Also on the property is a 16x20 camping/activities platform for your enjoyment. We are one of Ohio's only openly clothing optional and naturist friendly rentals. You of course do not have to be naked during your visit, but it is a safe place to explore the naturist lifestyle if you've ever been curious! We're located about 25 minutes south of Athens, Ohio and are within 30 minutes of some of the best hiking in the state. To access the queen bed in the loft, you will need to be able to assemble and hang up a ~40 wooden ladder to the loft. There is no outdoor lighting, so if you plan to arrive after dark, bring a bright flashlight or head lamp as you will not be able to see anything. Purchased in 2019, these overgrown acres are now a federally registered Farm with the crop being Trees, and have a 10 year Woodland Stewardship Management Plan with the Ohio Dept of Natural Resources. I will be working hard over the years to bring this back to a healthy stand of mixed hardwoods, full of wildlife habitat, and native vegetation. 2024 saw the start of our EQIP contract which includes killing the non-native invasives, like Tree of Heaven, Autumn Olive, Honeysuckle, and more. 2025 was planting, staking, and tubing of 800 tree seedlings, including Black Walnut, Red Oak, Scarlet Oak, Sugar Maple, Persimmon, and Tulip Poplar. Learn more about this land: Enjoy approximately 10 wooded acres while being the only campers on site. Provided are a 4x8 lean-to, outhouse, fire ring, and a spool table. Hiking trails are cut throughout the woods, so feel free to explore. Just stay within the wire fence lines to avoid crossing onto neighboring private lands. The pond is off limits for liability reasons. This is a Federal and State managed Woodland, so please do no harm to any living tree or plant. Feel free to pick up any dead wood for use in the fire ring. (Cut Firewood also provided for free at campsite.) You do have to hike in and out between parking area and campsite. It's about 500 feet from parking to campsite. Mostly level, with one short incline. 10 minutes from The Wilds. 10 minutes from I-70. 15 minutes from I-77 and Cambridge.

Beautiful property up a little mountain, they are working on getting power and water setup and the area is very much still a work in progress but it's getting there, very few neighbors and your on the edge of a ridge with great views. The family is very kind and even ran an extension cord out for us to have power, it let us put up our outdoor lights and made for an awesome extended weekend. Your close to all the awesome caves and falls. Highly recommend!

Fantastic last minute stay. I needed a place quickly and Bill was communicative and accommodating. The location was easy to find; parking was below their main building and camp was maybe 150 feet from there down a path/lane. Very easy access, but be prepared to haul stuff a little way to the camp. The actual campsite is fantastic. It’s very private, situated very nicely on a clearing surrounded by a heavily wooded area, a three sided shelter, fire pit, and latrine. There are a few short trails down over the hill. I heard coyotes and barred owls all night. Very lovely experience.

Great campsite! This was a perfect first camping experience for my dog. We were nervous to take her to a larger campground with other dogs and people nearby. She did great without the distraction of others! Bonus points to Bill for the large stock of very dry firewood!

We really enjoyed our stay at this peaceful Hipcamp. The hiking trails on the property were a major bonus. It was quiet, scenic, and perfect for exploring with our dogs. We also appreciated being just a short drive from nearby state parks for even more outdoor adventures. My husband and I left feeling refreshed and would definitely recommend this spot for a calm, dog-friendly getaway in nature.

The directions were well written and arriving went smoothly. The site was as described and felt very secluded. My dogs can be people reactive so I am always looking for private camping areas and this fit the bill. I have never felt more carefree to let them explore and enjoy themselves. My pups recalls are great but for others wondering, your dogs recall must be really good because most of the hiking trails are along a single wire fence with posted signs so a dog can easily walk under them without ever knowing they have crossed a boundary. The site has quite a few small hills, two small footbridges and a small creek that runs throught it. I have never seen my kids and dogs so relaxed, exhausted and happy. A fair warning during my visit there were torrential downpours and the hill down into the site is pretty steep which created a LOT of mud. The owner laid down rock and straw prior to my arrival to help with the mud which was SUPER helpful. All in all this site was phenomenal and I hope to visit again!!

We had the entire place to ourselves. Bill gave great directions to the spot and the signage was helpful. We had a wagon to carry our camp gear down and back up to the car which was super helpful since the site is a short hike into the wooded area. It was peaceful. We had no service - which is exactly what we wanted! Super grateful for the outhouse, firewood, and the amount of care put into the property!

Incredible spot! Thank you Bill! We camped on a rainy weekend and I’m so glad we picked this hipcamp. We appreciated the out house and lean to. There’s some nice trails to walk on his property. Shockingly we didn’t pick up any ticks so that was really nice. We heard owls and cows in the morning. Despite the wet conditions we stayed dry and had a wonderful time!

This campsite is beautifully situated on an active Amish farm in Chesterhill, Ohio. There’s a fire pit and outhouse for your use. There are no hookup’s, but you can bring your off grid camper or tents. Emanuel and Lilly operate a stunning 60+ acre farm, wood shop, gardens, and chicken coop. Both are wonderful people and always a pleasure to just sit back and have a nice leisurely chat. They belong to a traditional Amish group, so there isn't electricity on site. There are special booking guidelines because the family does not have telephone, however, someone is generally available at the farm house. Once you set up on site Emanuel will stop down to say hello and make sure your settled in just fine. My name is Chad. I am helping the family with bookings because they do not use the internet or any electronic devices. I am available by cell phone to make sure your stay is perfect.

RV Owners PLEASE READ to the end for directions. We are a private campground and wedding venue in the heart of Hocking County. We are located 9 miles from Laurelville, 16.4 miles from Logan, 17 miles from Lancaster, 19 miles from Circleville, where stores and dinning are abundant and easily accessible. The property is full of wildlife and magnificent views and rainbows galore, with minimal light pollution, our night sky's are spectacular. We are within a 30 minutes drive of all of Hocking Hills State Parks, Nature preserves and so much more. Hocking Hills features beautiful towering cliffs, thrilling waterfalls, and deep, hemlock-shaded gorges. With stunning ice formations in winter, wildflowers adorning the forest floor in springtime and vivid foliage in the fall, hikers and nature lovers have plenty to enjoy in this awe-inspiring area. Other local activities include, rock climbing, ziplining, ATV/UTV Rentals and tours, along with Canoe/Kayaking on the hocking river, horseback riding and so much more. Southern Ohio offers some amazing roads for motorcycle rides, including the Hocking Hills Scenic Byway, The Windy 9, The Triple Nickel and Three Rivers . Please message me on the morning of your stay with an ETA so I can make sure I'm here to great you. RVers if you are coming in from US Rte 33 please use Buena Vista Rd. Buena Vista Rd is one exit after Oppossum Hollow if you are heading East on 33 and also one exit pass 374 if you are heading West on 33. GPS will usually route you onto Oppossum Hollow Rd or State Rte 374. The State Rte 374 route will have you turn onto Oppossum Hollow. Oppossum Hollow road is a one lane unlined rd and is not the best for RVs. Taking Buena Vista Rd will only add about a mile and a few minutes to your trip. Be advised Buena Vista is a very curvey road but is traveled by large vehicles all the time. Just take it slow and you will be fine. We have a dully truck and 45 ft rig that we bring in and out just fine. If you are coming in from the South (Chillicothe area.) From State Rte 180, please take Jack Run Rd. This is also a paved two lane road. All other roads in the area are single lane rds and are not the best for RVs (don't use Middlefork, Long Run, Stump Run, or Clapper Hollow off of State Rte 180). A toilet and solar shower are located at the center of the property. An outdoor water spigot is also available. Guests are expected to follow the "Leave No Trace" principles. Any trash packed onto the property must be bagged and taken with you.

Visiting the Hocking Hills ? No interest in crowded campgrounds ? you have found 75 acres mostly wooded with trails right at the start of the Hocking Hills. (easy access from 33 and to Logan) There are various places around the property to pitch a tent. There are also options for RV parking with no hookups as well as a site with 30/50 amp. I can transport you and your gear to the remote sites. ATV's are also welcome on the property. Firewood will be provided for free and in abundant amount. The site on top of the hill is a very secluded and mowed crest of hill surrounded by dogwood trees and the invasive Autumn Olive bushes. The site above the rxrwinery.com is a secluded, mowed clearing in the mature woods. There are also 2 sites in the valley that allow you to be near your vehicle. While on my property, clothing is optional but respect for other campers is expected. If you are traveling with an RV, the Sunny Rest location is the best with campfire. This is a valley and may get soft after heavy rain. Please keep wheels near the lane if there's any question to the ground conditions and maneuvering your vehicle, please contact me. Apple product GPS will not get you to this location, use the pin on Google Maps.

Located in the rolling Appalachian hills of Southeast Ohio. This farm has been in our family since 1869 when our relatives settled here from Germany. Originally farmed for cattle and sheep with many orchards over the years our property is now mostly mature forest. Southeast Ohio, including our property is known for its hilly topography and microclimates. Hills range from 400 to 1,100 feet. Nearly 500 acres of land with an additional 200+ acres of Wayne National Forest adjacent to our farm and close proximity to other Wayne areas for outdoor activities. We have nearly 10 miles of available trails for hiking. Many activities can be done at or centered around our property. Such as excellent and challenging road biking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking, fishing, kayaking and boating. We are two miles from the Little Muskingum River. A great river for kayak trips. The Wayne Kinderhook horse and hiking trail is roughly 5 miles from our location. Hike to the Irish Run Natural Land bridge trail also a short drive to the trailhead from our property. Ride your motorcycle up Rt. 26 a great Ohio byway for scenic driving. This is also a great home base for dual sport or adventure bike motorcycle riders to camp while adventuring along gravel roads through Appalachia. If motorcycles aren't your method of entertainment and travel. Bring your horse and ride on several of our trails. From steep ascents to long flat ridge lines, you will have lots of time to immerse yourself with nature while hiking. We're next to a section of the Wayne National Forest and a short drive to other similar Wayne activity sites. If you like to camp, but don't want the busy public park experience then you will enjoy the privacy of our camping location. We are also only about a 20-minute drive to downtown Marietta.
