Our beautiful 1800’s cabin was moved to the property in the 1970’s by a former neighbor who owned the property at the time. The same neighbor also had a historic train depot moved to the property where she sold antiques out of for several years. It is not sure what the cabin was used for at that time but it certainly added charm to the antique store property. When we acquired the property years later, the cabin was in need of work. It sat for a few years until we decided to restore this lovely cabin back to it’s beautiful charm and character. Jim spent a couple years on the project working in his free time and added the porch using old wood in keeping with the natural look and feel of the cabin as well as some interior areas. Upon completion, we opened the cabin as a gift shop selling unique items including antiques, primitives and decor for a few years. We decided to transition the cabin into a place of retreat for traveling guests and still keep some of the goods we sold in the shop available for purchase. We hope that you find the cabin and property a place of peace and tranquility and will want to return. Whether passing through for a night or a few days stay, you’re always welcome in our neck of the woods. Weekend Trip to Quiet Creek Valley

This was a great experience. Went hit tent camping with a few inches of snow on the ground. The hosts were very polite. They cleared the snow off the sand on our site. We were the only ones out there, but each of the 3 or 4 sites is separated by enough Forest that you cannot see one from the other, so it really feels secluded, almost like dispersed camping. It’s right on the river which makes it very scenic. We will definitely be back

Teri and Mike have done a fantastic job here! Things are even better than expected from the online description and the welcome kit was a pleasant surprise. The sites are well laid out with plenty of privacy. Great star gazing here, and I saw deer several times. This was my first time camping here, but I hope to be back again next season.

Hunter's property is fantastic. It's private, it's along the Little Miami River, and it has tree coverage if camping during the summer. Hunter also took great care of us while we were staying for an extended weekend. 5 stars from our entire group. We will be back!

The site was quiet and conveniently located near many things to explore. We biked the Whitewater Canal Trail, hiked the trails at Shrader-Weaver Woods, and visited Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary. We also enjoyed an afternoon in Centerville, Indiana, exploring the 5 arches, browsing antiques, and grabbing food at the local restaurants.

Weekend Trip to Cabin and Tent Camping On The River

Fantastic location right on the river. Lots of privacy with no contact with others besides the host. The property is wooded with a hill behind you, and heavy forest left and right. The little Miami river is the other border. Plenty of space to park a couple vehicles, although you will want some room to turn around to get out. We setup a large 6-person tent near the river's edge. Two picnic tables are setup nearby, with a metal fire pit. The host has a huge pile of chopped wood for sale if you need more on demand. There is a very basic cabin also in the camping area that gives a bit of shelter if you want to camp but also have a normal bed, or camp with a backup plan if it starts raining. The outhouse was a really nice touch. Many camping locations needing a #2 option can get tricky, this handles all the stuff right there. Overall really happy how it all turned out. Fantastic spot that we will return to again.

The barn/bar is adorable and Richard was very friendly and helpful. Camping down the Ridgeline and along the dirt road seemed like it would not be my cup of tea, but in fact, it was very private and very spread apart. I would definitely camp there again! We enjoyed music both evenings and the food at the barn was delicious. I would love if they had a few more choices on the menu.

We have 2 small boys and brought our dog. We have a great time exploring the woods, fishing and making s'mores on the fire! Being so close to the lake was definitely convenient. The little cabin was great so we didn't need to set up the tent. We will book again.

My fiancé and I wanted to get out of the city for a relaxing camping trip, and this spot was perfect. This was my second visit, and once again, it didn’t disappoint. The site is nicely secluded — we had plenty of space and privacy, well away from the owner’s area — and it’s spacious enough to host a group. It’s also pet-friendly, which was great for our puppy. The outhouse and cabin are exceptionally clean and well-maintained, which really adds to the experience. There’s convenient water access throughout the site, several fire pits, and multiple picnic tables. Firewood was available on a burn-as-you-buy basis, easily payable through Venmo, which was super convenient. The host was quick to respond when a kitten wandered into our campsite late at night — turns out it was their new camp cat! During the night, we could hear what sounded like coyotes or farm dogs across the water, but we still felt completely safe. Because of the great water access, some areas can get a bit muddy, but that’s to be expected with such a natural setting. Overall, we loved our stay and plan to return many more times.
