Weekend Trip to The Spotted Sandpiper
Spent 3 nights in Glamp 1 in October of 2025. It was 40s at night and rained 2 of the nights, but we stayed warm with the heater (and an electric blanket we brought)! It was dry inside the tent despite the rain. Area is beautiful. Due to weather, didn't spend any time on the lake, but did make use of the shower areas, which worked well - hot water and shower/bathroom walkable from Glamp 1. Kate answered all questions before and during the stay. Shampoo/conditioner and towels provided. Great affordable glamping experience!!

We had such a wonderful birthday trip on Tommy’s land and in the surrounding area. Our site was the hilltop overlooking the rolling hills on one side and the forest on the other. It was perfect! Very private although the other site down the hill wasn’t occupied. They are spread apart quite a ways and both have picnic tables and fire rings. Tommy and his wife, Laura, both very nice and generous hosts, brought us plenty of free wood for our stay. Upon check-in, he greeted us and was very hospitable, offering suggestions for area must-sees for scenery, parks, wineries, food etc. They do offer usage of a flush toilet and sink in the end of their house, if desired. We’re pretty self-contained campers and didn’t utilize them. The property is very neat and clean in a rural area. We especially loved seeing the horse and cows each day as we are both originally from small farming towns. We would highly recommend this Hipcamp to anyone wanting a serene getaway with beautiful landscape and gracious host. Was a perfect trip! While you’re here, check out the Chimney Bluffs on Lake Ontario. They are super cool!

We loved glamping at Spotted Sandpiper! We had all of the necessities and more at our tent site. You can’t beat the view of Lake Cayuga—we loved going down to the dock for sunset every night. It’s also very close to Taughannock State Park and a short drive from Ithaca.

A beautiful and well cared for campsite set on the top of a hill, at the edge of the woods and overlooking the endless rolling hills. One of the most peaceful night’s camping that we have ever had. Tommy is an exceptional host who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Feeding his 15 friendly cows was the highlight of the day for my wife. Just a few miles to Chimney Bluffs SP, Wolcott Falls and Sodus Point, I highly recommend this property. We will definitely be returning!

This is a gem of a hipcsmp! Tommy is so friendly and eager to show you around. The animals are well cared for and the camping spots are peaceful and lovely. We loved it and highly recommend staying here. We were only one night but I could see staying longer to explore the lakeshore.

Thank you Tommy for lovely experience at your hip camp! The campsite was beautiful, spacious well maintained with wonderful views! We had stunning sunrise over your farm land. Tommy was very attentive every step of the way even he was out of state at that moment . He left as treats for the cows to feed, (which had adorable name tags on their ears) he also left us fire wood to enjoy. Thank you again we would definitely come back when in the area. The glamping tents were beautiful, well stocked and way beyond what I was expecting. Fresh towels, a day bed with trundle, TV, fridge, the works. Wonderful amenities, especially for the price! Easy and beautiful lake access, and access to kayaks and canoe. Check-in and check out was really simple, and directions clear. Welcoming, friendly, beautiful and peaceful.

I love everything about this place! This was my third visit, and it has truly become my home away from home. I’ve been there in the fall, spring, and summer, and I'm always amazed at how quiet it is despite the expansive property. Jordan, the owner, goes above and beyond to help us with any last-minute issues or requests. Sam is also quick to assist with anything we need. I love all things rustic, so this place is perfect for me! I'm looking forward to coming back in the fall and winter this year. My family absolutely adores this hidden gem!

Great little spot - we had fun swimming and paddle boarding around. Nice fire pit, picnic table, etc. neighbors are close but out of sight. Really nicely shaded beneath a ton of beautiful black locust and walnut trees.
Might not call this one child friendly, mainly due to the dock being in rough shape (splinters, nails, no ladder) and there being some poison ivy (not anywhere you want to be walking, but in some of the peripheral areas). But it was great for our adult group!

Tommy is the coolest host ever so nice and accommodating he let us feed the animals that was fun and took us on a long gator ride. Around the whole property picked fresh cherries off the tree and ate them he ‘‘twas very knowledgeable about where to go in town and surrounding places can’t wait to go back and see what his place is like in the fall with all the pretty changing leaves colors if u get a chance to stay here call him up you will have a great time
