This small farm is 7 acres of the original 25 my great grandmother purchased for her family in 1934. Guests can enjoy the cabin as well as the barn, which has been converted to a rec area. Make our home and green space yours for a few days. Camp in comfort in our "little cabin in the woods." Accommodates up to six guests, with a queen-sized bed, a futon and two low single beds in the loft, accessible only by ladder. Kids 6 and older may sleep in the loft-- just like Laura and Mary-- and they can read a chapter of one of Laura Ingalls' "Little House" books before bed! The Camp Cabin contains a small refrigerator, microwave and gas fireplace (no, the pioneers didn’t have that!). Fresh eggs and other snacks are provided for breakfast. The restroom and shower are located in the walkout basement of the farmhouse, a 40 yard walk from the Cabin. The restroom has a private entrance and is used only by guests during their stay. I was very excited for this stay, and it was even better than I expected. The land and the cabin were beautiful, Donna and Garry were lovely as were all the goats and the chickens! Wonderful people and a wonderful stay!!! The cabin has everything you need and was very comfortable, even with our big dogs.

Awesome spot for fishing, leisurely paddling, and car camping. Clean, water was great, firewood was well seasoned and appropriately priced, outhouse was accessible and not terrifying (I only rate outhouses as terrifying or not). Will be coming back very soon.

We loved tent camping on Drew's property! It is absolutely beautiful here. The sites are spaced perfectly so that any noise made by other campers isn't too loud. We spent our anniversary weekend here and it was the perfect spot for it!! We definitely loved our little visitors that came by occasionally! The toilet was an unexpected plus! The property was really clean. Fishing could've been better but it was also chilly so that may have been why. 1000% recommend staying here!

4 nights at The Camp Cabin at the Hallstead

My husband and I were looking for a quiet couples getaway. We found the property and site to be beautiful. The cabin was cozy. The hosts were awesome! They thought of everything!! What stood out as unique is the access to the barn where we found an endless amount of activities. We fed the goats, hiked a beautiful trail and watched a spectacular sunset. We even made time to practice our canoeing skills on the small pond that was adjacent to our cabin. The bathroom in the back basement of the host house was clean and well stocked only about 75 feet away from our cabin. They kept this area well lit just in case you had to go in the middle of the night. What a fun experience for families with small children!!

Weekend Trip to Private Pond Camping

We absolutely loved this spot! You could see houses from the camp spot, but there are no other campers so it is quite private. The porta potty was extremely clean and convenient. Great trails for walking. There’s also a family dollar right down the road incase you need to grab something!
