A former farm now a 150 acre forested retreat. Mt Ascutney, a 3500' monadnock is to the north and view in excess of 60 miles to the south.

Firewood for the outside fire pit is available under extras.
However if it has rained or raining you may want to bring kindling wood.
We now have slab wood for sale if you do not want to rummage for wood in the forest
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN KINDLING WOOD FOR THE STOVE.

Looking for a warm and cozy space? Our 12acres are beautifully wooded with our pond as the central point of interest.
Camping with a trailer is a fun experience.
The communal pavilion has picnic table/benches, propane grill, shared refrigerators, pans, utensils, and dishwashing area and string lights.
Please expect some vintage aspects, such as door handles, screens, windows, that function according to their age.
These are not new modern trailers and we think that adds to the appeal! However they are clean and cozy!
Your trailer is down by the pond, the wildlife clay bottom is spring fed, swimming is allowed during daylight hours only and it is "Swim at your own Risk". Please read the house rules regarding rinsing off and refraining from getting suntan oil etc. in the pond.
We usually have wood on site for sale, advance request is much appreciated and please pay upon arrival with cash, $15 per ample bundle and $15 for a bag of charcoal.
We do not deliver after 6pm so please order in advance.
PLEASE NOTE- you do not have our property to yourselves. We live onsite and on any given night, both trailers can be rented. The cook station, picnic table/benches under the pavilion and composting toilet are communally used.
IMPORTANT-PLEASE PLAN TO CHECK IN BETWEEN 4 and 6:30 pm as this is not a location where we can accommodate arrivals after dark. After checking in, you can head back out for dinner, we are a mere 5 miles from Quechee. We further request that you communicate your arrival time no later that early the day of so that we can greet you. We plan our day around your arrival and ask that you respect our time as well.
Any photography done with our property must be for personal use only and not professional use nor intended for publication. You must have advance (prior to arrival) permission for professional photography which will also require a contract for fees and terms. We also must restrict the use of our property to registered guests only,We also require that you commit to requirements such as no smoking or open flame in trailers, use of pond, etc. All guests swim and hike our property at their own risk.
We ask that you only swim during daylight hours.

Our private Sugar Shack is at the end of our blueberry fields and faces the forest. The Sugar Shack sleeps two in a comfy double bed with clean sheets and a fleece blanket. I wash the linens and blanket
in hot water for each and every booking.
Please bring your own extra blankets or sleeping bag if the weather is cold. An additional clean quilt with duvet cover can be added for a $ 10 per booking fee. There is a small porch, a charcoal grill, four chairs, a hammock, a fire ring,
fire wood, clean potable cold water, a solar shower,
and an outhouse. We provide the firewood for the fire ring and we provide charcoal and lighter fluid for the charcoal grill.
There is space available next to Sugar Shack in the field for additional tents or small RVs. (There is no electricity.) The upcharge for additional campers after the first two people is $5 per person per night.
Hiking trails through field and forest start at your door. We have a 3 mile round trip hike to Harlow Brook with a map. We are on the edge of a wildlife corridor and often see deer, coyotes, fox, waterfowl, songbirds and the occasional bear.
(Keep food in your car at night so that the bear does not eat it!)
We are above the Ottauquechee River at North Hartland Lake. We have rentable canoes and a
kayak. We can transport you to and pick you up for a canoe trip on the Connecticut River or to North Hartland Lake..
We are located two miles from Quechee, 7 miles from historic Woodstock to the west, and 7 miles to hip White River Junction to the east and 8 1/2 miles to Dartmouth College and the Appalachian Trail. There are fun casual restaurants with some sit down and take-out nearby and our local Jakes Market can provide you with a nice selection of groceries.
Hot Air Balloon pilots often take off and land in our fields and it is always a magical site. We can connect you with local pilots if you wish to purchase a Balloon Adventure.

My family had already booked the adjoining campsite when Matt had just listed this camper, and it was a perfect addition for our group, especially for a husband who doesn't like tent camping, and comfy beds for our toddler to nap. The camper included a detailed welcome note with instructions and recommendations. It was roomy inside with a large bed and two bunk beds, each with their own privacy curtains; dining table and fully stocked galley kitchen; as well as nice bathroom, and universal chargers beside the beds. It ended up raining during the end of our stay but it stayed so cozy inside, and the outdoor awning kept us dry while we made meals on the outdoor grill. The views from the site are gorgeous, the setting is serene, we only noticed a few cars along the road. Definitely need FWD or AWD to get back up the dirt driveway. Also, the country store is 4mins away and had everything we needed, including extra diapers!

There were sites on either sides of us but it wasn't too loud at all and still felt private, everything was very clean and the instructions provided were very clear. Donna and Sam were great. Loved that there was wood on site for the fire pit, we really just had to show up with food, everything else was provided and thought of. I will say the horse trailer was very cozy and we loved the views of the pond, but I will say it can get loud if it is raining! If you don't mind that, it's a great, clean and cozy place to stay.

More amenities and supplies than expected. The cabin was well stocked with lots of potable water, dishes, firewood, etc. Which was helpful because it was unseasonably cold and rainy and we needed to light the wood stove to warm up!

We absolutely loved our stay on Streeter Mountain's land. We stayed in the treehouse. It was so private and absolutely gorgeous. It was by far our favorite place to stay through Hipcamp so far and we have stayed in several places.

Weekend Trip to Waterfront Oasis W Included Favs
Had a great time at Matt’s spot. He has everything you could possibly need for a fun weekend including plenty of firewood, some drinks in the fridge, and kayaks to explore the river with. Would 100% recommend and hope to come back again soon. Matt is super friendly and easy to communicate with.

Simple and quiet. Easy to find and get to site. Marty was very helpful. They were very responsive even with booking only the day before. I enjoyed the sunsets and peace. If I am ever in the area again would definitely rebook.

I LOVE visiting different Hipcamps with my pups... this was the 1st time traveling with only the 2, reactive, working line rescues, while healing from the loss of our other 2 pups... I always look for EXCLUDED, Quiet and Private sites, where the pups can just be, with limited to zero triggers of the outside world... The OWLS Nest was one the the Best Site we have been to so far...
The OUTSIDE was clean, spacious and with plenty of trails to explore...
The cabin and the rest of the amenities were more the we ever had at other Hipcamps and it for sure made the trip a way more relaxing... Joe was VERY responsive and respectful of our privacy and we hope to be back in the fall.

Vinny is an incredible host. We absolutely love staying on his property, it’s truly a little slice of heaven! The best time to unplug, relax and take it back to basics with outdoor time, hiking, s’more’s and reading a good book in the hammock overlooking the falls. Cant wait for our next trip back. This was my third time visiting and it's always a peaceful experience. I love how light the cabin is on the inside. The woodstove makes it fun and was easily able to keep the inside warm but it probably only got down to freezing outside.

We were looking for a quiet getaway to unplug and be outside and this place offered exactly that. Be ready to walk a little ways from the parking to the tree house, but this wasn’t an issue for us. Lots of nice walkable hiking trails, a communal fire we were able to use, and even a cool farm cat that loved hanging out with us!

We had a great stay at this cabin and would absolutely come back. One of the things I appreciated most is how private it is—unlike many other rentals, there are no additional sites on the property, so the cabin and the surrounding space are entirely yours.
The cabin itself is exactly as described, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up. What truly stood out to me, though, was how welcome we felt. As an immigrant, I’m very intentional about choosing places where my family—and really anyone from a minority background—can feel safe and respected. This was definitely one of those places. The owners are genuinely kind, good people, and it shows in the way they host.
A lovely bonus: they make their own maple syrup, which you can purchase during your stay.
And the views are beautiful—you can see the mountains right from the cabin, which made mornings and evenings especially memorable.
Overall, a peaceful, welcoming place that I’d highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Green Mountain Getaway
This little getaway was the perfect little adventure for my boyfriend’s birthday. The hosts were so helpful, giving us the option to purchase fire wood for the wood stove. We didn’t think we’d need it but the brisk mornings and breezy sunsets gave us the perfect opportunity to get cozy. The view left us stunned as we do not experience anything like it in our small Mass town. We cannot wait to plan another trip here to experience every season!

My husband & I stayed in John & Pattie’s cabin for his birthday, and we brought our 3 dogs! We typically choose secluded sites as our dogs are very weary/nervous of strangers and like their space. This cabin was the perfect spot for them! A heads up; they give you warnings via signage in the cabin and i will warn you as well; there are a LOT of ticks! it’s the woods, there’s gonna be ticks but we’d use a sticky roller & find one every time we were outside on the dogs. just get a good flea & tick for them 👌
there is a cast iron stove that kept us extremely warm during the below freezing nights, & our hosts provided all the wood for the inside stove which was so kind.
on our way home to philadelphia, we stopped by a local dispensary and met some of the nicest people. we’d never been to vermont before & this was an amazing first experience. everyone we’d met there was sooo nice, starting with our hosts John & Pattie! we bought some of their homemade maple syrup (HIGHLY recommend)!
John also came up to the cabin to check on us & surprised our dogs, (our dogs don’t love strange men… apologies again, john!) and he responded exactly as one should when approached by barking, nervous dogs. it was refreshing and while i’m upset with my dogs for running up to him, it’s nice to see someone who understands how to interact with dogs.
