About the property
You will have our entire 14 acre property to yourself which features some amazing mountain views and is adjacent to state lands for exploration.
To access the site you will drive approx. 15 minutes up a gravel road. Overall we are located about ~30 minutes from I-40 and about 25 min to Marion & Morganton, NC.
For recreation you can access South Mountains Gamelands which is adjacent to the property. You can also drive to South Mountains State Park which is only 15 minutes away. Lake James State Park is 35 minutes away and offers great recreation potent entail as well as Linville Gorge which is 45-60 minutes away.
About the listing
We offer two connected 8x16' tiers with center posts for hanging a tarp or setting up tents. You can see in our photos how a tent would fit on the platforms, there is plenty of space and truly amazing views right from your tent door. The site features a fire pit and an outhouse.

GOLDENSTONE CAMP (GSC) is in beautiful, peaceful Golden Valley (Bostic), NC. Golden Valley is in the center of the majestic South Mountains, a mountain range carved out of the Blue Ridge by erosion and lying just east of the main Blue Ridge Mountain range. It is a broad belt of peaks and knobs rising abruptly from a deep valley (Golden Valley). These steep, rugged mountains encompass 100,000 acres (404 km2) in Rutherford, Burke, and Cleveland counties, away from the lights and sounds of the city. GSC sits at the intersection of NC 226 (South Mountains Scenery scenic byway and Golden Valley Church Road and provides easy, paved access from all points north, south, east, and west. Eden is a unique campground. We have a couples camper thats fully stocked with games, wifi, bluetooth speakers, coffee maker, wine glasses, firewood, the camper has a (queen sized bed and a bench for a small child) all toiletries, bedding, etc. Our large tent site will easily fit two tents if needed and can comfortably accommodate 6 guests. Both sites have wifi, power, and water along with a grill, fire pit, seats, tables, and fire wood and EVERYTHING else you will need for a relaxing time! The tent site is wooded and both sit along a fern covered creek. For those who like to hike, we have a 5 acre tree canopied nature trail with seating that let's you sit in peace with the birds, squirrel, and the occasional deer.

This is a nice place. Sites are wide and clean. My husband stayed here while he hunted in South Mountain. Super convenient. Definitely need a heated water hose in winter. Make sure you have longer utility hoses and electrical wire because hookups are at the rear of the site not on the side. The host rents extras if you need them. We will be back!

Had a very chill and relaxing time! Jeff was there to greet us and his wife gave us a tour! I’m in love with their Great Pyrenees. They had excellent hospitality and equally gave us our space. We had a huge fire in their pit and felt right at home!

The area was very private and quiet. The platform was very convenient! Instructions for check in were easy to follow. The only downside to the site was the grown up trees in the summer that blocked the overlook view of the mountains. Great site!

This is our second time staying at goldenstone camp and we have enjoyed both times! The creek is nice to sit and relax with the cool water and the dogs loved the open fields run around. A tip for future guests is to make sure you have a long enough waste hose because the sewer connections are at the back of the sites. Would definitely stay again!

18 ft toy hauler
Everything at Goldstone was easy! The location next to HWY 226 made it easy to get in and out of the site. Jesus had everything ready for us with easy access to utilities and great WIFI. We put lounge chairs in the river and just enjoyed one afternoon with a little bit of fishing too. South Mountain park was a 25 min drive with great hike along the river and we drove into Forest City for dinner at the Copper Penny. It was July 4th so most businesses were closed but it is a cute town.
The steps to get into the river were steep and I’m not a fan in general of sites with only gravel, but everything else was wonderful! The automatic lights at the power supply and the river deck were especially helpful and Jesus was a responsive but not invasive host.
We would go again.

This is an awesome camp site! Easily accessible and very convenient. The platforms are great for tents on one level and chairs on the other. We enjoyed our night and will be back in the future for longer stays. The view is spectacular, especially at sunset.

What a beautiful setting!! The site looks exactly as pictured, but the view is even prettier in person. The platform and fire pits were nice amenities, and we enjoyed being so immersed in nature. Would highly recommend & hope to visit again soon!!

We had the best time at this Hipcamp! The drive up was so fun. The space was very clean and well maintained. The only thing I would pre-warn people of is the strong winds up there! We were a little underprepared for those and it did get very chilly. Otherwise it was a beautiful, relaxing, and great weekend getaway.

Me and my wife used this site for a last minute getaway. The hoste was very informative and the site was clean with wonderful views. The platform was a plus, along with the outhouse. We do wish the outhouse had a spot to hang the toilet paper. We also liked how the host had hooks on the posts for us to hang things. We will be visiting this site in the future.

This spot totally blew us away. Seriously, the vibes were immaculate. And those fresh eggs? Don't even get me started. So good, like sunshine on a plate. We're already planning our next visit. This place is a hidden gem, for sure. Can't wait to go back and soak it all in again. It's the kind of place that just makes you happy.
