I know the area was inhabited by native Americans many decades ago. I have found a few broken arrow heads over the years. The farm is beautiful and quiet. I have a beautiful hiking trail around the property for you to take your fur babies on. The cabin is right on a beautiful stream too. My best friend wanted to celebrate her birthday in nature, and this spot has been on my Hipcamp bucket list so we booked it for a girls’ trip, and it did not disappoint! The hosts make you feel welcomed while still giving you complete privacy. I’m honestly surprised this place isn’t listed under the stargazing category because it felt like we were in a dome, we saw so many constellations plus Jupiter and Saturn! The farm is clean, beautiful, and peaceful. The animals were adorable, but Jack was the star of the trip his perfectly timed laugh kept us cracking up all weekend. The greenhouse was awesome, but the outdoor shower was the true winner for all of us. The products were top-tier and the water pressure/temperature were perfect! This is a true hidden gem. We walked the on-site trail to Abbott’s Creek it’s HUGE, definitely kayak ready, and even good for fishing. The massive cypress trees along the water are breathtaking. We’re already planning more trips here because it’s perfect for everyone: families, couples, friend groups, or solo travelers. You don’t have to worry about ice, wood, or charcoal since you can buy them on-site, and if you don’t want to cook, you’re less than 5 miles from food and gas stations. Plus, so many attractions are nearby right now you can even visit the troll less than 20 minutes from the cabin! Highly recommend bringing a telescope. Thank you N & D for hosting us 10/10!

I stayed at The Love Shack this weekend and had a wonderful experience. Wendy was a wonderful host—thoughtful, welcoming, and clearly dedicated to creating a beautiful space for her guests. She even cleared the leaves off the trail before I arrived, which made for such a lovely walk through the woods. I spotted a deer along the way which was nice. The A-frame shelter was cozy and warm. I enjoyed the most relaxing nap in the hammock. I highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Sugarneck Glamping Resort, NC

We were four families who spent a weekend at Sugar Neck, and honestly, it was such a perfect escape. Having the entire place to ourselves made it feel extra special — it’s an amazing setup for a group getaway. The tents are beautiful, super comfortable, and the bathrooms are neat, private, and way nicer than you’d expect for glamping. We couldn’t have asked for more. In fact, we loved it so much we’ve already booked another weekend for next week! The host was excellent at communicating and made everything smooth from start to finish. Highly recommend Sugar Neck for anyone looking for a peaceful, cozy, group-friendly glamping spot.

We had a great time at the love shack! It was perfectly cozy, and Wendy has done such a wonderful job creating an accommodative experience that really feels unique. The shack itself was more spacious than I expected, and the setting was beautiful, were very grateful that Wendy would share her beautiful land with the public! Even though it rained we were able to stay warm and dry. It was a really great place to stay, and I hope we get another chance to visit.

We loved our stay at the Loveshack and if you’re thinking of booking this spot, DO IT! The property is stunning, with trails steps away from the Shack and a babbling brook. The bed slept wonderfully and even with 42° temperature nightly lows, we were comfortable with an extra blanket from home. Wendy is a wonderful host who is attentive and respectful. We also brought our beagle, who had a blast playing in the stream and exploring the property with us. Wendy also provided some boardgames and some basic cookware for guests to use as well, which came in handy when we realized our camp stove was broken! We couldn’t have asked for more relaxing, magical, and nature filled weekend. We genuinely cannot wait to come back!

Cool spot! Came down for my birthday so that was nice. Everything here has been done with care, intent and purpose is what I observed. Tried to figure the amount of work that has been done here and could not. Hot water shower was great. Learned about a composting toilet. Visited some with Jack the donkey. Little cabin was cool especially the windows which worked on a kind of swivel and peg system. Didn't use the stove but found it intriguing and imagined myself warming up next to it in the winter. Good area for jogging also, hence the appreciation for the shower. Wish I had collected some black walnuts. Would definitely book again

My third stay at the love shack and it was as great as ever! You will have everything you need and more there. Wendy is such a thoughtful host and takes great care of the property. It's a really lovely place to be! Wendy is actually an incredibly skilled massage therapist and was able to fit me in for a session. I highly recommend booking with her if you can!! She worked wonders on me.

Weekend Trip to Cool Creek Farm

I rented the Hipcamp loft in the barn but actually brought my camper van and Melissa was so gracious to let me park it by the barn. Her property is outstanding and it was a real pleasure to stay there near the music venue I attended. It was like being at a retreat . . . so peaceful! The animals were very entertaining. She has horses, goats, chickens, and barn cats, The one drawback for me was the Wifi situation. There isn't any, and the signal wasn't strong enough for me to be able to access emails or send messages. It wouldn't matter except I run a business and need to be n touch with clients. All in all, a wonderful Hipcamp experience.

Natalie’s place was PHENOMENAL- she’s truly a born hostess. If your definition of luxury if the same as mine, that “they thought of everything” feeling, then this is the most luxurious rental available. Everything screamed “we truly care” - they had little mosquito coils, fire starter, fire wood, etc for us, plus they took the time to fully prepare the beautiful wood stove so all we had to do was light it. They also had a little mini store with great prices for important things (like $2 ice bags and $10 headlamps). The land was gorgeous & easy to find, the animals were all friendly, the outhouse and outdoor shower were impeccably clean, plus they brought us fresh eggs! I cannot rave enough, this was a lovely experience for a weekend getaway. Cannot wait to return :)

One of the best camping experiences I’ve ever had. The cabin is cozy, but nothing beats sleeping under the stars, being awakened by a donkey, and befriending a couple of pigs over coffee. Will definitely be back!
