Roamstead was born on a family RV trip across the country. Our founders noticed their glamorous plans often ended in glorified parking lots or dirty campgrounds without amenities or thought regarding design. Alongside that, many campgrounds seemed unapproachable to those who hadn’t been before. A vision was born to reinvent 'roughing it' in a way that could welcome all adventurers to experience the magic of the great outdoors.
We believe the beauty of nature should be experienced by everyone. It's good for your health, and the more we connect with and learn about the outdoors, the more we'll feel compelled to protect it. Whether you've been camping all your life or this would be your first trip, we're here for you. We aim to build a bridge (you know, a metaphorical one) to the great outdoors, where all adventures can truly feel welcome.
Roamstead is committed to making our outdoor spaces accessible to everyone. At our Smoky Mountains location, we're partnering with Friends of the Smokies to do just that. Friends assists the National Park Service in its mission to preserve and protect the Great Smoky Mountains National Park by raising funds and public awareness, and providing volunteers for needed projects. They restore trails, build handicap accessible access points, and provide urban youth educational opportunities in the park, to name just a few of their many projects. A dollar of each stay at Roamstead Smoky Mountains is donated back to Friends of the Smokies to help continue their mission.

Welcome to the Bouquet at Everbear Village!
We are located 15 minutes from Downtown Asheville, directly on the Swannanoa River. You can relax by the fire, fish, swim, tube or kayak. Our farm connects to the river in two spots making it a fun and lovely lazy river!
There are nearby river put ins if you are up for a longer float. Just ask! You can reserve loaner tubes with us ahead of time. If you wade across the river, you will be at Owen Park and the Warren Wilson College Trails with endless walking, hiking, and biking. We are so happy to host!
Guests love it here: "Our stay at everbear village was just what we needed. Even though it was just a few days we had a lot of family fun. The covered pavilion was great for when it started to rain we could all still be together and play games. The river was cold but it didn’t stop us from tubing down the river. Portapotty was clean and had sanitizer along with other nice touches. (As my 5 year old said it made her feel better about using portapotty’s haha). Owners were very responsive about any questions that we had. Thank you for the much needed family time."

Though we are very secluded in the mountains, Walmart is only 5 mins down the road. Spruce Pine is 10-15 mins and has food, grocery, gas, hospital, and a brewery. Marion is a bigger town with mostly anything you could be looking for and is about 20mins away down the mountain. If you want some city buzz, head to vibrant Asheville under an hour away, where you'll find endless art, restaurants, breweries, live music, and more.
Live closer to the earth, the mountains, the curious creatures, and return home with some gratitude!

Riverside on the renowned fly fishing river, the Tuckasegee River, or ridge top on Cullowhee Mountain, elevation 3850'. There are improved camp sites, a yurt, or free range camping and hiking. The fall views are spectacular, wherever you decide to locate. We implement " Leave no trace" rules and welcome respectful 4wd access to our ridge top. We are currently endeavoring agroforestry techniques to respectfully harvest the bounties of the woodlands in our Living Mountain Farms online store. Our hope is to one day make this magical mountain sustain those who reside upon the reserve, and provide a most memorable stay for our guests!Destination Outdoors! DO IT!
