McKee Farm is rich in memories and rich in history. It has been in the family for over 150 years and we were told that it was one of stopping points for the underground railroad. The 240 acre farm boasts a hidden cave, wide open fields, breathtaking forest land, and historic and rustic barns.

Oxley in the Woods is our newest treehouse cabin. Nestled in the woods with a view of the sunset, the lovely A Frame is filled with lovely woodwork, vintage parquet flooring, and private wooded views. The deck is huge! We've had guests set up a tent on the deck beside the treehouse for fun! Swings, and a slide make the Oxley a fun adventure. The double bed in the loft and the two stacked single beds are comfortable and cozy.
The McKee Farmhouse was built in the 1800s and is rich in memories. It's a rustic old house, with wood trim, hardwood floors, and plenty of imperfections that make it unique. You can sit on the porch and drink your coffee with a view of the barn and pastures, or cozy up in one of the house's four bedrooms and sleep in. The house is fully air conditioned and heated, has all the amenities of home, but takes you back to a simpler time.
Our campsites are all set apart from one another in various locations on the 240 acre farm. Secluded and unique, each campsite has its own charm. We provide guests with a fire ring and a shovel, and some sites have a picnic table.
Hiking trails are marked throughout the land. Guests can hike with views of horses, cows, wildlife, corn fields, large boulders, and rustic barns. The dirt roads provide great places to drive ATVs and four-wheelers. An Amish farm borders McKee Farm. Guests should know there is minimal cell service, however, this can offer a great opportunity to unplug. Tullihas in the Trees provides a perfect remote and rustic getaway for anyone.

Glamping Cabins
We have two glamping cabins that include beds and lanterns so you get the feel of sleeping in nature but comfortably. Each cabin has a picnic table, fire pit, and charcoal grill. One cabin has a queen-size bed and the second has a full-size bed and a trundle bed with 2 twin-size mattresses. The cabins do not have electric or water. A porta-potty is located near the barn (a 5 minute walk) and a lug-able loo or portapotty will be available closer to the cabins depending on when you stay.
We are happy to help get your gear back to the cabins with the farm cart and then it is an 8-minute walk along a hay pasture to the parking area.
Tent Camping
Our tent camping spots are located under Mother Oak, a 100-year-old oak tree in the middle of our farm. With ample shade, a fire pit, and nearby portapotty, you can relax under the stars into the night.
Hiking trails weave through the back of the property and you are welcome to explore those as well.
Because we are a working homestead and farm, a few things are true:
-Sometimes there’s mud. We suggest boots for walking around the property and in the woods.
-Our farm animals are great - and may also bite. Please do not pet or chase them. We are happy to arrange opportunities to interact with the animals. Just ask!
-Not always, but at times, our neighbors will start farming early in the morning and you can hear their machinery.
All of our sites have privacy but are not truly remote. We want you to enjoy yourselves but please be mindful that our house is on the property as well as our neighbors. Music needs to be turned down to a low level by 11 PM.
We can accommodate pop-up campers, camper vans, etc near Mother Oak as well. Please message with any questions before reserving. Additional fees would apply.
We can also accommodate larger tent camping groups depending on the day. Additional fees would apply.
The homestead is located near 58 so you can hear cars during the day and night. The cabins are about a ½ mile from the road so the noise is greatly reduced.
We regularly host modern homesteading workshops, full moon yoga, and sound baths at the farm. If you would like to inquire about booking one of these as an add-on to your stay, please message us!
Conveniently located 1 mile from Oberlin College, 6 minutes from the turnpike (I-80), and 35 minutes from Cleveland, Heartland Homestead is like stepping away from the hustle of everyday life and into nature. The primitive campground is in the corner of a small 40 acre farm owned by Matt Polcyn. He started the campground 8 years ago because of his love for nature and real camping. Nestled within the 10-acre organic farm that hosts Earthsong Farm and Discovery Park is an authentic American Indian tipi camping experience. An extra large party tipi ("Great Gatherings") is available for larger groups as a daytime rental or for overnight stays (up to 18 people). This tipi is on a woodchip base for a more primitive authentic experience and has optional cots and chairs for your use.
In the fenced Tipi Village compound area there is a large Tipi on a wooden deck, a small play tipi for kids. The Tipi is adorned with native American Indian decor and furnished with one queen size bed, bedside table and camp chair. Optional cots available, offering sleep accommodations for a total of 5 -6 people.
Tipi Village is equipped with a shared outdoor kitchen and dining area, including a gas barbeque grill and fresh spring water. There is also an instant-heat outdoor shower available. Two gas stations within a 5 minute driving distance offer ice refills for your cooler and quick snacks, Miller's Grocery is in Lodi (5 mins) and Medina is just up the road (15 mins).
For the Tourist: Medina Town Square is adorned with tiny shops and boutiques. You can also find Castle Noel, a Christmas museum displaying paraphernalia from popular Christmas films throughout time. Two Farmer's Markets are active from May 1st- September in Medina on Saturday mornings from 9am-1pm. Nearby Litchfield offers an outdoor Flea Market (about 15 min. drive). Cleveland is 45 minutes away with the rock-n-roll museum, science center, botanical gardens and much more. Amish country is 45 minutes South with many attractions, stores and restaurants. There is a large assemblage of old order Amish just 10 minutes west with many farm produce stands. Dragway 42 is also just 10 minutes SW near West Salem. Glamping Cabins
We have two glamping cabins that include beds and lanterns so you get the feel of sleeping in nature but comfortably. Each cabin has a picnic table, fire pit, and charcoal grill. One cabin has a queen-size bed and the second has a full-size bed and a trundle bed with 2 twin-size mattresses. The cabins do not have electric or water. A porta-potty is located near the barn (a 5 minute walk) and a lug-able loo or portapotty will be available closer to the cabins depending on when you stay.
We are happy to help get your gear back to the cabins with the farm cart and then it is an 8-minute walk along a hay pasture to the parking area.
Tent Camping
Our tent camping spots are located under Mother Oak, a 100-year-old oak tree in the middle of our farm. With ample shade, a fire pit, and nearby portapotty, you can relax under the stars into the night.
Hiking trails weave through the back of the property and you are welcome to explore those as well.
Because we are a working homestead and farm, a few things are true:
-Sometimes there’s mud. We suggest boots for walking around the property and in the woods.
-Our farm animals are great - and may also bite. Please do not pet or chase them. We are happy to arrange opportunities to interact with the animals. Just ask!
-Not always, but at times, our neighbors will start farming early in the morning and you can hear their machinery.
All of our sites have privacy but are not truly remote. We want you to enjoy yourselves but please be mindful that our house is on the property as well as our neighbors. Music needs to be turned down to a low level by 11 PM.
We can accommodate pop-up campers, camper vans, etc near Mother Oak as well. Please message with any questions before reserving. Additional fees would apply.
We can also accommodate larger tent camping groups depending on the day. Additional fees would apply.
The homestead is located near 58 so you can hear cars during the day and night. The cabins are about a ½ mile from the road so the noise is greatly reduced.
We regularly host modern homesteading workshops, full moon yoga, and sound baths at the farm. If you would like to inquire about booking one of these as an add-on to your stay, please message us!
Conveniently located 1 mile from Oberlin College, 6 minutes from the turnpike (I-80), and 35 minutes from Cleveland, Heartland Homestead is like stepping away from the hustle of everyday life and into nature. Rural enough to feel like you've gotten away from suburbia but close enough for DoorDash, last-minute store runs, + all the yummy restaurants in Oberlin, we hope you enjoy stepping into our modern homestead as much as we enjoy hosting you!

What a great place. So much to explore. I enjoyed it greatly.
The cabin is cozy, and there are acres of privacy; the scenary is beautiful. There is plenty of space inside the cabin for people to walk around, get comfy, and eat a hearty meal. The upstairs has 2 beds that are at queen-sized. There are plenty of books and DVD movies, a wall-mounted TV, 2 big sofas (3 seat and 2 seat), a massive bean bag, and a dining table. The restroom includes a toilet, sink, bathtub shower, and a washer and dryer. The kitchen has a mini fridge with a freezer, dual sink, microwave, gas stove, coffee maker, toaster, and plenty of pots, pans, and dishware. There is plenty of heat to keep you warm in the wintertime. The place is very clean - vacuums included.
Wi-fi and cell phone signals are not really accessable at the United Cabin but they are at the host's home property, which is a 3 min drive away.
Nearby, there is a small pond, a cornfield, plenty of hills, and forests with trails.

Weekend Trip to Ashcraft Hills
We stayed at the A-frame this past weekend and absolutely loved it! The place was super clean and had literally everything we needed (we definitely overpacked 😅). There was plenty of firewood for us, which made hanging out by the fire so nice.
PJ was awesome — super friendly, available if you need anything, and honestly willing to go the extra mile to make sure your stay is perfect. When we arrived, a few lights weren’t working, and he was super concerned it might ruin our stay. He even offered to come fix them right away, but it really wasn’t an issue for us at all.
We also loved that we could bring our dogs! They had the best time running around off leash and exploring. Cell service isn’t great out there, but honestly, that was exactly what we needed — the perfect little disconnect.
This was our first time using the Hipcamp app, and it couldn’t have been a better experience. We’d 100% come back again!

I'll tell you, the pictures are great but they don't do justice to the peace and comfort this place brings.
When we arrived the camp host told us to ask for anything we needed, and they held true to that. The property has tons of places to hike. Everything around you is gorgeous. The beds are comfy, and the cabin is warm.
There's no wifi or cellular signal, which was a benefit in my opinion.

My kids and I had an absolute blast camping at Tullihas in the Trees! It's just as amazing as it looks in the pictures and so much more!
The beds were unquestionably comfy, the cabin very well appointed, and despite the freezing night temperatures, the little heater in the corner kept us toasty warm without a struggle.
My kidds loved the swings, I enjoyed the hammock quite a bit, and that was easily the nicest latrine I've seen in my 30+ years of camping.

The Oxley site is a really nice site to camp at. I know it's only a primitive cabin, but only just barely. It has so many comforts that I wasn't expecting, it felt pretty luxurious compared to what I thought it might be. No water, no electric. No problem. Honestly, you hardly notice that while you're there.
So many little but smart decision to implement something like reflective tape and solar lights on the stairs. Or, backup cookware and plateware in case you forgot yours. The camplights in the cabin and in the outhouse to use when needed. Even a little stove. So many little things that just add up to make the stay as nice as possible.
Beyond that, being back away from the road was nice. You don't feel secluded, but it certainly feels private. Being half way up a large hill, you'll want AWD or 4x4 to get up it, but it's location is nice because going further up the hill on foot gets you to a flat landing that we liked to sit at and watch the sunrise hit the hills around us.
It's a great place for a couple, small family, or a small group of people. Would definitely come here again.

Weekend Trip to Ashcraft Hills
This place is a gem! So cozy and private! Kitchen is stocked and great for cooking. The nature around the cabin is lovely, great spot on top of hill for sunset and moonrise! The host was very nice and accommodating. You can here some noise from road but there isn’t much traffic so it’s not bad. We had an amazing stay and will be returning!

United Cabin was so cozy, and the land was really fun to explore. The hosts are extremely friendly and welcoming, which helped us feel comfortable and right at home! The cabin was stocked with all the essentials for cooking and comfortable sleep.
