Weekend Trip to Hilltop Resorts and Campgrounds

Nice quiet location. Still a bit off season so not many people around. We fit nicely on the pad with our 31 foot class C and car. Minimal leveling needed in our site. Great location close to Logan, Hocking State Park, and Nelsonville. We visited the Jack Pine glass studio and the Rocky boot outlet. Everyone at campground was friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean which definitely wins points with me!!

Weekend Trip to Salt Creek Camp at Sunnyvale Farm

This HipCamp is only 10 minutes from campus. It is a great option for visiting the college without having to pay crazy hotel prices! Also, the host is fabulous. This past weekend was so wet that our camper ended up getting a little stuck. Ed, the host, offered to let us leave it until it dries out or pull us out! He is so helpful and accommodating. Cannot recommend this option enough!

Had a great one night stay while passing thru. Easy to find and Keith the owner was great! The bath house is close by and clean. Lots to do in the area and hope to make it back some day! The only downside is this site is right off the road but there is very little traffic.

The owner was great! Greeted us and answered all our questions. The site is along a dry creek. The bathrooms were about 100 yards away. Nice and clean. Beautiful area and perfect basecamp for mountain biking and hiking.

Awesome little basecamp for baileys trail system! The campsites are insta-fabulous with string lights, adirondack chairs, fire-pits, and picnic tables. The bathroom and shower are brand new and very nice! Only a 30 foot walk from your tent.

We loved camping on Jim's Land. We were in the back of the property which felt secluded. Also a decent amount of flat areas for tents for larger groups. Communication was good and directions were clear. He even started a fire for when we arrived and offered to take us to get a slushy at the winery (which we declined due to it being a bit chilly out!). We were visited a few times by his dogs, who were sweet. It's a short 20 minute drive to Old Mans Cave at Hocking Hills. Would recommend a stay at Fern Valley Rock Campsite at Natures Way!

We stayed in a pull-thru RV spot. The location is very clean and quiet. We needed bundles of firewood after normal hours and they were kind and answered and brought us 2 bundles. We will camp here next time we go to Hocking Hills.

I was on a short getaway from home and needed to find somewhere to pitch my tent for the night. The site was clean and peaceful!! I could hear other campers off in the distance, but I had my privacy. I felt like queen of the mountain. Up there all by myself.

Jim's place was super cute! Our site (site #8) was really close to the home, but we still felt like we had privacy. We also felt super welcome to explore the land and come and go as we pleased. We stayed on a cold night and have a fully sheltered restroom so close to the site was lovely. We'd definitely stay here again!

The massive timbers and joinery are constant reminders of the meticulous craftsmanship of the era. Visiting the Hocking Hills ? No interest in crowded campgrounds ? you have found 75 acres mostly wooded with trails right at the start of the Hocking Hills. (easy access from 33 and to Logan) There are various places around the property to pitch a tent. There are also options for RV parking with no hookups. I can transport you and your gear to the remote sites. ATV's are also welcome on the property. Firewood will be provided for free and in abundant amount. The site on top of the hill is a very secluded and mowed crest of hill surrounded by dogwood trees and the invasive Autumn Olive bushes. The site above the rxrwinery.com is a secluded, mowed clearing in the mature woods. There are also 2 sites in the valley that allow you to be near your vehicle. While on my property, clothing is optional. If you are traveling with an RV, the Sunny Rest location is the best with campfire. This is a valley and may get soft after heavy rain. Please keep wheels near the lane if there's any question to the ground conditions and maneuvering your vehicle, please contact me.

Our family oriented outdoor recreation facility is open on weekends only and offers primitive camping, PYO produce during the growing season, homesteading activities & nature-based programs. The peaceful 20-acre country farm has food gardens, a frog habitat pool, a barnyard for the chickens & ducks, a bluegill fishin' pond, a pollinator maze, a prairie garden, and an outdoor stage. After crossing a winding creek into 10 acres of woods, you may see deer, turkey, fox, coyote, mink, eagles & barred owls. In early spring, the peepers are peeping, wildflowers are abundant & the vernal pools welcome the wood frogs, salamanders and fairy shrimp. Summer brings on the bullfrogs, butterflies, dragonflies and fireflys. Fall is a great time to pull grapevine to make wreaths & to build stick forts in the woods. We cater to the tent camper so that we can hear frogs & owls instead of generators. But, there is an RV section up front for those with quiet generators with several feet of gravel under the grass to hold the weight of your camper. We charge by the carload & there are different rates for driving back toward the woods for camping depending on the number of wheels & the weight of your vehicle (a factor on the wear & tear on the land). We believe in going outside to play, growing & eating fresh food, strengthening family bonds and promoting the awareness of our natural resources. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: 1) The speed limit is 5 mph as soon as you enter the property (kids & dogs are quick to dart in front of you). 2) As a state registered campground, it is mandatory that you check in at the house to fill out a Registration Form before heading to your campsite. 3) No glass allowed anywhere on the property (we don't want our feet or paws cut open and can do without flat tires). 4) Children under 18 must be attended to at all times for their safety (the frog pool is 10' deep, the pond is 8-10' deep depending on rains, and the creek can turn into a churning river).
