Located on the historic Ohio-Erie Canal between the village of Bolivar Ballparks and the McDonnell trailheads on the towpath trail ten miles south of Canton, Ohio, and 1.5 miles west of I-77 exit 93 on Scenic Byway Rt 212 in beautiful Tuscarawas County, Ohio.
The Peace Park is designed for bikers, hikers, dog walkers, and anyone traveling through to book a campsite even if anyone isn't available to meet and greet. Campers, once booked may go to an available campsite and set up camp.
Dog-friendly, handicapped-accessible Porta-Jon with hand sanitizer, shared electricity for charging phones, pristine aquifer water, picnic tables, fire pits, fire-side benches, birds, butterflies, lightning bugs, wild turkeys, deer, and other wildlife are often seen.
Please note: We're located on a section of the Ohio-Erie Canal Scenic Byway, the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad, and at a 90-degree corner with a slight slope that causes trucks to downshift and brake. If you're a light sleeper, we recommend bringing earplugs! We now offer disposable, individually packaged earplugs in our Porta-Jon.

I started this 2 acre homestead earlier this year. It is home to myself, my three dogs, a couple ducks, turkeys, and a crap ton of chickens. I’m very close to all the creature comforts like Walmart and Target, but the property is wooded on three sides so you feel like you’ve gotten away from the city. There is a small creek my dogs love to play in and a large field for frisbee and star gazing. There are hikes close by at Little Turtle Pond and many restaurants within 10 minutes like Woodys, NauitiVine and Magic City Brewery. If you enjoy boating Nimistila Reservoir (electric only very kayak friendly) and Portage Lakes are a quick 12 minute drive. I look forward to meeting you soon!

Accommodations include a small one-room cabin nestled on a little pond a stone's throw from the main house and veteran program area. The cabin has electricity, a microwave, small refrigerator, tv, futon, heating and cooling; however, it does not have plumbing. Nearby is an outhouse with electricity and a water pump fed from well water. There is a firepit for cooking and picnic tables available. There is also a flat space for tent camping right beside the cabin area. The outhouse and firepit are shared between the cabin and tent campers. If you prefer a more secluded experience, please book both sites. There is space for an RV in the driveway next to the woods with electric hookup and access to the outhouse, water pump, and firepit.
While this is a working ranch with farm animals, our aim is to create a peaceful relaxing environment in order to unwind and enjoy the creation around us. Going in the pastures with horses while unaccompanied by the owners is prohibited; however, it can be arranged for you to meet and interact with the mustangs if interested. There are other farm animals including a sheep, a goat, pigs, donkeys, peacocks, turkeys, chickens, ducks and barn cats on the premises. If you want a quaint country escape complete with farm sounds, this is the spot for you!

Some of the reviews are overly critical of Matt's camping area. The campgrounds are easy to get to, with improved gravel roads. The road leading to his land is mostly paved, but only one way. The 4x4 camp sites are well marked. I had no issue getting my pop-up camper in and out from one of the close to the road spaces. Kermit's bottom did require 4x4 when climbing the gravel hill. He clearly states this many times in the listing.
All of that being said, the campground is peaceful, serene, and very colorful during the fall. Firewood is provided for a small fee, as well as a fire ring and picnic table. Close to town as well - you can get whatever you need within 10 minutes. Currently there are outdoor showers and a porta potty. I will definitely come back, and I'm sure it will only be a better experience.

It’s an awesome little camp ground! Nice swim/fishing pond, an outlet to charge a phone, outdoor showers with a propane water heater, firewood available and a porta potty. The property was really pretty! Walked the creek bed to see some cool rock formations, bunch of wildlife and had owls hooting to wake us up both mornings. 2nd time there now, I will visit again! I walked past the cabins while I was there also, definitely want to rent one of those, they look really nice.

Camping at this site was great. The views are nice and you could see the stars clearly. Sheila was so nice and left us plenty of firewood to keep us warm as the night rolled in. I definitely recommend this site.

It is a beautiful and peaceful place to camp. There are a number of sites to choose from; in the woods or out in the open on grass. The only truly level place is on the grass near the road in so it is not an ideal camping spot for larger pull trailers or RVs. My camper is only 13' so it was just small enough. To my surprise there are a few power hookups and a water hydrant. Also, the owner has provided a port-a-potty and an outdoor shower with an on-demand water heater! He also provides firewood for a reasonable price. If you are a star gazer, there are clear views of the sky with no light pollution. If you like primitive camping with some amenities this is your place. I would definitely stay again.

Our stay was perfect, the site is beautiful and well kept and the host was very welcoming and kind to our two boys. She showed us all their animals and told us their backstories and even let our oldest help feed the chickens. She provided snacks for the horses which we were able to feed whenever we wanted. They come right up to the tent site and the cabin. We felt very safe and it was easy to find when driving in. Each animal we interacted with was good, the turkey will climb on your shoulder and the cats will sit on you by the fire. We are very happy and plan to come back again!
If you want a more private stay I would recommend booking both the tent site and the cabin if possible. The out house and fire pit are communal so if you don’t you’ll end up getting cozy with some strangers.

This is a beautiful spot! I appreciated the diversity of site areas, in the grass under the sun or under trees, and the warm outdoor shower was a great amenity.
My only difficulty was getting there by bike. It's a tough climb no matter which way you go. I followed directions on the website to take the paved road on the way there from the OTET trail, which is steep with some blind turns. It felt unsafe given my slow speed and fast drivers, but maybe it was just the time of day. I chose to hike my bike down the gravel road (TWP 102) back to the trail the next morning since I wasn't confident my brakes could handle the descent with a fully loaded bike and didn't want to walk on the busier road. I would probably take the gravel road up if I had to do it again.

This was a great place to stay, especially if you are looking to explore Berlin or Millersburg. The sites were nicely secluded and every site had a fire pit and picnic table. It's helpful to arrive in the daylight for first timers so that you find the right sites. Regular camping is a left right after registration. Cabins and the group sites are farther down the hill. A beautiful place to stay and we'd happily come back.

Awesome, peaceful scenery! This spot has a real charm to it,:and as soon as you cross that Red, Metal bridge...it's like your in another world altogether. If you need to get away and clear your head, this is definitely your place!
Firewood was provided all over the grounds which was a pleasant bonus as well..😉

Absolutely beautiful property! We stayed a week and I sure wish we had a few more days. Yes its rough getting there, but it's possible. Those reviews are the reason we had to come here. We love back roads and seclusion. I cant wait to go back. Never met the host but he was busy improving his property. Thank you so much for a week to remember!

This was our first time to camp here yes it's a little tretchiurois getting back to the site but if you take your it's not that bad it was very peaceful and we really enjoyed ourselves we will definitely stay here again when we're in the area

What a great spot! We didn’t originally anticipate stopping in Akron, but wanted to spend a day at CVNP, so when we found Blackberry Campsite we decided to camp there for a couple nights. It’s a great lil wooded area right in town, you can’t beat the location for convenience and it was as quiet as if you’re deep in the woods. Hannah was an excellent host and responded immediately with anything we needed. Saving this location!

Matt's land is beautiful, tucked away along a narrow, tree-tunneled road that suddenly opens onto his hills and pond. The campsites are sheltered in the woods, and there's plenty to explore. The kids had a great time exploring a dry creek bed and seeing the cows!

We stopped in for a short stay at one of the primitive campsites. Perfect for our purposes. We drove in right to the site. Nice fire pit and picnic table and plenty of space. The primitive spots are very similar to state sites, as the other spots are close, but there's plenty of space and trees in between for privacy. We were only there for getting some zzzs on the road, so we weren't around long. But, again, great for our purposes (and for our dog's).

I stayed for 1 night while I was fishing in the area. Nice farm and nice host. The spot for RVs is flat and easy to get to. She showed me where everything is on the property and supplied me with some wood for a fire. I will stay here again if I’m in the area.

Perfect campsites with lots of privacy! The showers were very nice and the water was very warm. The road to the sites definitely requires 4wd but is easy to navigate. We would love to go back in the future!
