8 acres across the creek to the south of the barn bringing our total to 16 acres for you to wander freely. The trails are being developed and some are dead ends. Be cautious to stay on the trails as there are many nasty plants off of the trails. No open toed shoes should be worn, as poison ivy as present pretty much everywhere. A guided tour is available when available. We also provide Firewood and kayaks and animal interactions for fees. ESV is help us pay for our animal upkeep, including food, Vet bills, and Ferrier fees. We appreciate all donations made to that cause. Our future development will include Rusty‘s Barn. Which will be a music/wedding venue. That would be located in the upstairs of the barn.

Each site is in a wooded, shaded area with a flat area on the ground to place a single large tent. Each site has its own fire ring and a small wooden table. There is wood on the ground you may use for firewood, and ample twigs etc on the ground for kindling (do not cut any trees or branches off trees). There is a covered firewood shed with dry firewood as well. There are maintained trails with river access for kayaks. There are 2 porta potties near the campsites with a handwashing station, that is open year round. There is a single bathroom with flush toilet and sink with running water that is a short walk away (open May-Oct depending on weather) There is an outdoor on-demand hot-water shower at bathroom, with a water hose available as well. Hosts were also very helpful with our last minute booking (our original reservation was cancelled due to flooding and we had to replan our route). Would definitely stay again and recommend!

Just a note it is semi private, In their back yard (no visual barrier to their home). If you’re a light sleeper bring ear plugs for the light Road and train noise. Good communication and very helpful.!!! I would camp here again!

The host Larry was always available and extremely accommodating! Great little field, perfect for kids. I will say when I stayed we did get stuck in the mud pretty bad, but that is of no fault to the owner whatsoever. I am including this so you can be prepared based on the weather, and Larry did everything in his power to help us out! I also think he will be getting the spots concreted very soon so that may not be an issue going forward! I would recommend to EVERYBODY to stay here :) if I could give more than 5 stars I would.

This campground was super clean, family friendly. The camp store has a ton of stuff. Love that's there's firewood on site and pretty cheap. Not to mention hot food at the camp store We ended up at the brewery. Good drinks, good food. They have food trucks and entertainment on a rotating schedule. Dog loved the dog park! Nice bonus. All around amazing experience
