They are all private camps and out of sight from others. Our camps sites are for people that like camping in the mountains and near a working farm. Our farm and the community we built is focused on sustainable living with nature, local self reliance, and kindness. Also, feel free to join us in the fields, request a tour, pet a goat, smell a pig, and check out our DIY home renovation, (built with hempcrete). We provide ice at the beginning of the stay. This also doubles as a bench to sit and remove shoes before entering the tent. We provide slippers for inside the tent, and recommend shoes that slip on and off easily for going in and out of the tent quickly. 🍳For cooking there is a 4 burner barbecue grill and stovetop, console to prepare, plastic sink for washing utensils and dishes. Our path to the lake can get a bit muddy in areas after wet weather. Parking is about 500 ft from the tent, so please keep this in mind with regards to bags/luggage. About Mountain Dale: “Tucked in the majestic Sullivan County Catskills, the secluded hamlet of Mountaindale has become known in recent years for its cultivated resurgence. Its once-sleepy Main Street is now home to a vibrant constellation of hip independent businesses, from well-curated lifestyle shops to a sound meditation studio to a pizza shop slinging naturally fermented pies and biodynamic wines.” Getting around couldn’t be easier. Rails to Trails provides a mile long bike path directly from Silver Lake to town. Ask us about bike rentals. I would recommend this place to all my friends! The cabin itself was perfect for a weekend getaway having all the essentials needed and some nice extras like the hot tub and sauna. The area was incredibly beautiful and close to a cute little town. Despite some travel issues, we were met with kindness and flexibility, which show how amazing they were at hosting! We also got some very good local recommendations :) we’ll definitely be back!

Mark is an amazing host, along with his wife and dog. They were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, shuttled our bags to and from the site on check-in/check-out, provided us with plenty of firewood for the weekend, and lent us their canoe to take out on the private lake. The tent is located on the far side of the lake (away from the road) with a stunning view of autumn foliage reflected off the water. It feels very remote and peaceful with only sounds from the surrounding forest and beautiful view of the stars on a clear night. The tent and fire circle are kept very clean with a heater provided inside the tent that keeps it very warm. It was the perfect setting for a romantic weekend having just proposed to my fiancée. Overall, I would recommend this property very highly and hope to be back for another stay soon!

Eric’s land is beautiful, with walking trails, a pond, and 3 campsites that are far enough away from each other to make you feel like it is just you and the wilderness. He has farm animals but I could not hear them from my campsite. Peaceful place with no RVs. If you are a tent camper this is idyllic.

We’ve stayed here twice now with our dogs and had an absolute blast both times. We loved it so much that we came back within a month, and we’re already bummed we won’t get to return until next season. Every extra is worth it - the sauna is incredible, the hot tub with the TV is a huge hit, and adding the Nintendo Switch and projector makes for such a fun movie night on the porch. The food is all delicious and clearly made with care. You can tell a lot of thought went into every detail. There are fun little things to read and listen to, and it feels peaceful and private once the sun goes down. The big windows give you a perfect view of the stars at night and the sunrise in the morning. Shaggy really goes above and beyond. We’ve stayed in tons of places over the years, and this is easily one of our top three favorites. Don’t wait, book it and have a great time.

Everything at Hippie Haven was perfectly curated. Shaggy and Kendra have put a love of love and creativity into their land, and have the clear intention of giving you the utmost comfort, relaxation, and fun on your stay there. Their land is secluded and feels safe, and walking the property at night to visit different amenities (hot tub, sauna) was easy and carefree. The cabin itself was C L E A N and well taken care of. Every detail was looked after, down to clean robes, fresh linens and towels, and even the drink and cookware provided was immaculate and organized. We wanted for absolutely nothing as Shaggy had set everything we needed in place prior to our arrival, and he still was highly communicative and insistent we could reach out for absolutely anything. We opted for the hot tub, sauna, polaroid camera, and firewood add-on. Everything we added made the stay even more magical. My partner and I agreed it was the best air bnb/hipcamp/hotel either of us have EVER stayed in. We’re huge hippies ourselves and it was great to stay in a place that offered a carefree getaway that was also eco conscious, and decorated with care. We enjoyed a fire on the patio each night while listening to just a few of the records Shaggy has to offer - including rolling stones, led zeppelin, neil young, and more. They’re close to a few shops and restaurants as well, but they provide all the tools needed to make a few meals while you’re there. We love Hippie Haven and can’t wait to come back!!
