Both domes can be booked individually or together (please see my other listings in my profile for availability). My goal is always to maximize privacy and I’ve worked hard to create guest seclusion and minimize visibility from the other dome. With that, the domes are separated by 150 feet but are connected via a staircase that has been built into the mountain. If another couple is staying in the other dome during your stay, it is likely that you may hear them during your stay. Finally, our ideal location and close proximity to Blowing Rock is a direct result of our proximity to NC 321. Guests should be aware that they may hear road noise. STEEP MOUNTAIN DRIVEWAY: Please note that the driveway to the TreePod is a mountain road that is ONLY accessible by AWD or 4x4. If you are not comfortable driving on gravel mountain roads, or do not have a 4x4 or AWD, you’re welcome to park at a dedicated space at the top of the driveway and take a 450’ hike to the dome. WINTER WEATHER: In the event of a winter weather during your stay you will be required to park at the top of the driveway regardless of what type of vehicle you arrive in. This does involve a short 350’ walk from that location to the GeoDome door. In general snow fall is light and usually melts the next day. HEATING/COOLING: The Treepod includes both heating and cooling as well as several space heaters and electric blankets. Tri Mountain View Campground is located in the Northeast corner of Tennessee in the town of Shady Valley. With an elevation of 2,800 feet, Shady Valley is the second highest town in Tennessee. It is just 26 miles from the Bristol Raceway and the Bristol Caverns. It is just a 15 minute drive to Backbone rock and a short drive to the Appalachian Trail. The property was a Dairy Farm and went out of business in the late 90’s and since then there has been over 3,000 trees planted. Some of these trees include the rare Butternut and Hazelnut, but mostly White Pine, Walnut and Oaks. The property has approximately 1,000 feet of fishing on Beaver dam creek, so we recommend bringing waders. There is also a shower house, washer and dryer.

Before the Kerr Scott Reservoir was built, in the 40's and 50's, this neighborhood was a local swimming hole and vacation area. Public buses came from neighboring communities so people could boat, swim, camp, and picnic. While we don't have access to the pond, our part of this land still is calling out to people, 'Come, rest, unload your burdens, and find peace.' When we started this project with Hipcamp, we didn't fully realize that we were reconnecting with the history on this property. So, come, take your shoes off, and wade in the creek. Read a book while laying in a hammock. Sit by the fire and chat with family and friends. Come and participate in our little homesteading project, and leave your burdens behind. LOCAL ACTIVITIES: To the west is the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is 30 minutes away. 15 minutes away is Kerr Scott Dam where you can rent kayaks, pontoon boats, as well as other sporting equipment. Fish, go mountain biking on the extensive trails, and hiking. Prayer Mountain is right up the road, about 2 miles away. Heading east, you can find several fine wineries andvineyards that you can visit. There is also a moonshine distillery in town. About a half hour away is an Amish community that has several businesses open to the public, including the Shiloh Bakery and General Store. They are closed on Sunday and Monday. To the northeast, about 45 minutes away, is Stone Mountain. Absolutely fantastic hiking, it is also an old homestead that has been renovated and is open to the public. To the south, there is Rocky Face Park, where there is hiking and rock climbing. Nearby, is Emerald Hollow Mine, where you can go and find, and keep, precious stones you find in the nearby river. There is also a great disk course course, Highland Hills Disc Golf Course, one of the top 25 in the country. There is fun for all ages. Merlefest, the last weekend of April, is a world class Bluegrass festival, is located right in our town. Be sure to look at the activities section below for additional information.

Super unique little yurt camp out in the NC Blue Ridge. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an easy glamping experience that's a very affordable way to stay in the area really nearby Little Switzerland, Linville, Grandfather mountain, etc..The property itself still feels remote as it is situated on the side of a nearby mountain. That being said, be prepared to drive carefully on the property, especially if you have a smaller car, as the drive is a bit rugged. Very doable even in our little hybrid 2 seater, but take your time in inclement weather (even in early December, we still had a lovely time, and enjoyed the tranquility). Would totally return if we come back through the area!

We traveled as a family of 4 and two dogs and we had a wonderful time at Ocean Blue cabin. Exceptional host and cabin was amazing. We had everything and more to has such a great time. Hiking trail on the property was perfect for our young kids. We took it twice and met friendly cows on top of the hill. Hot tub was a perfect spot for after hike and evening watching the stars! We will definitely come back and bring friends with us!

The Artist Studio was the perfect spot to stay on a solo road trip from Eastern Virginia to Nashville. The property was stunning and the studio was clean & cozy. Outstanding location 10 min from downtown Johnson City. The host, Pat, left delicious baked goods in the fridge of the studio. My highlight of the stay was enjoying a fresh baked good & coffee in the sun room overlooking the pond. Highly recommend!

My family and I loved this glamping experience! The yurt was spacious and cozy, and the beds were super comfortable and it was easy to find/navigate to. The space had all the amenities and supplies you need on site, which made packing a breeze. We enjoyed sitting around the fire and stargazing, the mountain views from the deck, and playing the games provided. Would definitely recommend this experience!

Blair was an exceptional host. He takes great care of his guests and responded to things very promptly. He brought up a second solar generator for us because the first wasn't fully charged and got us tiki torch oil when we needed it. The property is beautiful and I definitely plan on going back. The hilltop safari tent is a great spot and I highly recommend it. The tent was in immaculate shape and ready for us to have a great weekend.

My wife and I loved staying in the Green cabin. The fire pit and hot tub were the best. The cabin was great. The bed was comfortable. The shower had good hot water. The first night we made steaks over a campfire with baked potatoes from the air fryer. The second night we made hot dogs and roasted marshmallows on the campfire. It was a beautiful drive from Knoxville. It was about as close to perfect as you can get. Thank you for the firewood, and thank you for having us.

We loved our visit and will very likely return! The safari tent was exactly as described, and it made for an easy and relaxing overnight after a big hiking day. Really enjoyed the creekside spot, winding-down around the fire-pit and the Adirondack chairs on the deck. Other campers were around but were no bother. The peaceful sound of the creek reduced any noise, plus wooden dividers around sites increased privacy. Thank you Blair for hosting us!
