Pristine camping along a small creek. Flat area surrounded by mountains and cottonwoods. Hiking is along the acequia, across the creek or you can actually hike in the creek, as the water runs underground shortly past my property. There are also many places to hike west of my property along Rosa Castilla. Wild horses roam all over the BLM land and along the creek. Desert area, 6000" elevation, so very dry and must be excectionally careful about fires. Only in provided grills . There is abundant wood that you can use for free, but put all coals out and you can use the creek water, when it is there. REMEMBER this is the desert!!I would like to book a 3 month visit from January 1st-April 1st with free water. You need to provide your own electricity, but solar would be an excellent option as sites are on south facing, so panels would work well. I would like to trade a discount for help on the farm during this time. $5.00 a day disount, plus the water. You would be the only one booked during this time, so very quiet and private for long term winter stay!!

Nice host. The morning coffee was a welcome offer. This is a convenient spot in town. The setting is a neighborhood house with tent sites in backyard garden. Very pleasant. Use of bathroom and shower a useful bonus. Will stay again when traveling through in future.

Had a great night at Michaela’s spot. Felt very safe and comfortable on my own. She was very welcoming and friendly when I arrived and was nice enough to make me coffee in the morning before heading out. We chatted and got to know each other a bit which was lovely. Would recommend to anyone passing through. Especially solo female travels. Overall great experience. Thank you for the stay!

We stayed here with Luke twice, both coming and going through Albuquerque. We found the site to be very convenient to everything we wanted to see, and to access the freeways. Luke, as our host, was an excellent communicator, and was most accommodating, letting us know we could have late check out one day as his next guest was not coming until later.
The site was level, private, and quiet. One thing to be aware of— we are somewhat small/ 40
Ft combined truck and trailer, and with another camper already occupying the rear of the camp, the turning radius was a little tight and took a little skill. This was not a deal breaker- just something to be aware of.

Great, open space that we felt comfortable in during our stay for the balloon fiesta! We had the place to ourselves midweek and were grateful for the short drive to the balloon parking - about 2 miles. On the day we were leaving, we got to enjoy a fantastic view of the balloons and had several land in the surrounding fields. Very cool experience! I anticipated it being a lot louder with it being in the city, but it was quiet and an awesome snag for an amazing price when everything skyrockets during fiesta week!

We were very happy to find this spot. Our just was friendly and helpful. He met us at the gate. We felt safe in the gate enclosed yard. We had power and water.
Please note: With another rig already in a spot , Our 20 ft truck plus 20 ft trailer took some maneuvering. Longer rigs could have trouble.

This was a great location for our small group in town for the Balloon Fiesta. The directions were easy to follow, and it was just a short drive to festivities. We really appreciated that the property had 2 lines of tall trees which offered shade for camping and parking. Would definitely make this our base camp again.
