Pull down a paved road and get out of your car and sit down at a picnic table in front of a private waterfall!
This site has a pull through, full hookup spot with 30amp for campers but tents are always welcome or a combination of the two. I've had a 33' camper, popup camper and 6 tents at this campsite all at the same time so there plenty of room for your family and friends!
We're 2.5 miles from the Cherokee Casino and 3.5 miles from down town Cherokee
If you're tired of crowded campgrounds then you'll love the privacy this campground offers. This is now a two site campground with each site being around 100' away from the other site with trees and vegetation growing in between, you more or less cant see on site from the other from May until November.
There is a orange cone that marks the border of the two sites. One set of campers will not be allowed on the other campers campsite, if this happens you will be evicted with no refund.
Check in is at 2pm and check out is at 12pm.
No shooting firearms, (although you may hear people shooting firearms because you will be camping in the mountains) but your more than welcome to bring your firearms. Its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
No fireworks.
No making trails or collecting firewood (This is not because I want to sell you firewood, its because I want to have the property remain as pristine as possible)
Do not cut down trees alive or dead
If you move picnic tables please move them back
Dogs are permitted but message me first to see if your do will be a good fit.
There is a small Church around 200 yards from the campground. They hold services every Wednesday and Sunday. They generally start around 5pm and it lasts around a hour. If your into that they would love to have you come down.
The EBCI opened a dispensary around 3 miles from the campground. It will open to all adults over 21 starting September 7th 2024.

Private end of road property in the Cowee Valley of Franklin NC, which is the first resupply stop along the Appalachian Trail through the Smoky Mountains. Cowee Valley is a gorgeous scenic valley with farmland and winding roads and mountains on all sides. Cowee Campground has newly been made into a campground, previously undeveloped. We have left most of it undisturbed to maintain the natural and peaceful nature vibes. This land is a short distance off the main roads and small/private. All tent sites are in the shaded forest and RV hookups are just a few steps away with hardwoods filling out and providing partial shade. It's a quiet area with the sounds of nature and leaves rustling. We hope you'll appreciate and enjoy the beauty and tranquility as much as we do. If you want to car/truck camp without hookups we have space for that too. Just let us know.
We have a beautiful 4 bathroom bathhouse, with ADA shower and another bathroom with clawfoot tub/shower and private back deck. 2 large firepits with Andirondack chairs and a separate picnic table and grill area. There is a large communal Yoga/Event deck and covered Bar/Hangout area beneath - hammock, bar top, darts and it's own firepit as well. Plus Corn hole and Horseshoe pits for your enjoyment.

WINTER BOOKINGS: Our driveway may be impassible during winter weather and we recommend snow tires, snow chains, and/or 4x4 during the winter months due to ice. We do shut down the running water during the winter to prevent the pipes from freezing. We will provide guests with 5 gallon drinking jugs with a dispenser to use, and the toilet still has water to flush. But the shower, sink, tub, hose, and bidet will be shut down during these months. If you want the true off-grid experience this is it ;)
We do require guests to e-sign our rental agreement that we will email to you, and request a $300 security deposit hold (not a charge) that we will release upon checkout. This is just a precaution for us letting people we don't know stay at our place and respecting it.

The retreat center is located on a small farm in the beautiful mountains in Western North Carolina, where you will be greeted by horses, chickens and Buddy the mini Donkey, everyone's fav! We are surrounded by picturesque views and fresh mountain streams. Accommodations include fully furnished tents with one, two or three beds per tent (the entire retreat center sleeps up to 16 people), electric heater to keep you toasty on chilly nights, large indoor workshop space, rejuvenating warm outdoor showers and plenty of private spaces to nurture in nature.
*We clean and disinfect our accommodations and gear after every guest departure. We maintain very high standards of cleanliness and guest safety. Masks are required during group activities, we practice a socially distanced retreat experience.

Cowee Campground has newly been made into a campground, previously undeveloped. We have left most of it undisturbed to maintain the natural and peaceful nature vibes. All tent sites are in the shaded forest and RV hookups are just a few steps away with hardwoods filling out and providing partial shade. We have a beautiful 4 bathroom bathhouse, with ADA shower and another bathroom with clawfoot tub/shower and private back deck. 2 large firepits with Andirondack chairs and a separate picnic table and grill area. There is a large communal Yoga/Event deck and covered Bar/Hangout area beneath - hammock, bar top, darts and it's own firepit as well. Plus Corn hole and Horseshoe pits for your enjoyment.

WINTER BOOKINGS: Our driveway may be impassible during winter weather and we recommend snow tires, snow chains, and/or 4x4 during the winter months due to ice. We do shut down the running water during the winter to prevent the pipes from freezing. We will provide guests with 5 gallon drinking jugs with a dispenser to use, and the toilet still has water to flush. But the shower, sink, tub, hose, and bidet will be shut down during these months. If you want the true off-grid experience this is it ;)
We do require guests to e-sign our rental agreement that we will email to you, and request a $300 security deposit hold (not a charge) that we will release upon checkout. This is just a precaution for us letting people we don't know stay at our place and respecting it.

Me and my fiance camped at the Mountain View and Hot-tub site on Clayton and Tiffany's land and we woke up to a winter wonderland! It was absolutely beautiful with stunning views. The bathhouse was very nice and a great addition! Both of them were very kind and helpful. The animals were adorable as well and one of the highlights of the entire trip!

We've been in a hundred hot tubs and this is the best model so far. This past trip temps were in the teens and the heat kept up impeccably. The best part is that it heats silently. This is important if you prefer listening to nature rather than the hum of a hot tub pump. Also very clean and well maintained.
You can park your trailer parallel to and close to the firepit setup and hot tub and get level using 6" ramps under each tire on the low side. But we found we prefer to be parallel to the woods as shown in these pictures. It provides a more panoramic 280° view from the hot tub. Setting up this way requires 6" ramps under each tire and the tongue dropped almost to the ground. It was worth it to us.

The site was clean and spacious. With no leaves on the trees in the winter, we had a lovely view of the mountains and the sunset in the evening from the hot tub. The bath house was a short distance away and was heated, which was great after the hot tub. The stars at night were fantastic! The hosts were helpful and responsive. Highly recommend this spot!

Fantastic site with a fantastic host. The property is exactly as described and pictured. Great location close to town and the interstate but you would never know it! If you are looking for peace and relaxation then look no further. I managed to get my 39’ fifth wheel into the knoll spot. It’s tight but can be done. Do not pass up on camping here!

This was absolutely perfect for us, but may have TOO MUCH privacy for some folks. You are truly alone here. Incredible hardwood property. Beautiful hikes, fishing, and drives in the area.
We made it up - no problem - with a 21' camper (25' true length) and a crew cab 2500, but this is about max length (2-3 steep, narrow gravel switchbacks -- 4x4 mandatory). Bring extra leveling blocks and 30' of sewer hose.
For the right people with the right rig, this spot simply can't be beat. Thank you for sharing!

Beautiful and serene space. Located 5 mins from the highway but tucked away in a perfect spot for optimal privacy, great views & a ton of space. My fiancé proposed to me right at the top of our campsite with the beautiful mountain views and river flowing in the back ground. This beautiful spot will always be a special place for us! This campsite offers ample room for any size family or camping group. The grounds are safe, clean and comfortable, with electric hookups, hot showers, and a toilet—all while being surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of untouched wilderness.
Being here brought back childhood memories of exploring and charting unknown territory. The peaceful waterfall sings a gentle lullaby each night, carrying you into the deepest sleep. There is truly no campsite that compares.
My only complaint? I lost track of time. I enjoyed myself so much and felt so disconnected from the outside world that days effortlessly blended into nights before it was suddenly time to leave.
This was my parents’ first-ever camping trip, and the host did not disappoint! He was readily available to help them hook up their new RV and made sure they felt at home. By the end of the stay, they felt like pros thanks to his guidance.

My family had another AMAZING time camping at Coweeta Creek. It was cold but it was nice to have clean bathrooms with hot showers. We enjoyed the peaceful sounds of the creek while getting cozy next to the camp fire. We went to Winter Wonderland in downtown Franklin. We saw some pretty lights and enjoyed some warm cider while shopping in the local stores. This is still one of my Favorite places to camp!

We are frequent campers and this was our first Hipcamp booking. It has ruined us for all future campsites because it set the bar so high!
My wife and I spent Thanksgiving (3 nights) here. This was an amazing property. We stayed in the camping/sheltered site with a HOT TUB !!, amazing views, fire ring, power. Everything we needed for enjoyable cold weather camping. And that heated bath house!!! Unreal, the detail and amenities. Second to none. The on property hiking was so enjoyable. Take a walk to Day Dreamer’s rock. Such a magical experience. We are already trying to find time to bring back the rest of the family. I can not recommend this site enough. We are looking forward to future trips to Indian Creek.

Just an hour northwest of Sylva, Great Smoky Mountains National Park offers stunning mountain views, hiking trails, and a variety of tent camping options. Backpackers can explore backcountry sites that require hiking to the campground, while frontcountry camping offers easy car access and a developed campsite with restrooms, a firepit, and a picnic table. Reserve a site early to score a group campsite for eight or more people in the front country, or book a horse camp, where Hipcampers can enjoy vehicle access, horse hitch racks, and basic camping facilities.
Nantahala National Forest
The largest national forest in North Carolina, Nantahala covers mountain and valley landscapes with hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails as well as whitewater rafting and camping. Explore a variety of developed and primitive tent campgrounds with lakeside, streamside, and forest views, plus options for group and dispersed camping. Four RV campgrounds offer space for RVs and campervans in the Nantahala Ranger District, with access to nearby showers and flush toilets. The park also offers a primitive cabin and a fully-equipped lodge with 16 beds and a kitchen. It’s advised to book early as group sites tend to be popular in the summer months.
Pisgah National Forest
An hour’s drive northeast of Sylva is Pisgah National Forest, home to the Cradle of Forestry historic site as well as waterfalls, whitewater rivers, and expansive mountain and forest hiking trails. Tent campers can find a variety of sites with drinking water, showers, and flush restrooms, while RV campers can enjoy the park’s amenities and a dump station at North Mills River. When to go
The popular camping season in Sylva runs from April to October, with the period after Labor Day a favorite for those seeking cooler nights and less humidity. July is the hottest month in the region, with average highs near 85. The state allows camping all year, although it’s important to call ahead because not all sites are available year-round. Experience is recommended for winter camping in the high country, where the slopes are often snowy. For Hipcampers seeking a more relaxed winter experience, many lower-elevation areas around Sylva offer car camping, tent camping, and RV campsites.
