We love stopping here on our way through from AZ to the Rockies! We have full hookups, the area is clean and private, and close to great bike trails. Jerry and his wife our super friendly and welcome us like old friends. There were even fresh flowers picked for us to enjoy! I highly recommend this place!

Beautiful and very private campsite. My husband declared this the best place we’ve ever camped. As others mentioned, it is about 1 mile up a gravel driveway to reach the house and the campsite. We tow a 5000 pound two axle trailer, and didn’t have any issues going up or down.We used the water and electric hook ups, which worked great. I think there was sewer on site, but it didn’t appear to be in the same area as the others. Host was very communicative and very much left us to ourselves. It was wonderful to be so close to Durango and not in a large RV campsite.

Since I’m not very good at backing up I chose to park on the tree lined street. It was perfect. The area is great for a dog walk and if you don’t come on a Monday there’s a very close Mexican restaurant that looked intriguing and a brewery if you are just looking for a good drink. Sapphire was very gracious and sent me off with some ice packs and ice for my failing fridge.

We certainly recommend MSB Legacy Retreat. The sites are very well prepared, pleasant to be in, very clean, secure, and easy to access. When staying here, it becomes obvious that a lot of care and thought has gone into these accommodations. It's a lovely setting. Communication was A++. We enjoyed our brief stay and knew that our enjoyment of the site was important to them. We will be looking for an opening again in the future whenever we are staying in the area.

Nice spot. Advertised as close to Durango, although you’d never know it while you’re there. It’s quiet and feels remote. We had a nice stay and used it as a basecamp to hike near Silverton.

We had such a memorable stay at this Hipcamp site! From the moment we booked, the host went above and beyond to be accommodating and make sure everything was just right for our group. Communication was fast, clear, and genuinely welcoming — you could tell they really cared about our experience. The RV site was incredibly convenient, with plenty of space and easy access that made setup a breeze. It was well thought-out and made our stay super comfortable. Firewood was also readily available, which made it so easy to enjoy evenings around the campfire without any hassle. The property was perfect for families — our kids had a blast exploring the open space, playing freely, and just being in nature. It felt safe, peaceful, and exactly the kind of break we were hoping for. Whether it was running around, roasting marshmallows, or just watching the stars come out, there was never a dull moment for them. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a family-friendly getaway with an awesome host who truly understands hospitality. We’ll definitely be back!

We stayed one night during our travels but would definitely return! Jerry provided great information and even let us stay a bit over our time so we could do a Mesa Verde tour. The sunset and sunrise were gorgeous and the dogs loved running around. Thank you again for the hospitality!!

The hosts, the Bergstrand’s, were very easy to work with, informative, and hospitable! They really made this feel like home away from home. It really felt like we’ve always known them. They provided wood for purchase, some generous entertainment options, and full hookups for our RV. The site was very easy to find, very clean, secluded, and provided a beautiful view of the mountains. Our daughter’s small dog was welcomed. Our whole family was super pleased with the site and experience! We plan to go back!

The large site has a picnic area, it can handle large RVs with slide outs. No neighbors. Wonderful hosts, dark skies at night, and notable galleries in nearby Mancos. Cortez is also very close.

Weekend Trip to HTR Durango

Jerry was great—detailed directions in case loss of signal or wrong directions and he even gave us a heads up another guest was arriving late night so not to be alarmed. Can’t beat the STUNNING landscape!

We loved our stay! Beautiful creek in May that ran through the camp sites. Great for dogs with a fenced in dog park. The bathrooms were very clean. Less than a 10 minute drive to town.

This is a great place! We've stayed here twice now and it's an excellent choice to enjoy all the things that this part of Colorado has to offer. The hosts have done a wonderful job of constructing a very private, quiet retreat with all the necessities. They go out of their way to make your stay wonderful. We even got rhubarb pie! Thanks for a great stay. We'll see you later this summer.

We really enjoyed staying here! Loved the solitude and the view. Loved being surrounded by pine trees — not enormous RVs! Hook-ups worked well. We had a fire in the fire pit in the morning (night was windy).

Connie and Jerry are the kindest hosts! They made us feel very welcome on their beautiful property and even greeted us with homemade jam and tons of information about the surrounding location. We had the group site and it was just right for our 2 fifth wheels. The views on their property are excellent. It was private and made for a pretty relaxing week. Will be back next time I’m in the area!

Weekend Trip to Bear springs

Amazing spot to stay and explore the Durango area!! The spot is close to the house but as others said, you’ll be facing out towards nothing but forest and valley views for 180*+ on the other side. There is an unmapped trail system connected to the spot, it is pretty steep down into the valley and back but was a lot of fun, super private and our corgi actually handled it fine. Easy drive into Durango to hang out for the day, and you’re close to lots more to do! First time renting and driving a 25ft class C didn’t give me any issues. The dirt road leading to the property has at least one switch back that might be tougher for larger vehicles or trailers not sure. Michael and Shannon were easy to reach for questions and friendly. Great spot, we would stop again on our way through town!
