The cabin is located in a remote area of Bear Swamp State Forest. It is about 5 miles from the nearest paved road but has seasonal roads that take you to the cabin. There are many close attractions like Skaneateles Lake and Carpenters Falls. The Cabin doesn’t have electricity or water but we do have a generator available. We do not have a shower or bathroom but we have an outhouse. We do ask people to bring their own gas if you want to run the generator and woods to make a fire. I highly recommend 4x4 vehicles but I been there in a civic and a mini van.

Nestled in the Finger Lakes, Happy Pastures Campground is a place where families can come and stay for a day, a week, a month or even a season. The campground is located between Skaneateles and Otisco Lakes in the town of Spafford. Our mission is to provide a fun, family-oriented getaway, providing opportunities for families to reconnect with nature and agriculture. With an on-site barn and a mixture of animals in pastures, families will have the opportunity to care for and feed the animals at designated chore times. Scheduled guided hayrides to Fesko Dairy’s family operated dairy farm a mile down the road will provide opportunities to engage with the farmer and staff about modern day agricultural practices.
During the camping season, programs will be provided at the campground lodge and barn. Programs will cover a variety of topics designed to incorporate agriculture and nature. Such topics can include gardening, fishing, animal husbandry, outdoor cooking, bird watching, using nature and animals to reduce stress, and many others.
Our goal at Happy Pastures Campground is to have campers leave with a better understanding of agriculture and nature while gaining a greater appreciation for where their food comes from and the ecosystem it grows in.

1800 sq cabin Located at the south end of Skaneateles Lake in Bear Swamp. Surrounded by 3000 acres of state forest. 28 minutes from the village of Skaneateles. 5 minutes from the Glen Haven Inn. You can either camp on the property or stay at the cabin. The cabin has two bedrooms downstairs one queen size bed one full-size bed. Downstairs has off grid kitchen, meaning, cooking outdoors on grill and using Camp sink. The cabin is heated by woodstove. Upstairs loft has a queen size bed, and a full-size bed. Downstairs has couch and many rockers. There is a large fire pit outside. The parking spots accommodate for large pick up trucks or five sedans or two RVs. About 200 feet before you get to the cabin parking area there is a pull in flat area where trailers can turn around or you can park an RV away from the cabin. Enjoy the outdoors and the scenery in the heart of the Finger Lakes. 15 miles north of Ithaca NY! Eagle Ridge is in the heart of Bear Swamp which has miles of hiking, mountain biking x-country skiing and snowmobiling trails. 2 miles away from south end of Skaneateles Lake access where you can launch boat, SUP, fish or just dive into the beautiful lake! Foraging encouraged on the 44 acres. hikers and campers will be delighted at the variety the property offers. Forest bathing is big and real. A very purifying and magical experience. Our second visit. This place is just magical. One weekend is not enough time. If it were open in the Winter we'd totally come here to ski and get away-even if there was no indoor plumbing...hint hint :) Just need a wood stove or pellet stove situation :)

So welcoming and peaceful! When I met Savanna upon arrival, she said, “the camp is a labor of love.” And it shows! She and her husband Brad have made a little slice of heaven in a beautiful stand of hard woods and mature white pine. The cabin is off grid but powered up by a high-capacity battery. Super comfy and cozy, it’s a great one-room refuge. Bonus points for the screened porch entryway and easy chairs.
A bath house is a short walk with an outdoor work sink and a lovely interior with tile floors, nice shower, and bath sink I’d be proud to have in my home. Warm, clean, and inviting, it’s a beautiful bath house.
Tho there is no wi-fi, cell works well-enough to stream a movie or podcast.
Highly recommend!

We stayed in The Loon cabin. It was super cute and nice. Simple necessities with all bases covered. The property was so large and had shoreline and wooded and field walking so we never even needed to leave to walk the dogs. We came AFTER kids camp season and we will be back! Only a half hour drive to CMAC! Bryan was easy to reach and quick to respond.

The Heron cabin was great. Each of the 3 bedrooms had a heater and fan. The common area got chilly overnight but the bedroom stayed comfortable with the door closed. The grounds were great and our dog loved exploring. The views of the lake were spectacular and it was so peaceful sitting out on the dock. We already can’t wait to go back and take advantage of the pool, and use a kayak or canoe.
One thing to note is there is no outside lock on the cabin, though we totally felt our belongings were safe when we left during the day.

I love staying at camp Whitman. It was so quiet, peaceful, and green. Being right on Lake Seneca was unbeatable. Gorgeous! I had to do some remote work and my cabin had great WiFi signal!

Bryan was incredibly kind, accommodating, and responsive. We rented the Hawk for 2 nights and it was perfect for our family of 4. The screened in porch is great for eating meals and playing cards. We enjoyed canoeing on the lake, and fishing on the pond. They have a very nice dock with Adirondack chairs to enjoy the lake- about 5 minutes from the cabin. They do have a pool, but it was too chilly for us to use it. No need to bring a grill or camping chairs. They have benches outside around the campfire. Also included was hand soap, dish soap, tissue, paper towels, grilling tools, microwave, toaster oven, decent sized fridge with freezer, and a fan. It has a nice rustic feel with the comforts of running water/toilet/shower. We would definitely come back!

Great spot to spend some time with few interruptions! Quite quiet most of the time, some neighbors with hunting cabins not within visible range. Got visited by a porcupine on the deck of the cabin one evening (all were unscathed!). Lovely birdwatching and many interesting insects to observe, wildflowers in bloom in August. The orientation of the cabin to the sun makes it a light space. No screens in the windows so timing when to air out the cabin to avoid bugs/bats is needed unless you have screen inserts. Seems like a lovely spot to stay in the winter, I may try to come back!

We loved our time at Bear Creek Haven. The cabin is extremely nice, there are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Including the bunk beds, there are 4 double beds which theoretically could sleep 8 people. We had a slightly larger crew than that, so some folks put up tents outside or hammocks in the trees. Overall, we were very comfortable. There was even an air conditioner and fans provided in the cabin, most definitely a welcome addition!
The cabin is just a short drive from many wineries and breweries. We checked out Americana Vineyards, Finger Lakes Cider House, Scale House Brewing, and Lively Run Dairy (they have cheese flights, and you can pet goats!) Overall, it was a great experience and we look forward to staying there again in the future.
One suggestion I have is improving the directions to be more detailed, we did get a little lost when getting in. Here are the more detailed directions that I sent friends to ensure they could find the cabin: “ Once you are on Pitcher Rd you are basically going to take it to the end and then veer right at the signs. As you are going down the road you will pass the mailboxes on your right, go through the Stone bridge overpass, pass several Amish houses. Go all the way down gravel road, til you get to the signs, turn right and then left to follow bear creek haven trail.”

We had a wonderful time at this campsite! The grounds were well-maintained, peaceful, and surrounded by beautiful nature—perfect for relaxing and disconnecting. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The facilities, including the restrooms and showers, were clean and conveniently located. We love that it has a lake access! We’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great camping experience!

7 of us shared the Walnut bunkhouse, I'd highly highly reccomend!
The bunkhouse:
The bunkhouse was clean, well-maintained, and stayed cool in the 90+ degree heat. The beds were comfortable and it was plenty spacious for 7 people.
The campground:
Camp Whitman is lovely. It was very quiet and peaceful, and the stargazing at night was excellent. The camp sits right on the lake and has a gorgeous dock area, and we had a blast going out on Kayaks and SUPs. The pool was warm and clean. The lifeguard team made sure we had a safe and fun time!
The location:
Camp is a short drive to Watkins Glen and many wineries. It's peaceful and set back from the road. It was lovely to sit by the lake and watch the sun rise.
Overall 10/10 stay!

We loved our quiet weekend in the little cabin! It had many cooking essentials like spatulas, spoons, Blackstone Grill, a propane stove and pots and pans. Although we would recommend bringing your own propane. We were kindly left some but ran out the first night of our trip. The cabin was well maintained and tidy! The loft is cute and tiny, but we did not use it since we had our dogs with us. The fire-pit area was great and the area was beyond peaceful! The drive in was a bit rough due to all of the rain we've been getting and it caused some larger holes, but as long as you go slow it is fine. The turn for the cabin is easy to find since it has a "For sale" sign at it. We definetly recommend!
