Secluded campground at Moonville Rail Trail in Zalesky State Forest.

3 nights at Butterfly Valley at Zaleski

I booked this spot for myself and a few family members and WOW WHAT A PLACE! The site is perfect and wild, yet well cared for. Paths were mowed so we could explore the land, the creek was full and I got my new paddle board out to play, there is a shaded area in the back where my sister set up her tent and we even used a tree swing hook to make a tree swing with a hammock. Even with some rain and wind, we had so much fun and will be back. This is a family favorite for sure.

1 night at Tenderfoot Learning Lab

Amazing camp site! This was our second time here and won’t be the last. It was our first time exploring the trails. The land is absolutely beautiful and magical and an explorer’s paradise. I highly recommend!

3 nights at Hilltop Getaway

We loved our campsite at Andy's place. We had a very spacious site with plenty of room for a large tent and a massive fire ring. Excellent firewood was provided free of charge. Our host Andy was very nice and accomodating. He even made sure we had a nice outdoor toilet! We were the only campers at his site which was another plus. It is a great campsite and I would highly recommend it for tent campers.

Weekend Trip to Tenderfoot Learning Lab

Excellent campsite near Athens and Lake Hope State Park. It was great chatting with Travis and learning about what they did at Tenderfoot. There are two sites on the property and we stayed at the larger one, called Deciduous Downtime. It was a short downhill walk from the parking area to the site. The site itself is surrounded by the woods and very peaceful. You don’t really see the house at all from there. One thing to point out though is the ground is not completely level across the site. We didn’t find it to be a deal breaker though. We had enough room for two tents and a big shelter that we could put over the picnic table. Note there is just one tent pad. The outhouse is clean and well kept and there’s lots of trails on the property to explore. We'd highly recommend staying here!

Weekend Trip to Butterfly Valley at Zaleski

Went off season, a great spot to backpack at the nearby trails and a nice clean and spacious area with hookup. Clearly marked and firewood available. It was a weekend and trails were busy Saturday. Zero cell service until about 2 miles away off the main road. Very little noise pollution and peaceful with lots of birds to see even in November. All friendly neighbors, backpackers, trail riders and locals. Would love to come back in the Spring, host was great very quick to reply

(easy access from 33 and to Logan) There are various places around the property to pitch a tent. There are also options for RV parking with no hookups. I can transport you and your gear to the remote sites. ATV's are also welcome on the property. Firewood will be provided for free and in abundant amount. The site on top of the hill is a very secluded and mowed crest of hill surrounded by dogwood trees and the invasive Autumn Olive bushes. The site above the rxrwinery.com is a secluded, mowed clearing in the mature woods. There are also 2 sites in the valley that allow you to be near your vehicle. While on my property, clothing is optional. If you are traveling with an RV, the Sunny Rest location is the best with campfire. This is a valley and may get soft after heavy rain. Please keep wheels near the lane if there's any question to the ground conditions and maneuvering your vehicle, please contact me.

We chose the name Cherokee Valley to honor my heritage and the gift of this farm by my grandmother and mother. We created this tipi experience to share that gift with you! Enjoy a night in our spacious 22 foot tipi. We provide a comfortable queen platform bed for your convenience. You must provide sleeping bags, linens , blankets etc. The tipi can sleep up to 6 people, 2 on the queen bed we provide, with ample room for additional cots or air mattresses that you provide.
